Its the same team that keeps getting beat in the playoffs by the sharks. Except this year it wont be the sharks, its the front office that has defeated the Wings, prior to season open. Get some new material guys. This is boring. Franzen, streaky every year. Hudler, great heart and work ethic but just doesn't cut it.. Stuart, solid at times, but absent minded at times, every year. Fourth line, ineffective continuously. I don't know how I feel about Kronwall leading the defense after Lidstrom retires..

For the love of whoever is up there.... Please get Datsyuk a true goal scorer to play with. Thats all I care about.

Minus Datsyuk. I'll take Crosby over any other player in the NHL anyday. He's already got more assists than all but 3 guys on the Wings. He's only played 12 games. 4 points tonight. Alot more fun to watch than Franzen show up for maybe 20 minutes of actual game play a season and to see Zetterberg struggle to keep up, Hudler getting pushed around, and Emmerton doing whatever he does... Wings need a whole sale change. This is boring.

Teams keep getting tougher, Wings keep getting weaker. Although Radulov hasn't had much success in his 2 NHL seasons. He thinks he's greater than his game.

Semin has 18 goals this season. I'd rather keep Hudler...and I've never said that before. I'd rather trade Zetterberg, Franzen, and anything else possible to get Ovechkin. Maybe he can become what he was in a different environment.

He's not back yet. If Dats gets 2 points in his return then they might have a headline...Its not like Dats missed 90 games because of a broken dome like kid the sid did. All you haters made Crosbby famous...but in all reality, Crosby is the best player in the league, hands down..and he's still only like 15 years old. I'm glad Datsyuk is back, but can one player solve a whole teams scoring issues? I guess we'll find out.. Maybe Franzen sits with his back spasms and Nyquist gets the nod, Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Nyquist Fil-Z-Hudler Abby-Helm-Miller Holmstrom and whoever those 4th line guys are. Pretty solid looking lineup on paper.

Im glad we have a coach that doesn't lose his cool all the time. He could be saying in post game "we suck, this guy sucks, the fans on LGW are right we need a shakeup." Then he would be losing the respect of his players and eventually be out of a job. A call out isn't what this team needs....what they do need is everyone healthy and in playing shape, and a few goals to add as well. Chill out mofo's, it's an 82 game season, and we have a banged up team. What, you think they're gonna win every single game? Fans should support the team, encourage them, be optimistic.. Everytime the Wings lose, its off with someones head... Obviously they care more about a healthy team, young guys opportunity, and long playoff run rather than busting ass to get the P trophy and being wore and tore by the time the postseason begins. On a side note... has Hudler scored a goal in a game where the Wings didn't lose?

It seems as though the opposite scenario is what occurred. From press clipping and twitters (sp?) most teams wanted Detroits prospects. Holland said he was only willing to give up draft picks, that the prospects were virtually untouchable.

I think you mis-understood my posting of Franzen's stats. I think they are horrible for the type of role he is supposed to be playing. Cleary's to add, for that matter. The only free pass Franzen should be getting is the ride to the airport to another team..

Rag on big E all you want... but he's got a career high plus minus 17 this season. And please don't credit Kindle or Commodore for it either.

In 458 Red Wings games, the Franz has 144 goals and 122 assists 266 points. 'nuff said.

Has anyone else noticed the extreme decline of Henrik Zetterberg since the cup run in 08'? Mentally I'm sure he's giving 110 percent, but it seems as though his body can only give about 60-70 percent. Holland was right by standing pat today. He was also right by ditching Commie and allowing Smith to get a taste. Its the next few years we should be looking into. Franzen is not cutting it. Fact. Our centers are in place, Datsyuk, Fillpula, Helm, Emmerton. Our defense, Kronwall, Quincey, Kindle, Smith with Stuart and Lidstrom a question mark for next year. Our wingers are the Wings biggest ailment. Bertuzzi, Abdelkader, Miller, Zetterberg are safe. That leaves Hudler, Franzen, Cleary, Eaves, Mursak and Holmstrom (whos most likely playing his last season) Its great to have depth...but depth means nothing when no one is producing...it means you have a surplus of underachievers. Out of those names, Hudler deserves credit on turning his game back around this season. I'm anxious to see how the lineup changes over the coarse of the next few seasons. IMO we need 2 top six wingers and a defenseman or two depending on Lidstrom and Stuart.

Facts from this season so far : Detroit still has holes to fill. Cleary, Franzen, And Hudler. Franzen is just too inconsistent. Cleary started out okay, and now he's back from injury so time will tell how many games it takes for him to find his stride again. Hudler is having a better season than last..but still not on pace to reach career high in points. Also seems like he scores more in games that Detroit loses. Our top scorers may not reach 20 goals this season (Datsyuk and Zetterberg) These are all facts. Topics of conversation.. If I was Holland.. I'd prepare to shake things up this offseason. But i'm not Holland, so I guess we'll see what goes down. Who knows, maybe they win a cup?

so, San Jose, Vancouver, Chicago and Nashville upgrade.. Lets hope Detroit can stay healthy for the duration of the season and playoffs. 8 defensemen suddenly turned into 6 (Commodore/Erricsson) ..and now reading Quincey and Lidstrom didnt practice.
