I picked DAL/WAS for the Finals and I'm sticking by it

Why do they lie to me?

Game winner to win it all

I'm glad that the team is trying to become more athletic. The past few years they went with slow guys that couldn't field but they sure could hit the ball. That was fine during the regular season but when they got to the postseason and had to face better pitchers and better defenses it was hard to hit doubles and homeruns, they could only go station to station on singles which were hard to string together. I hope that over the next few years they start to rebuild the farm system. Trade bait and future stars.

I don't really know if Jarnkrok will live up to his potential. Everything I've read about him has said that he'll be ready in a few years. After multiple years of reading that I just don't think he'll be the star he could have been.

They weren't ready for the size and relentlessness of Boston. I'm happy that they're getting the experience, it'll be very invaluable for them. -

I really hope this was Gustavsson's last game as a Red Wing. I can't tell you how many times I held my breath on something that wasn't a big deal because of him. -

We recently downgraded our DirecTV package so we no longer have NBCSN -
We don't really need any big name players, our prospects are the real deal. Get a second line winger for the PP and another D-man then let Pulkinnen get minutes in GR until the playoff push (unless he's still not ready).

I was wondering why people were calling Dats the future and talking about trading Lidstrom -
gdt ECQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Bruins 4 - Series tied 1-1
Jeff6851 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
What I was looking forward to before the series was some playoff experience for the young guys. With the prospects we have and the rookies already on the team, it looks like the Red Wings may be world beaters once again in a few years. Many other fans are jealous that we get to be in the playoffs, all of them are jealous we get to be there all the time (whether they admit it or not). And I'm glad we get the Bruins, a top team so our rookies get a real taste of the playoffs and perhaps we can make everyone feel fooish for doubting us. -

That way we'll have it -
Is there anything likable about Quincey?
-
He just can't get a break.
-
What I like about Rondon is that he is a Zumaya but his delivery has a lot less effort ergo he won't be injured for 100 games every season.
-
That's what he gets for choosing a not-so-good team for more money over a team that many hold in the highest regard.

It all ends tomorrow

Sacrifice the full season to guarantee Bettman's removal?

I'd be ok with losing the season. Prospects get another year of development and we get to pass up a season of probable awfulness. -
49.5 hours until the World Series starts! I love the Wings but if I could only see one of my teams win a championship for the rest of my life, it would be the Tigers.

It wasn't necessary but it was emotion and adrenaline from the huge out. Reddick is also making a much bigger deal about it than he should be. Reddick threw his bat because he struck out so much and even gave a little skip and a hop before catching a pop fly at the end of a game against the Tigers a few weeks back. I hope we sweep this punk.

This offseason was one that every Red Wings fan was excited for and it was pretty quiet for us. While the Wild signed guys we were hoping for, we got guys like Samuelsson and Tootoo. We've lost three of our best defenseman over the past two years (Rafalski, Stuart and Lidstrom) and our stars are aging and wearing down. Could it be time to do what this franchise hasn't thought about for 20 years or is it simply that we need to just fill some holes? Some think that even with support for our top guys that the Wings just won't be able to keep up with faster, younger and stronger teams. Some think that a few more pieces is all they need. What do you think? Trade some of our top talent (not necessarily Dats or Z, in fact, don't even consider it because it won't happen) for up and coming prospects or trade some of our top prospects for proven talent? Personally, I wouldn't mind giving up some of our top guys for some very talented prospects, even if it means the playoff streak ends. I'd rather end the streak now and start a new one in a few years than extend this one another 2-3 until we are in a deep hole for years.

Verlander's MLB debut was in 2005 and he didn't impress in any of his 3 starts.

Call me crazy but I really liked the 2011 series against the Sharks. Lots of Blues fans were telling me after Game 3 that it was over, we would be swept and that time was up on the Wings. We may have lost but man was the comeback fun.
