There was a rumor earlier that Buffalo offered Campbell for Kronwall straight up. Holland countered with Kronwall for Campbell and Stafford. Other than that, not much on the Wings front. It's been reported that we're still the front runners for Hossa, along with Ottawa and Montreal.

No no, he said nothing of that sort. He said, "Getting Hossa could have been done in the cap world," implying that the Red Wings will not get Hossa because of Holland's reluctance to trade inexpensive assets, namely Filppula, under the cap. Why was the past tense at all necessary? Hossa hasn't gone anywhere yet.

Before the cap, Holland's MO was exactly what you just mentioned: trading away uncertain future for superstars. It can't be done in a cap world. No one has even made a big trade yet and we already have people bitching at Holland. Amazing.

According to a poster (jpfalcon09) at RWC, Campbell wants out of Buffalo. The poster said that WGR in Buffalo mentioned the Wings offered Kronwall for Campbell and Stafford. I can't see the Wings doing that, as there's virtually no chance Campbell would re-sign here. Stafford is something that the Wings lack within their system, though.
