Alot of people gave the habs s*** at the time for picking price at 5 though, you only know the right moves years later . Obviously picking a #1 center is huge but if the rest of your team is crap then it makes no difference . kings also had quick who was a stud #1 goalie for many years and a #1 dman in doughty etc... price literally has had f*** all to deal with and a bunch of smurfs on the team We can end up with a good 2nd winger or 2 c or a stud #1 goalie , who would you rather have? As much as i want raymond and want him right now if someone told me he’d end up being a 2nd line player popping 50 pts and askarov is competing for vezina’s yearly id change my mind and take askarov at 4 but we dont have that knowledge till later on again , stevie’s picking so nothing that happens on draft day should shock anyone (ill still smash s*** if i hear perfetti’s name)
-
Pius suter is coming to north america ,24 and top scorer in swiss league ... we added brome and have a ton of kids fighting for spots and more importantly horrible contracts to get rid of but should we be considering taking a chance? i wouldnt have but i seen he played with bertuzzi and fabbri at guelph .... could be something to consider
-
I can understand why youd be hesitant but i do think hes the real deal and can totally see yzerman pick him at 4 or trade back and taking him ... im all for lucas raymond but i wouldnt be flipping s*** unlike if it was rossi (sorry dont want a smurf who’ll be tossed around in the playoffs)or a perfetti(if we take him its only cause his buddies told him to ) lIke i said our division is extremely tough and someone else might even add lafraniere so i can totally see yzerman thinking we have to build a strong d core and a top goalie to fight back Hopefully we add more assets to move up ,unless yzerman goes nuts and trades mantha for a top 10 pick and take askarov .... im sure loads of wings fans would love that lol
-
Ya dont expect askarov at 25 and later , if we want him we have to draft him at 4 or trade back .... OR like you said take on a bad contract for a 1st and package more assets to get into 8-14 range but i dont know of anyone who would do a 1st from this years draft Canucks with eriksson come to mind but i believe their first was already dealt? Anyways as amazing as it would be to draft raymond and askarov i cant see it happening sadly

Ya hard pass on holtby

Maybe its just me butt I dont remember makar and pettersson being touted as top 2-3 guys? Hughes likely would have fallen to us if Kotkaniemi didnt come out of nowhere and arizona taking hayton , certainly earlier than 7 i wanted stutzle/byfield but im really loving raymond now , he was a highly touted #3 pick all year and he started getting fed few minutes of ice time per game which i think dropped his stock . Theres 6 games for raymond/holtz next season before the draft , maybe the best thing for us is if raymond goes off for like 10 pts in 6 games and yzerman will have no choice but to take him .... unless we end up with stutzle cause of it , either way we win .
-
I can totally see it happening , if hes suppose to be that damn good we might have no choice . If lafraniere ends up being in our division .... ottawa coming up + byfield/stutzle ... bos,tb, tor ...mtl has nice prospect pool , if buff ever turns it around what f***en chance will we ever have? Our best chances might be to add a star goalie and add a hell of a blue line .... im all in for lucas raymond but it wouldnt surprise me at all to end up like #9-10 and end up with askarov and a few more picks ... scouts rarely salivate this much for goalie prospects so i do think he’ll make an impact If someones a cant miss prospect like askarov theres a zero chance they drop to 2nd ..l ugh i really f***en envy ottawa man if im them im trading up with that 3rd 1st and using some of those many assets and possibly end up stutzle drysdale askarov .... ughhh Really wish we had another first f***, oh well
-
Im smashing s*** if we take perfetti , if the wings didnt fall back perfetti wouldnt even be mentioned as a top 5 pick ... that should say something . Dont take him cause he plays for your buddys team , id rather listen to hakan andersson and pick raymond . I think the one and only time we took a swede in the first from i remember is kronwall. Hakan must be salivating at taking a top swedish prospect for once

Using our cap space to get assets
nyqvististhefuture replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Oh for sure thats why id demand 2 firsts to start with considering its 16.5 mill , maybe the islanders wouldnt give that up but goodluck finding a team who’ll take that contract for just a first . And considering they have 10 mill cap space and barzal alone will likely fetch most of that id say theyll be paying big to get rid of $ . I heard boychucks name being tossed around but last i checked hes like 35 and slowing down so i cant see too many teams jumping at him but i guess if they tossed us a 1st for boychuck id do it You forgot toffolli, theres rumors now they want to trade boeser which makes zero sense to me .... i think we should pick a forward this draft but if were dead set on drysdale id try and maybe see if a hronek for boeser deal can work ? See if benning bites i suspect the first player theyll trade is jake allen , no problem taking him on if they shoot us a 2nd + .... steen has a ntc so might be more difficult to convince him to come here but id have no problem taking both on for 1st + and then eating half of steen’s salary and flipping him for more picks .... that actually might be the best move for us since they both have 1 year and can maybe end up with a 1st and 2nd from stl? Then flip steen for a 3rd? Sadly after watching what happened to san jose i doubt we’ll get a unprotected 1st from anyone and unless its a real contender like tb i doubt wed get a 2022 1st atm and im not sure how 2020 draft will work , think canucks dont have a 1st and i think the draft is a few days after the season ends so maybe its all too rushed ? Sadly i dont think were in a position of power atm to demand the years Im still pissed off we lost out on the marleau deal , should have been a no brainer ... i know their in our division but if we offered a 3rd back or some better return we could possibly have gotten like the 20th pick and moved up for askarov ... oh well -
Using our cap space to get assets

Ya its still early for larsson and petruzzelli among a few other goalies we have but im hopeful one works out , as for ufa goalie not too many options id be ok with a greiss to share duties with bernier for now and as for the draft it wouldnt shock me at all if we end up trading back and taking askarov -
Using our cap space to get assets
nyqvististhefuture replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Oh im well aware we’d be lucky to have 1 move or even 2 for that matter after last off season , was just having a little fun. Id make as many moves as possible but its never that easy in real life Well after seeing backes with just one year left fetch a 1st and a prospect who was a 2nd rounder id want at least the same for eriksson whos got 2 yrs etc... but yes im aware some like the tb might be unrealistic as i mentioned above , but i do think with teams being cash strapped they might have to give up something for someone to take a palat/johnson etc... contenders are cash strapped atm and tampa doesnt want to take money back. With us being a rebuilding team and not going anywhere with johnson anyways why would we give up assets at this stage? But anyways i get your point , even though in the same division mtl has a s*** ton of picks and can easily give up a 2nd and 3rd for johnson (although they have a ton of guys to sign in a year) You said it might cost a bit more to take ladd but we wont get 2 firsts and a prospect .... so is it gonna cost more or less? Reason i asked for that is cause he still has 3 years left on his deal at 5.5 . Thats alot of money for us to take on for just a 1st , if islanders want us or anyone else to take on 16.5 million itll cost a ton. Its not my money so i got no problem trading for him and burying him in the minors with abdelkader Lehner first choice , greiss if we want to go shorter term ... as for drafting a goalie it all depends whos there in the 2nd , i think we can get a decent goalie at 63/65 .... and if we can get like alnefelt off tampa or some young goalie prospect off another team in some deal involving taking back salary even better I do think we have some potential in larsson, petruzelli etc.. but who knows whatll happen there -
Id have no problem trying out a galchenyuk whos young enough and if he goes back to 20-25 goal pace can fetch us a 2nd+ please dont bring up howard lol ... if we get a goalie to just one year greiss would be perfect but if we sign a goalie x1 then after next season we’ll have zero goalies locked up
-
We have nothing to jump start at the moment , why would we want to lock up guys to 3 year deals when we have guys we need to get rid of first ... nielsen, abdelkader, helm etc... + adding in guys in the next 2-3 seasons hopefully in rasmussen,veleno,#4 pick , smith, brome, berggren smith just turned 22 in february... we have way too many bottom line guys on this team , if we can get rid of some hed be a nice fit , he can fight and brings a physicality we lack We shouldnt be signing anyone unless its for short term deals to flip them at the deadline to add more picks , i could be wrong but galchenyuk is a prime candidate, wont get many suitors and if he can bounce back it would net us a nice return . Namesnikov could get a 3/4 year deal depending his cap Why would we ever want to bring sam gagner back? We wouldnt even be able to flip him , if were gonna sign a center to a one year deal maybe go for a soderberg or brassard Anyways i doubt anyone significant would want to come here , best course of action it to take on a bad contract for assets , sign a few short term guys , maybe yzerman gets lucky with seattle coming and can pry a few good kids off a team, we’ll see
-
Both will probably be around the 4 million mark? Id only sign galchenyuk to come here one year deal with the hope of him coming around with more ice time in detroit and trading him at the deadline for hopefully multiple picks(i dont think he’ll have many options for a yearly salary around 4 per) namesnikov will get multiple seasons , pass on him we got enough crap on 2+ seasons locked up ... not saying hes crap but we need to get rid of countless deadweight , adding galchenyuk and maybe a schultz on d would only be for one year deals to trade them , and if someone like schultz asks for 2 yrs maybe id consider it only if yzerman knows hes willing to trade his ass at the deadline regardless , we were the worst team in the league and had f*** all to sell at the deadline for it , it was a pitiful deadline . Id like to add a few more assets to get rid of after That being said yzerman already has deadweight to get rid of and guys like givani smith pushing for a spot. We’re not ready to start signing top ufa’s to detroit and compete ... only chance of that happening is us getting rid of nielsen, abdelkader etc... and signing pietrangelo, krug, hall, lehner ... and then regretting it 5 yrs down the line Best course of action is keep it going , add a few bad contracts to get high assets back ,sign a galchenyuk type and hope you can get a 2nd + back and let the kids compete
-
Lol im not mad was all jokes and im not worried about perfetti to wings rumors its all good
-
This is all jibba jabba , Post the raymond stuff
-
Hed be lucky to get a 1 yr x4 mill deal from anyone
-
Yes im livid at your nonsensical rants sure Fabbri will die on the ice ,thus never leaving us ... got it
-
Dude im not like you , i dont say s*** and then pretend i didnt thats your schtick ... again i never said i hated the trade , i didnt care about it ... i said scrap for scrap and i got no problem saying it Did he play better than expected? Yes but im not gonna get all wet cause of a short sample like you did (kinda like you did with hirose’s 10 game stretch but ya lets pretend you didnt).. unless yzerman ends up dealing some of the top line guys away and zadina and prospects we have coming + the 4th pick tanks fabbri will most likely not even be here in 3 yrs thats just the truth,he might even get hurt way before done for all we know perlini absolutely sucked balls . End of discusson, not every former failed 1st rounder rebounds... you made a silly suggestion , in what world do you think a cup contending team like tampa bay is NOW going to take a possibly 5-10 pick and deal away a 22 yr old kid whos putting up 35-45 pts ... their window is now not in 5 yrs waiting for that kid to develop Teams arent trading away top tier players , which is why we take chances on players and hope it pans out ... thats the only way ... someone like a carlsson, bean etc... a team whos stacked at a position willing to make a move with a kid who’s future is unknown And I’ll make sure to let hirose know your love for him is gone
-
I misrepresent someones point? Put words in their mouth ... ha look whos f***en talking ..... i was never pissed off about the fabbri trade so i dont know where your coming up with this bs , i found it laughable how everyones talking like hes the next star i never said i hated the trade , not once ... delarose never had a future here perlini trade i hated , and you wouldnt shut up from day one about how much upside he had and you made excuses for him all season You brought up making trades for guys who wont get dealt , i made a suggestion in making a deal for someone with upside and mentioned carlsson as an example as sergachev was a dman but think we’re pretty good with our d prospect pool anyways im done with this nonsense
-
Im pretty sure you were high at some point on hirose and was strongly against the thought of trading him ... but anyways i wanted us to draft carlsson , ive never heard you mention the guy once and now your high on him? Point is hes 23 so who knows what he’ll turn into or if he’ll even be an nhler longterm, nobody knows ... thats the point of making a deal like that and hoping he turns into something .... newsflash nobodys gonna trade you an elite player for a 2nd round pick , you just have to take some chances and hope you luck out Anyways our d prospect pool is pretty solid and im not worried about adding more ... this was fun
-
And i guess now’s your turn not to be logical ... s*** happens Sure call him , call any gm to have any convo about any player you want to inquire about but at the end of the day tampa will move a player or two ... they have no choice I agree with doing everything possible to get more assets which is why i brought up galchenyuk and maybe a justin schultz on one year prove me deals ... theyll likely use detroit to boost numbers and get a better contract elsewhere and we ship them off at the deadline hopefully for decent picks Am i missing something? When did you become a lucas carlsson fan? Last i checked hirose put up strong numbers in the ahl , both 23 , both ahlers ... im sure hawks are looking for offensive help ... not saying hirose will have a strong nhl career but i think he might have a good shot to make it , just not here As for carlsson who knows what he’ll turn into or if he’ll even succeed ... hawks have keith, seabrook, maatta,de haan, boqvist, koekkoek, murphy in the lineup as of today , who knows what theyll do come july 1 and trades so carlsson being a hawk at 23 is far from a sure thing Same with detroit for that matter ... think its a pretty even trade , maybe throw in a 4-6th pick, didnt you like hirose at one point? So now you suddenly love carlsson and think hirose is garbage? Ha
-
Sergachev seems like a sure thing what the hell makes you think theyd trade him for what can be a 5-10 pick who we dont know what will turn into? Last i checked tampa is trying to win the cup NOW ... come on dude Boqvist, beaudin, vlasic, mitchell, regula, carlsson Maataa,de haan, murphy ... seabrook + keith ... wont be able to fit in all those kids at d and id say carlsson would be ranked 5-6 from the d prospect pool in their eyes , i dont think the cost to aquire him would be alot
-
Hedman and mcdonaugh are also pretty much all they have and are like 8 yrs older than sergachev so i highly doubt accepting an offer sheet for him would ever happen. I know they have cal foote but hes still an unproven commodity which is the type of player id go for , i been saying for the longest time we should target teams young d prospects before they become really good and hope one pans out (like tampa did with sergachev) right now theyd trade a johnson, palat etc... way before a 22 yr old dman whos putting up 35-45pts Wings right now are strong at d in the prospect pool , wouldnt mind a young dman with upside that wouldnt cost too much with where we’re at . I always wanted lucas carlsson who got drafted by the hawks and who are stacked at d , if we can pull off a hirose for carlsson deal id do it. Hirose wont be here longterm anyways anyways something like that , and maybe sign a few free agents to flip at the deadline , rid of bowey and a few others for picks to make room for kids and thats about it for the off season
-
I know your trying to be a wise ass but he got dealt basically before ever playing ... tampa wont let him go unless a teams stupid enough to offer like 10 mill per You wanna think otherwise , go ahead
