60 percent of the time, it works every time.

I'd love to see him back. He's clutch and would give the Wings some secondary scoring. If Holland can't work out a deal with Smyth, which he probably won't be able to, Kozlov is a great option. He's more affordable and will give the Wings some flexibility at the deadline too. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Kozlov-Filppula-Bertuzzi

There's not many players out there that can play and fight. Look at Parros' role on the Ducks; he's not doing much in the playoffs from the press box. Guys that can skate and hold their own in fights are few and far between. A Chris Neil type would be ideal, which is why Ottawa won't be letting him go any time soon. The only realistic option out there I see is Asham.

Who is your favorite all time player, AND your favorite active player?
Rice replied to a topic in General
All time is Lidstrom. My favorite current players are Lidstrom and Zetterberg. My favorite player on another team is Lecavalier. -
You use "could be" a lot. Kozlov "is" a top six forward.

Hudler didn't do anything wrong this season except have youth and inexperience on his side. He scored 15 goals in very, very limited ice time and was good in the playoffs. Roberts had 20 goals while playing good minutes.
-
What? The Wings have three legitimate top-six talents right now. Holmstrom, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk. Even Holmstrom's a stretch, as he's not too great five on five. They need more scorers. Kozlov would give the Wings more scoring depth and he was always a stud in the Playoffs.

Here's the latest from Khan. He says he thinks Hasek will come back and the Wings are definitely interested in bringing Bertuzzi back. He said they want Schneider back but it could mean the end of Markov, which, IMO, would suck. He also says Calder and Lang "have no chance of returning." If the Wings have to sacrifice a defensive defenseman to sign Schneider, it's not worth it in my opinion.
-
I didn't know that. He must be better defensively than I thought.
-
I wonder if Legace's available... Toskala is probably the most intriguing option.
-
I've heard that about Markov before. The guy's a badass.
-
Sorry dude, but he's been playing that style his whole career and he's arguably the best goalie of all-time. His style has nothing to do with luck.

It was an example to show how stupid your argument is. Look at this quote from Babcock: "When (Niklas) Kronwall got hurt in Dallas (on March 30), I almost threw up on the bench," Babcock said late Tuesday night. "I thought, 'You lose a marquee defenseman like that at playoff time, and how do you overcome that?' And when we lost (Mathieu) Schneider in Game 5 of the San Jose series, you're saying to yourself, 'How the heck is this going to work?'" But you probably know more than he does. Injuries don't count because every team has them! Listen, I'm not saying that's the sole reason they lost, but you can't deny that losing the two of them is a HUGE loss.
-
Who said anything about that? The Wings faced some significant, significant injuries. If they lost Lidstrom and Zetterberg, would you be saying the same thing? Schneider and Kronwall log a s***-load of minutes. That's a huge loss for any team. You cant discount the injuries just because every team gets them.
-
Hardly. Our offense dried up when we needed it most, the powerplay in particular. The Wings bury a couple of those 5-on-3 opportunities and countless other powerplay opportunities and this series is over in five or six in the Wings favor. That one goal performance in Game 5 was a great offensive effort. Maybe by our D getting manhandled you mean Niedermayer's shot deflecting off of Lidstrom's stick to tie it in Game 5?
-
How about looking at the huge saves he made in addition? News-flash, big guy: goalies don't always look like world-beaters when they're getting scored on. Selanne scored 48 goals this season. I'm sure the goalie looked great on every one of them.
-
What are you talking about? No, it's actually not, not at all. You can't really expect to blow through the post-season when you lose two guys who each log 20-28 minutes a night. The Wings had a really short bench and they got tired. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see some big guys on the blue line but it's not the end of the world that our defense wasn't invincible without two of the top three.
-
...and here comes the s*** storm.
-
That couldn't have anything to do with the Wings missing two of their top three guys and playing an injured Lebda, could it? If everyone here has blind faith, you have blind negativity.
-
What? I like Hasek. I like Hasek a lot. What I said in my post is fact: Care to point out what isn't? Can you say for a fact that he's going to be healthy for another full season? Can you say that he's going to play for a bargain price again? I never said that he's definitely going to consider other offers and want a big salary if he returns. I said it's a possibility. Do you disagree?
-
What are you talking about? You take everything about Hasek so personally. Hasek was great this season and he does wonders for the team with his confidence. That doesn't change what I said in my last post, though. Unless you know for a fact that he's willing to come back for a similar price, my post is very valid. Ask anyone who doesn't have the Hasek-goggles on.

I like Bertuzzi a lot and it's awesome to think about what he's capable of when he's healthy and at the top of his game. However, he obviously has some issues with his back. When Shanahan began having back problems he was never the same again. We're all hoping for Bertuzzi to be an abrasive forward, but who knows if he'll ever be able to play that way again.
-
I'd take him back, but everyone's assuming he's going to play for peanuts again next season. You have to remember that he was getting no interest from anyone thanks to the s*** he pulled in Ottawa and previously in Detroit. This year, he's fresh of a healthy season and a trip to the Conference Finals. He's going to get much more interest on the open market. That makes everything tricky. He's a much, much bigger gamble if he's looking to sign for market-price. Let's not forget about his wonky groin. It's great that he had no problems this season but it's still risky.
