He was dominant in the world juniors and won the best goalie in the tournament award (players who win those types of awards don't tend to be busts) help lead the the griffns to the Calder cup , stolen some big games in the post season already where as Howard has always disappointed you keep forgetting one big important fact , mrazek will be 25 and Howard 33 that's a big gap ... Howard is going on the decline where as mrazek is on the rise , I'm more worried of losing coreau to Vegas dallas and islanders need a goalie... Howard has already said he'd accept a trade , just a matter of time He's gonna be a ufa , parting with any of those 3 would be a monumental mistake

He never should have Been brought back to begin with , couldn't we have got a 7th rounder ? Surely a cup contender will claim him for depth makes me wonder if Kenny is just addicted to the waiver wire to see if his guys go unclaimed

sadly i think jurco is as good as gone ,blashill bitched about how talented he was and we can all see how he dominated the ahl(yes im aware its a different league) but he never really gave him a shot , always tried to make him a 4th liner way before mantha showed up should of given him a 10 game trial on the top 6 at least , sadly with all the forwards we have i think hes as good as gone ... if a team like chicago picked him up and put him on with a toews i think it could be greatly beneficial to them

if he was so established we wouldnt be having problems to trade him contract or not (we tried in the off season so teams had time to fix their cap) i do know mrazek has already done more than howard has and hes 7 years younger , howards never won anything or stolen a series and most likely never will ... howards been mediocre here for years and now sts hes had a great 20-25 games you want to keep him??? teams should always sell players when the stock is high, now (or the off season) is the time to trade him if we can lets not forget our defense has been awful this season , mrazek will bounce back he just needs to be fed more starts to get going, and we obviously need help on the back end as for howards no trade clause , hes already agreed to waive it , we just couldnt find a taker

Wow you guys are f***en nuts , Howard plays good for 20-25 games after years of being mediocre and all of a sudden you want to keep the guy who's 7-8 years older who we know will Never win anything yes mrazek has been struggling but the kid will bounce and needs more starts .... If ericsson goes +20 next 20 games should we all forget he sucks? islanders/stars/blues need a goalie so we might be able to ship howard id love trade helm and abdelkaders contract but I already see them on the 4th line and holland saying its a luxury to have them(7-8million combined) to help the kids

Tonight is jensens 10th game so that means he'll have to clear waivers right? Do we just lose Jensen or sproul on waivers or trade smith since he's a ufa and get something ??

Nielsen isn't a horrible player but he's nowhere near an NHL all star , and we'll be regretting that long ass contract he got in a few years won't happen but we should try moving him and keep vanek as he's surprisingly turned out to be a great fit and we can't keep both

I'm probably naive and maybe just hopeful but I think it's too soon to be talking about this stuff, as bad as we been we still have a shot in the top 3 of our division I can't for the life of me believe that nyquist and sheahan will go the rest of the way with 2-5 goals combined , they have to wake up at some point , Larkin has to break out , mantha is an emerging threat ,athanasiou is coming, abdelkader soon arriving ... I just think we'll be in the hunt so holland won't deal assets ... But for the hell of it vanek - could fetch a late first , if not 2nd and maybe an additional mid pick green - don't think he gets moved , but maybe a second and a mid level prospect miller - 7th rounder/future considerations smith - 3rd rounder , maybe a 7th on another year as well if we're lucky zero chance of trading Ericsson and Howard , also unlikely but I'd like to see us deal a tatar/nyquist to the ducks for a carlsson/Theodore , gotta take a risk on a promising young dman, no ones gonna give us an elite dman

Man I can't believe how many people were pushing for mantha to get dealt for a dman , yes we need some defensemen but we also need scoring and we don't have anyone with mantha's size,skating ability and finish only reason he took time to breakout this season is cause of Blashill's line management (athanasiou is currently getting the blashill treatment ) Hope to God we stop using mantha in the front on the powerplay just because of his size , his strength is his shot for gods sake I'd also like to see mantha play with larkin/athanasiou

Ty rattie is on waivers , any takers? I remember him scoring tons of goals in the juniors and geting 30+ in his first ahl season , for whatever reason he hasn't gotten a fair shot and since it seems we're doing the same with jurco , we might as well send jurco down and claim rattie as for gm role , I'd fire Blashill for his awful lineups he keeps putting out there and get Coreau back down asap before he gets the attention of Vegas , still hasn't proven much but he has upside and Vegas will pick 3 goalies

Point was I'd be more ok for me to include mantha in a package deal for someone like oel, i know mantha alone wouldn't be enough and if they'd also want Larkin then forget it I'd personally just wait those 4 years, like I said were not winning the cup anyways , and we have a star goalie in mrazek to help us win lots of games we shouldn't yes it's very hard to get a top pairing dman but it's almost or just as hard to get a top goal scoring winger with mantha's size , yes he's doing it in the ahl but he's just got all the tools and abilities to translate that to the NHL , he missed NHL training camp and pre season and struggled in his first ahl season and I'm willing to bet that delayed his progress I think 2 years into his NHL career we'll all be grateful we didn't trade him .... I love athanasiou and his speed and abilities and don't want to trade him but I'd part with him before mantha as I think his upside is much higher trust me I'd love to have trouba here , we just might have to wait and likely will, Ryan sproul has been looking good which will help, just sucks though I been hearing we might lose ouellet on waivers which is just stupid

Potential number 1 , If it was ekman Larsson I'd reconsider , just think since we won't be cup contenders next few seasons we can wait for trouba to be a ufa in 4 years and come back home (I'm convinced he'd come to Detroit the second he gets the chance) and that way we keep both and it's not easy to add a high end winger these days either, mantha scored again tonight and I think given the right chance he'd really succeed ,wings should use him for his shot on the powerplay and not use his size to park him in front that's not his job, give those roles to abdelkader and sheahan, he was never used good

For us to land trouba were gonna need him to be pushing behind the scenes for a trade to his hometown i also believe we'd need the ducks to get involved for this of happen since the jets want some d help back and our best trade chips are nyquist/Tatar Ducks scored 2 goals again yesterday and are 0-2 , think the better thing for us to hope they keep losing and scoring few goals ... A Tatar/nyquist on getzlaf's wing can fetch 25-30 goals I think because they want to shed salary to resign Rackell/lindholm they'd probably want Tatar, although his salary would go up after this season i read something above about bieksa and how the ducks would like to include bieksa with fowler to shed salary and by doing that his movement clause would be cancelled ? it won't happen but id do something like a nyquist/smith trade for fowler and bieksa and then trade fowler and bieksa with some part of his contract paid +a 3rd let's say for trouba anyways we need the ducks to keep losing to land fowler and flip him since they are stacked with promising dmen they won't trade for trouba

Athanasiou and mantha are being kept out of the lineup cause they can't play defence yet we let in 6 goals ... Ha predict at athanasiou will be inserted in soon and put on a bottom line to kill penalties rather than using his speed to create offense We should really force our way into getting trouba , god I hope he's trying to force his way into being traded to Detroit behind the scenes, ducks scored 2 goals last night , hopefully they continue to struggle on offense and are willing to make some deals and go for a Tatar/nyquist (they also have to shed salary to resign lindholm and Rackell) 3 way deal with the ducks jets and wings just make too much sense ducks get tatar/nyquist jets get fowler wings get trouba obviously a few picks/players would have to be added here and there
