Anaheim's tough but the Wings are just too deep. The Wings also know how to win, unlike San Jose. They will make Anaheim pay for taking penalties. Wings in 6.

Oops.

Yep. I have. Scroll down to the bottom of this article. The kid they mention, Derek Arnold, is one of my best friends. See the part where the writer says he stuffed the octopus down his pants and snuck it into the arena? Total bulls***! That was me. We met with Mr. Price when we were buying the octopus. He told us to meet him at the game. He interviewed us at the store and at the game. He brought an octopus with him because he wanted us to throw it on the ice. He, however, tucked his into a messenger bag. It was me who snuck one in in my pants.

Pretty sure that's a Griffins jersey, where Kronwall wore number 5.
-
I don't know why people were picking St. Louis to win that series. They're a young team. I mean in what area of the game are they better than Vancouver?
-
There's not a forward in the league I'd take over Pavel right now.
-
No one remembers this? Those robes were huge in Carolina that year.
-
Sutter seems to like Eriksson for some reason.

Datsyuk. Zetterberg. Hossa. Franzen. Lidstrom. Rafalski. All proven playoff players... four out of the six would be the best players on Columbus' roster and the other two would easily be top five. Then there's Hudler, Filppula, Holmstrom, Cleary, Samulesson, Kronwall, and Stuart to deal with... fresh off, you know, winning the Stanley Cup. But I'm sure the Wings are really scared of those rookie AHL studs that don't have a second of playoff experience in the NHL.

Aren't these the keys to any series?
-
Alright, to better phrase it: The only way the Wings lose this series is if Osgood and the defense play like they're uninterested (like they did for most of the season.)
-
Kiprusoff was also incredible the year before that and the Wings didn't have much of a problem putting Calgary away. I've said it before... the only way the Wings lose this series is if Osgood gives it away. It's possible but not probable.

TSN is essentially Canada's ESPN... so ESPN with a lot more hockey.
-
Eva, Hudler has been given the opportunity to play with "real linemates" multiple times and each time it hasn't worked. I don't care what all your numbers tell you; he's never going to be an elite forward.

I like it. Easy series travel-wise. Columbus has no playoff experience and their powerplay is god-awful. They do, however, have Mason and a strong defense. If Mason gets hot, all bets are off. That said, I like the Wings in five. Loving the SJ-ANA match-up. Let those teams beat the s*** out of each other and someone else will clean up the leftovers. They were playing without Lidstrom and Hossa today -- two guys who would be the best players on Columbus. It was also a meaningless game for the Wings.

His cap number is only $3.9 million. There's the discount.

According to this poster at HFBoards:

Big deal. Let's win 2-3-4 more Cups with the best core in the NHL, then we'll worry about it "biting us in the ass" in 10 years.
-
I'm a big fan of the black practice jerseys, but there are more than enough black in-game jerseys.
-
You're forgetting about Zetterberg's raise. I agree with you though, keeping Hossa is definitely do-able without gutting the team totally. Everyone's forgetting that this upcoming season is the only one where the cap situation is really a clusterf***. After '09-10 the Wings are in the clear as far as the cap goes.
-
No chance? Is that why Holland just said on TV that the two sides have been in talks since January, they'd both like to stay together, and if they agree on a cap number that works for both sides he's going to stay?
-
Anaheim playing San Jose would make things easier in the long run for the Wings, but if the Wings play to their potential no one's stopping them.
-
And I'm fine with that. They're practice jerseys.
-
:puke: No more black jerseys.
