So I;m watching the Rangers and Canucks tonight and during the second intermission they bring up Larkin being asked about his thoughts on it and the competition that surrounds it. He says "Please don't vote" with a smile. Then he basically says he'd rather have the days off and that there are other guys that are more deserving than he is. I don't see a problem with that. He makes a good point. But then 'ol Brian Burke call Dylan "stupid" and says that he should have consideration for the NHL and it's corporate partners. He goes on to equate this fan vote thing with the "honor" of being selected as an all star. "If you get voted in, get on a plane and keep your mouth shut". Is Burke trying to fill the void left by Don Cherry's absence? I mean, you can't blame Larkin. Playing every night on this team has to be a load, Who wouldn't want to squeeze out a few extra days off?

My main point was that Brian Burke can go suck an egg.

Who would fold first? Call me an outlier but if The Wings can't win it, I don't want anyone to win it. Any other team winning will leave a foul taste in my mouth. Especially the Pens, lol.

Seems like every time this team needs a big goal, Pavs is the guy to step up.

Modano? LeClair? Leetch? Chelios? Roenick? Mark Howe? Other? I'm leaning towards Chelios myself. Leader, hard-nosed gamer, great guy in the room and a seemingly inexhaustible will to win.

I know the Canadian teams don't get as much play here in the US but what about Edmonton/Calgary or Toronto/Ottawa?

I agree with the basic premise of your post. The "New NHL" is driven by ratings and this style of goonery, diving etc is at the root of it all. This Bruins Habs series is going to be cheap shots, diving and flopping followed by coaches and players whining about said dives etc, but folks are going to tune in because of it.

I guess Betteman can't resist a Bruins/Habs series in the next round. Doing everything they can to make it happen. I lol'd when I saw an article from Boston today already whining about how much the Habs flop and dive. Then we get this s***show today. What a joke.

Doesn't matter who is in net. These guys never really had a chance against the Bruins.

Maybe the Sharks can loan the WIngs a few goals.

If giving up a goal in the first period is enough to doom this team they have serious, serious problems.

Top 10 money or not, Howard, and most goalies in the NHL, are not going to shutout the Bruins or hold them to one goal. This team has to score. That's all there is to it.

I've seen nothing in these last two games that would indicate this team has a chance of winning another one, home or away. You cannot expect Howard to only give up one goal and when you can't score, you can't win. Plain and simple.

f***. No way this team comes back in this series. Just a matter of time now. Guess I'll just try to enjoy our final two games of the season.

Truth. I would LOVE to have a guy like Simmonds on this team.
