I love yzerman doesn’t mean I’m gonna be a blind sheep and agree with every single move he’ll ever make , Don’t forget Wright and others were here before yzerman and they were at the draft table this weekend so outside of pick #6 I’m sure yzerman heavily relied on them .... check our recent draft history last 10 years and it’s nothing to write home about We had four solid dmen in 2017 and went for size in Rasmussen , we had opportunities its all nice to say hakan knows more than us but sadly he hasn’t produced anything really in 10 years , I’ll be the first one to come back here and happily say I was wrong if johansson becomes a first pair star dman , just with the recent history I’m not going to get too excited

Realistically who are the players you guys think yzerman will call for the free agency period? jake Gardner? Think yzerman will target but I hope he stays far away he’s no doubt gonna be targeting a 6-7 year deal in the 6-8 per range . Pass Stralman ? Can see yzerman good for back to his old roots and targeting stralman but I’d only be interested on a 2 year deal and if we can trade both ericsson and Daley out of town phaneuf? I’d possibly target him x1 again if ericsson and Daley are gone and hope he can have a decent enough year where he can fetch us a 3rd at the deadline , maybe the same with Andrew MacDonald Spezza? If we could somehow manage to get assets now for neilson and sign spezza x1 with again , sole purpose of using as trade deadline bait I’d do that , maybe the same with brassard?pominville? wayne simmonds ? Our system can be thin on defense and we can try and fix it but I just don’t agree with the way we did it , everyone here knows how much I love podkolzin and how I think teams will look very stupid for passing on him but I also wanted to trade athanasiou although some fans wanted nothing to do with dealing him to move up and get seider so i got no problem getting seider just pissed we got him at 6 due to Holland’s wet dream of him so it is what it is I’d personally would have got Matthew Robertson over tuomisto who I see as a more offensive dman we could have used on a top Ppl some day ... is what it is , we’ll never know but if we liked Albert so much we could have grabbed him at 66 and with 54 and 60 I would have went for puistola and leason , maybe one day I’ll look like a f***en moron but that’s what I would have liked and no I’m not a head scout but those guys weren’t taken too far off from us so are those guys morons for taking them?and Albert grewe if we liked him so much maybe we could have dealt the Vegas 2021 3rd with a team to draft him anyways it’s over now , we’ll see where these guys from the 2019 draft are at in 2-4 years

Krupp and seidenberg were good nhl players and not star guys which is what we should be aiming for with a 6th pick , hopefully seider becomes the first real big German star outside draisaitl

Yup I believe in a few years when he’s scoring a ton next to mcdavid we’ll be seeing a lot more people here popping up and complaining we passed I agree with you man , even leason was available , puistola .... If seider turns out to be a bottom 4 dman from the #6 pick considering what we left on the table I’d be hugely dissapointed , think he has the potential to be a really good #2 but I’m still gonna be hoping he turns into a #1 , just have my reservations just look back at all the nhl German d’s And none were a star . We’ll always have 2018 r.i.p to the 2019 wings scouts who will get fired one day cause of this draft and don’t know it yet I can pretty tell you the chances of us landing star players from this draft outside of maybe seider are slim to none , 2018 blows this draft we won’t pretend we’re better than the scouts , Fine but let’s not pretend we didn’t draft over positional need this year countless times instead of taking the guys with upside right now I’m just expecting grewe to be a 3rd liner and another dman to be a 3rd pair guy I don’t see anyone with huge ceiling we’d better f***en hope tuomisto and these other punks we took turn into steal or we’ll look back in a few years and look back and laugh at the guys we passed on in disbelief this is 2017 again with like Rasmussen and other guys .... im not a fan of the draft at all , I’ll root for the kids and hope every kids a star but I’m not gonna count on it
