Seriously, stop posting. Who's Jager anyway?
-
Actually, with his prorated salary we could. However, I can't imagine how much it would cost to land him. Looking at what it took to get Tkachuk and an injured Forsberg, a healthy Jagr would take boatloads of youth and picks.

I dont understand what the big deal is. The team trading for a Bertuzzi or a Weight very well knows that they can go right back to their old team at the end of the season. It's a risk/reward scenario. Carolina got a Cup out of Weight, I don't think they're that angry that he didn't re-sign.

Ansar Khan: Well, that sucks. Granted Cleary wasn't putting up points recently but that's another blow to our God-awful second line. Hopefully Samuelsson can come back quick (it says in the article 10-14 days).

When Crosby becomes a RFA, teams are allowed to give him offer sheets and the Pens have to match if Crosby signs the offer sheet. However, say the offer sheet is for the max (which it would be), the team that signs Crosby would have to sacrifice a certain amount of picks in compensation.

I've been thinking about that myself, nn. I just don't think Illitch would go for it. It's not the Wings' style to sell, hell, is it any top team's style to sell before the playoffs? I personally think it would be smart, but it wouldn't be good from a PR perspective. A lot of fans would be pissed off.

A little late. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40371

Blake wouldn't address the team toughness issue, but what one player would? He'd do a lot for our scoring and speed woes. I'll take that.
-
Blake said that if he's not signed by the deadline he wants to be traded.
-
We're not going to get Guerin. No thanks to Stumpel, maybe Bertuzzi depending on the price. I'd like Gelinas from Florida.
-
Right, but why does that matter? He'd still be taking the same amount of cap space.
-
Fighting doesn't matter in the playoffs. Getting one guy who can fight won't make our whole lineup gritty.
-
Why? The bonus money still counts against the cap.
-
No thanks. We need defensive defensemen, not forwards who play point.
-
Yup, the guy is a prick...but I'd love Holland to trade for him.
-
I really don't know. We've all seen him when he's at his best. He's a really talented guy and is a great player when he wants to be. He also brings some size to our forward corps. However, he has been downright awful for a while now. Taking a look at his stats, he has 6 points and is minus-9 since January 2nd (24 games). Awful.

I'd love to get Norstrom here. We need a big defensive defenseman like him, plus he's a Swede. Him and Nick have been paired together in international play as well, if I remember correctly. I was actually thinking recently that if Holland can't get an impact forward he may try to upgrade the defense. Trade Schneider for a high pick and (the infamous) picks/prospect for Norstrom. Lidstrom-Norstrom Kronwall-Markov Lebda-Chelios IMO, that's a much more well-rounded defense than what we have now. Norstrom's a great stay at home guy who can clear the crease and we'd be getting rid of Schneider's defensive lapses.
-
I've always been pro-Lang but he's been absolutely awful lately. Holland should trade him for whatever he can get.
-
Any one of Fedorov, Yzerman, Lidstrom, or Hasek would've been the right choice.
-
Sturm's on pace for 43 points this season and he gets a deal like that? What was the point of the lockout again?
-
I'm just gonna throw this out there.
-
Thanks Babcock!

Plenty of teams have enough cap space. Off the top of my head I know that Atlanta and Anaheim do.
