Extending Luke doesn't piss me off, it's more the signings of Miller and ott and thus putting the kids in the back burner yet again I just don't understand what the hurry with getting the contract done was though? Couldn't wait till after the expansion draft?i swear if we end up using one of our spots for the expansion draft on Luke ... And his cap hit is 500k too much , but with it being under 2 million if we actually wanted to trade Luke on day I don't think it would be a hard contract to move

Can't simply determine a players worth by looking at a chart , by your logic any Joe from the streets who never watched hockey before can see who's a better player just by looking at analytics Anyways that's all I'll say about this I seen a lot of people already losing it about this analytics debate so I won't keep this going on and to be honest I'd much rather talk about how this team can be greatly improved through some trades for the upcoming season as we clearly need a lot of help on the back end If he remotely has any value due to his performances on team canada he should be included in a package deal if needed

You think hakan Anderson used advanced analytics when he got us zetterberg and datsyuk? Holmstrom etc.... He used his eyes , saw the potential , saw the stick handling with his eyes, the playmaking, a players hustle and determination .... Charts don't tell you that stuff ... A players circumstance , mediocre linemates , lack of point totals playing on a bad team (and it doesn't mean just because someone has lot of points it means they are a good player ) etc... Could some of these stats be useful ? Sure but they shouldn't determine whether or not you go after a player

Neither is a bonafied sniper but nyquist proved on that run he had that he can score , put him with getzlaf and he gets 25-30 easy And I'm sure once Tatar's contract is up he's also likely gonna look at 4-5 per as well

Agree with most you said , but to be fair yzerman's job is a lot easier for him being in Tampa bay , easier to convince people to go/stay in sunny Tampa bay with less taxes than doing a job in Columbus or elsewhere

Id try and put in a 2nd or 3rd rather than include that 3rd option and add a ouellet , as bad as our need for defensmen are I'm not sold on fowler , shattenkirk has one year left, and trouba as much as I want him he still hasn't proven he's a top pairing dman with big offensive numbers although I think he'll get there Nyquist+jurco+2nd rounder + ouellet. For trouba but I don't think jets would do this cause they have a ton of forwards and would want a good dman back and we don't have any unless we ship a dekeyser or kronwall (not kronwall alone but in a package I think jets would listen) Nyquist +pulkkinen +3rd rounder "should" be more then enough and probably is , say what you will about nyquist but put him with getzlaf and he's getting 25-30 Anyways I think we got the whole summer to relax and unwind cause I don't think holland will be in a hurry, if the ducks really want to move fowler they'll have to go with the best option, they won't get a first rounder or a teams top prospect for him Brad montour is also another player from the ducks we should target , they are stacked at d and might be willing to part with him as well

Nyquist and Tatar stayed in Grand Rapids like 4 years when most of us said they were ready (and they were) Redwings were always about the veterans , only way kids got a shot to prove themselves were cause we were forced to play them due to injuries Larkin is a special case
