The problem with having Stuart there is he's a left-handed shot. Samuelsson isn't. Beleive me, I'd love for Stuart and Kronwall to run the second unit but having a right-handed shot on the point gives the Wings more options.
-
Pretty sure Hossa will be on the second unit unless they really need to score. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Lidstrom-Rafalski Hudler-Franzen-Hossa Kronwall-Samuelsson
-
Hossa's up there defensively. Not quite as good as Hank and Pavel, IMO, but playing for the Wings could change that.
-
According to Snapshots, Holland will be on WWJ 950 soon.
-
I think the Wings had the offseason won before they signed Hossa -- which is scary.
-
Still in disbelief.
-
Everyone: The Red Wings just added Marian ******* Hossa. I am shaking in excitement right now.
-
Pittsburgh Gazette HOLY s***!!!!
-
:puke: Williams is garbage. He was afraid to go to tough areas, especially after the hard hit he took from Torres. He was the kind of player that was responsible for the early exits.
-
I'm thinking Sundin will be this year's Forsberg.
-
Of course you can make a case for Chicago; they're $5 million over the cap.
-
Massive overpayment for Campbell but it's nice to see Chicago getting better.
-
RDS reported earlier that Tucker signed with Detroit. A few minutes later the article changed to Colorado, so I assume the Wings were in the bidding.
-
Bertuzzi hasn't been a big power forward since '03. He was garbage for Anaheim last year. If he were still the big power forward you claim he is, then why did Anaheim buy him out?
-
Calm down. All this means is Howard will have to earn the back up job.
-
Good deal. He was great for the Penguins this year and can step in if needed. He'll create some competition for Howard.
-
There are still a ton of forwards out there: Hossa, Huselius, Jagr, Demitra, Naslund, Satan, Avery, Tucker, Ryder, Bertuzzi, Nagy, Stillman, Fedorov etc. Some are obviously more appealing than others, but we could still see a new forward.
-
Please no to Bertuzzi.
-
$10 million for a 37 year old? There are some desperate teams out there.
-
What do the Wings need? Whoever gets moved is going to go for a pick, IMO -- and I don't think the difference between Meech and Lebda is that great.
-
Hopefully not, but I trust Holland's judgement.
-
...and in other news, Tampa overpays for a forward.
-
Lebda, I think. Meech and Quincey have higher ceilings and Lebda had a respectable showing in the Finals.
-
...and he can skate. And move the puck.
