Time will tell what happens with holmstrom ,itll take years to see what becomes of these guys, we traded for sadowy and turgeon and they might not be anything special either had a feeling leafs would claim marchenko when I saw the leafs dcore last night when I looked around + Babcock connection anyone know how many teams put in a claim?

I would be really surprised if he clears , dmen are always high in demand and he's 25 and right handed and he really hasn't had enough games to determine if his career is over think he gets picked quite early by like Arizona , thanks for the heads up I'll check dreggers tweets as for hakan Anderssen , I was thinking about how long it's been since he drafted a gem when I wrote it and yes it's been a while, guess im just hopeful ... I think ryno could have been an NHL player(not saying a star)but wanted to go back home,some people just don't wanna do the ahl route as for axel holmstrom maybe I'm naive but I think there's something there , maybe it's nostalgia with the last name or breaking the sedin twins record for the playoffs , at the least I'm hopeful he can be a good bottom 6 who really steps up his game in the playoffs (we can always use that) i for one am looking forward to seeing him come down next year

It's not 2 years really , seasons almost done and then next season.... I seriously doubt ken holland called 29 teams and offered marchenko is there a way of finding out how many teams put a claim on a player ?? I can see a handful of teams putting a claim but I can see an early team like Arizona getting, can also see buffalo and leafs having interest I wouldn't get too excited and hope sproul and Russo get significant ice time cause marchenko isn't here not with Blashill and holland running the show

This always makes me laugh , if a team likes someone and they have to hope 20-25 teams pass then why take the risk?

He's been a healthy scratch cause we been dumb enough to keep guys like ericsson around and creating a logjam at the back end by delaying progressions off several dmen (Jensen should of had a look last season ) if waste of space kindl can fetch a 6th then marchenko sure as hell can fetch a 7th, I think it says something that he was a +6 on this awful Team , like you said hes just a good defensive defensemen, but coaches always like those , he sure as hell gets claimed in my opinion i do agree with you and krsmith that marchenko was the one to lose over ouellet Jensen sproul, I'm happy sproul is around cause he hasn't been given much playing time and has untapped potential

Wouldn't put too much stock into that , this whole team is a mess , we prevented guys like AA and Mantha from playing more, and playing guys like ericssons,sheahan nonstop along with ouellet marchenko is the only dmen in Detroit with a positive +\- (+6) Hes not a star but we should of got a 7th rounder. ... 110% he gets claimed due to age

Jesus Christ is it possible to get an asset for any player ??? Yes im well aware he's a third pairing dman , but he's right handed(in demand) and young ....not even a 7th??? We just lost a player to keep smith who will get traded in a few weeks , should of just dealt smith now , wouldn't surprise me at this point to see vanek on waivers

They don't sheahan has zero goals and continue to play with no consequences , fans begged for mantha and athanasiou to get more ice time and kept getting shafted fans want ericsson benched but still plays, Tatar and nyquist have severe downside seasons and no repercussions mrazek struggles on an awful team and we forget he's just starting out and turning 25 and ready to trade him meanwhile Howard's been underachieving for years ,33 and he plays good for 2 months and we forget all the bad times amazing

It's amazing how many people are ready to throw mrazek under the bus and deal him Howard is 33 and done soon, Coreau has shown no signs of being a star goalie ,once Howard's gone in 2 years then what?we have no goalies in the pipeline , we'll be a disaster for 7-10 yrs the way I see it jeff lash illness is the problem ,he keeps messing mrazek about, he won 2 games recently and back to Coreau we go .. Petr needs 3-5 games to get his confidence going nyquist and Tatar are also having horrible years as well mantha and athanasiou being messed about while guys like sheahan with 0 goals keep playing go is just nonsense sproul being benched repeatedly while Ericsson still baffling point is Blashill is the main problem in this team , all these baffling moves have caused a lot of down years for a lot of guys mrazek included , he's turning 25 soon and is way too young to just give up on we trade mrazek away it might turn out to be a mistake we never recover from

I hope to god your not talking about Frederic andersen of the goalies is you mentioned the realistic options are Howard,Kinkaid and Raanta, thing is they can't take all 3 and have 10-12 committed to goaltending and it all defends who's available and the price tag upfront and back end if they select Raanta and Kinkaid they'll likely select a goalie with upside and Coreau has some as well as others , the more Coreau plays the more chances are he catches some attention not saying he's a sure pick to get picked but he's definetly someone to look at

this team is so preoccupied with making the playoffs they keep over playing the veterans and dont realize feeding mantha athanasiou and larkin more ice time is what gives us a better chance at one point in the game i saw mantha playing with miller and glendening for f***s sake, this coach is so clueless ... and he kept praising jurco and he had like 6 minutes of ice after 2 periods, at this point i just feel bad for the guy and just trade him , he needs to get away from blashill firing blashill is something id do but we all know it wont happen , he has no idea how to use his guys , sheahan has 0 goals but he doesnt sit a few games and get his ass kicked , ericsson is ateocious game after game and a kid like sproul who we can use on a powerplay still sitting down and regressing anyways with trade deadline coming ..... trade ericsson(no way hes worthy to have played a full career with one team) trade brendan smith , we have an overflow of dmen and hes a ufa , have to save spots for other guys trade ott and possibly vanek depending our position and the return

murray and vasilevsky have a 0% chance of being exposed.... 0 pickard is 50/50 hes younger and varlamov has been horrendous+ varlamov is a ufa in 2 yrs, so why risk losing the younger goalie ,no way mazanec,broissoit,and ullmark and others in there are ahead of coreau and gets picked .... subban has been brutal you seem to forget vegas is picking 3 goalies and can pick 2 of those goalies and a veteran guy , what makes coreau any worse than those mentioned above?? hes had 920+ save percentage every season in the ahl and the coach is exposing further more by relying on him now you watch , mrazek will get the blame for yesterdays loss even though jonathan shouldnt be in the nhl anymore was on the ice for 3 goals and just a disaster as usual nhl teams are looking for goalies with size now , thats the new thing and coreau is 6'6 with good upside

Such as ??? Coreau is cheap and has upside ... I'm sure Vegas will look at cheap options out there with upside potential who's 25 and under with good potential with size and a cheap contract , and undrafted means nothing these days

Vegas are selecting 3 goalies , for sure they'll select someone 25 and under with upside , the more I think about it I think the chances are good they'll select howard since fleury will probably get dealt and they'll need someone capable of playing 50-65 games they also have a bottom cap to hit and regardless of what bettmans saying Vegas will end up with a lot of scraps

ReI'm more worried about losing a young guy like coreau , the more Blashill plays him the more i believe we risk losing him (think Vegas will select a lot more younger players with upside than people might think) also worried about bertuzzi, anyone know if he's eligible to be claimed? id protect mrazek dekeyser-ouellett-sproul mantha-athanasiou-Nielsen-nyquist-tatar-abdelkader-bertuzzi assuming bertuzzi can be claimed and Tatar and nyquist aren't dealt (otherwise protect zetterberg,although I do think he will be protected) green has one year left so we shouldn't waste a spot on him,kronwall is injury prone and has term helm is also injury prone so leave him exposed

i heard pierre McGuire on the radio talking about how the canucks regret giving up gustav forsling and how good he was forsling and a 2018 1st for Tatar ??? I'd have no problem waiting till 2018 since I heard this year isn't as strong anyways and if we're lucky maybe they'll drop to 20-22nd spot

Well I did say "players" who win those awards tend not be busts and to be fair there's a lot of impressive players there (a lot more nhlers than busts) but yes the goalies who won the awards aren't as impressive as the forwards But I did see price,rask,lehtonen,Theodore,fleury and mason. Who had good/long careers and Gibson is currently playing , and who knows about the ones the last 5 years (goalies take longer to develop) its way too soon to write mrazek off as a bust
