All i know is we cant afford to f*** this draft up and id rather stay away from the 5’8 kid and get someone just as good or better who also happens go be bigger If we had askarov and he turned into a vasilevsky type to add to seider and hronek on the back end that can be a game changer for our franchise . As good as he is im hoping things stay as is or we dont drop 3 back

He might be a good player but whens the last time you seen a 5’8 forward excel in the playoffs outside of pat kane maybe? Dont recall gaudreau making serious noise or anyone of that height in a long time . Not saying he wont be a good player but like you said this pick is important as s*** Now im hoping to god and id like to believe we wont get f***ed over and fall back to 4th but if thats the case and those 3 are gone i wouldnt be against taking at 4 or trading back a spot or 2 ans taking askarov/drysdale and solidify the back end of our team for 10 years with seider+hronek (obviously would also love raymond/holtz) I know its a possibility but i dont even want to think about 4th place right now

I wouldnt even think twice about it ,doubt fabbri alone fetches a 1st due to only having played 30 games but if we can we’d have to do it , even throw in a bowey if need be Team that comes to mind is vegas, they seem desperate enough to get in the playoffs and both bowey and fabbri’s contracts are cheap enough it can probably work out . We have to consider all options

Was looking at our trade options this year for the deadline and we definetly got f***ed with everyone just having a god awful season and had me thinking to 2021 unless they get dealt we’ll have nemeth/helm/glendening/filppula .... dmen are usually in demand so “maybe” we’d be lucky to find someone to give us a 2nd for nemeth but likely not , maybe glendening but again likely not Was thinking we should target 1-2 guys july 1 for one year deals with the sole intention of using them as bait . Kovalchuk comes to mind , he was s*** in l.a for whatever reason but so far in mtl hes been producing and if he can be had on a one year deal so long as its nothing crazy like 5+ id consider it other forward options jimmy vesey , carl soderberg,erik haula , tyler toffoli, alex galchenyuk d options (and the likeliest target july 1) bogosian,schultz,shattenkirk,bouwmeester anyways point is we should look to add more potential trade bait for next year . Im just not comfortable with a 12 pt lead for last spot, as awful as we are i feel like we should have way more of a lead to get guaranteed top 4 pick. Yes we’re likely not to draft a star in the 2nd round but if we have 3-4 cracks at it our chances increase . Theres always players that slip through the cracks , now i don’t know if he’ll be an nhler or how good he will be but i really wanted fagemo with our 2nd rounder last year and he finished on top at the world juniors in pts . I just want as much picks as possible in the top 2 rounds to increase our chances of getting great players cause no one will trade those players I don’t see kapanen as anything special that’s all ,id see our #1 line bert/lar/man ahead of him +zadina,veleno,1st next draft and then theres a bunch of kids fighting for spots like rasmussen so he’d be a 3rd liner .
