Didn't know where to put this .... I was wondering if anyone's seen chase pearson play?? I know it's early but Just by looking at the stats it looks like we might have found someone worth keeping an eye out for He's practically doubled his point production this season ... 26 pts to 50 and his +/- nearly quadrupled from +9 to +33 Again , anyone seen him play and have any opinions on his play?

Damn f***ed up story , reminds me of last season after I read hudson faschings story it made me want to draft the kid cause of what he went through and he's turning out to be good prospect (f***) Maybe this Sean day kid will be good

It's always nice to look back and what could of been but the same goes forgot every single team , what bugs me is hearing leafs media saying they traded seguin and Hamilton for kessel .... Id say yes likely seguin would of been drafted but no one knows who they would of taken in the 2nd round Anyways like some have mentioned we traded away a lot of our first rounders and Lost guys to ufa like filppula hudler and traded guys like janmark(were gonna regret that deal for old man cole) and jarnkrok Anyways I know nobody is "star" yet but there's reasons to be highly optimistic with guys like Larkin athanasiou mantha and some other kids we have coming up like bertuzzi svechnikov and a star goalie in the making in mrazek Just have to get some help at d and just limit expectations for a couple of seasons while those kids get valuable playing time On a sidenote .... If the wings get rid of Ericsson/Howard and get significant cap space I say we trade for Bryan bickell if possible and tray and get a 3rd or both of them and send them our 4th and a bottom prospect and send bickell to Grand Rapids if need be That being said I know bickell is over paid but does someone know if that's the main reason he's not in the nhl now? For cap relieve? Can he skate enough to play? I know he had a big post season a few hears back and he's a big body that we could use , but I'd be more than content to get him and send him to the ahl if we could land a couple of 3rd rounders

We also drafted a lot of Europeans that never came over Remember having a lot of of hope in dick axelsson but I don't think he ever came to the ahl Goalie Daniel larsson didn't stick around long as well as Adam almqvist in the ahl , like wise Johan ryno Igor grigorenko was suppose to be good but got in a car crash and almost died and I'm sure that changed the player he was and could of been Mattias ritola didn't stick around too long , Jan Mursak .... Remember Christopher lofberg and Jesper samuelsson 2 swedes that were hit or miss picks from Anderson that obviously missed A lot of swedes and euro's who didn't pan out .... Guessing that's why we been drafting more NCAA players last few drafts 30 teams now ... Not as easy as it use to be to draft although I still got confidence in the scouts and as it was mentioned we traded a lot of picks back in the day

Why do you think marchenko will be here instead of ouellet though?any possibility marchenko was being played to be showcased? He's even playing for Russia as we speak which could be a good thing Personally I know it won't happen but I'd keep all 3 and keep sproul as the 7th and rotate him in with injuries and rotating him in between a few dmen I'd trade Ericsson to Edmonton/Dallas and not resign Quincey and try and make a trade with another team for a dman if possible , I know it though one of ouellet/marchenko will most likely be dealt though Won't happen but I'd also trade mike green to the oilers and pay 1 mill off the cap if need be ,he didn't impress me and I'd much rather have vatanen(I'd only go for vatanen if green could be dealt) as I see him as being a younger option and right now I think he'd be better on the ppl and put up more points But obviously the goal is to find a stud 1-2 dman but that's easier said than done

Just curious .... Who would most of you want to keep if one of marchenko or ouellet were to be traded in a deal? Gotta think sproul due to being right handed and 6'3 and capable of helping us on the powerplay we won't risk losing him on waivers and we're gonna give him a look since we had trouble scoring So I'm thinking marchenko/ouellet one of those will be dealt ... Marchenko is in the NHL now and none will put up huge numbers but I'd very much rather keep ouellet , he reminds me a bit of Vlasic As for Jensen ... Anyone have any opinions on him? He won NCAA award for best dman I believe , then a few years back he missed a whole season I think and he's gonna be 26 so gotta think he gonna be a depth guy? If someone claims him he'd have to be in the lineup correct? Can't see anyone putting him in the NHL right away unless he plays great in the exhibition games

oh for sure turgeon is way ahead of Aubry I don't mind that we have veteran defensemen in the ahl , Just wouldn't want them to count on the 50 limit contracts if they'll never make the NHL

Don't think paetsch counted on the 50 contract limit as I believe he didn't sign a 2 way deal? And I'm kinda hoping we don't waste a contract like that on lashoff as well Any chance Aubry could be in the 4th? Don't know much about him besides apparently how he's improved (not that it's worth much right now) .... Gotta say I like his size but when I saw he's 24-25 already I guess he'll never get an NHL look On the left side it says 44/50

Unfortunately don't think anaheim will be willing to part with lindholm .... As for vatanen I'd be down for him but only if we got rid of mike green as I see them being similar type d's although vatanen is better and younger but I see them both as being capable of putting up numbers but hardly being great defensively Mike green to Edmonton for a pick and we pay a million per off the cap and give vatanen 4-5 per year Otherwise forget vatanen and try and get a better dman and prospects from teams

So it says 44 out of 50 but with the ufa's we have and some rfa's could be more space for us to sign some guys Any idea what the plans gonna be with some of the rfa in Grand Rapids ? Think Aubry, Campbell, lashoff will be signed ? Can't imagine lashoff being given a 2 way deal, gotta think that ship has sailed McCollum is a ufa and have to think he knows he won't ever get a chance in detroit and try his luck elsewhere (not sure if he counted on the contract limit or not ) Anyways let's hope the wings try and sign another NCAA player or 2 , maybe invite some undrafted kids and give them a look as well

More reason to trade back a few times if possible and try and add as many top 60 picks as we can ... Yes there's some nice guys we can add at 16th but if we can end up having 3-4 picks in the top 60 even better For example Toronto last season drafted a lot of players I had my eye on last season (whether they turn out to be pro's we'll find out) and this year they have a total of 12 ... I'd love to see us get as many picks as possible , just keep stacking them We get rid of Howard and Ericsson and fill up the lineup with kids and have some cap space heck get Bryan bickell off the Hawks and bury him in Grand Rapids for the Hawks 2 3rd rounders if possible and send them our 4th and a jake Patterson or some other similar prospect

Won't get overly excited but there's no denying the kids got a talent for scoring goals ... Think we can both also agree he didn't get a fairly good chance along with athanasiou,mantha and other kids ... Giving someone 2-3 games and then putting them back on the 4th line won't help Could be dead wrong but I believe he could get 20 goals next season,same as mantha .... Just have to be consistent and give them 12-16 minutes per game, ppl time , top 3 lines at least Whether datsyuk actually returns or not he along with zetterberg has to go from 20+ to 18 minutes a night and we need to rest them at least 5-10 games ... More responsibilities to the kids is the only way we will find some other gems to come out and help the wings future

Well if no one wants datsyuks contract at a good price to save cash then f*** them ... Pavel only has one year left , we can free up cap space by getting rid of Howard and hopefully Ericsson And we have Quincey and Richards off the books this year .... We won't get ripped off , I'd much rather use pulkkinen in a package deal or give him some real ice time and see what he can do , than a throw in to get rid of a one year contract

I personally would trade the 16 to the jets if possible for the 22 and 36 Been reading up on some draft stuff online and checking out players Sure the 2 Finns going in the top 3 everyone knows about but I seen a few others who caught my eye that we can look at later in the draft Number 9 euro rated prospect henrik borgstrom , gonna turn 19 later after the draft and put up some good numbers in Finland , like 50+ pts I believe and is going the NCAA route next season, and he stands at 6'3 The other one I believe was ranked 28th Otto koivula who's only 17 (turns 18 in September ) who's 6'4 220 and put up 50+ pts already http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=241338 I know most kids usually get passed over at that age but I'd love for us to risk it and hope he turns out to be a star As for defense there's 15 euro ranked Lucas carlsson who went undrafted last season and is gonna turn 19, and Stepan falkovsky who also went undrafted last season and stands at 6'7 and came down to North America to play in the juniors this last season Also like Dennis cholowski, Lucas johansen(Ryan johansen'a brother),Frederic allard,James greenway and Kenny Johnson (jack johnsons brother) Gonna keep reading around, alot of info out there .... I really don't get the stuff I read online about how the wings have to give up a good asset to get rid of datsyuks contract like its a big burden on a team If a budget team like Ottawa/Arizona want to spend the least amount of money possible then adding datsyuks contract is golden for them , they get to spend to the minimum which is a requirement and save 7.5 million dollars ... How is this datsyuks contract a big burden and we have to add a top draft pick or good prospect? If that's the actual asking price then obviously we suck it up since there's only one year left on his contract My thinking is datsyuks contract and a 4th in exchange for a 7th should be more than enough
