It's around $7 million prorated, but saying they're $7 million under the cap isn't true.
-
I agree with what you said but the Wings have $2 million in cap space.
-
Eva, you do a great job of overrating our players.

Anyone Else Feel That Nashville Will Become A True Rival?
Rice replied to TheChosenOne's topic in General
Do you see that or do you hope for that? Because the Preds have a great core of young forwards and defensemen. The only thing I see that can slow them down is Kariya and Hartnell are both free agents after this season. -

No, we need some guys who can fight for it to become a true rivalry. -
I hope that was a typo. :puke:
-
Well, now we now that Aftonbladet isnt very reliable.
-
Great. I wonder how much it's for.
-
That's because he cant just throw away first round picks anymore. Teams have to depend more on their drafting under the salary cap because you cant fill holes with money like we did in the past.

Didn't Holland say he tried to add Drake at the deadline last year but couldn't clear enough space? Or was that Tyson Nash I'm thinking of? Either way, if Holland was interested in Drake last year I'm sure he has his eyes on him again.
-
Still have 11 days until the deadline, although I doubt we get anyone major. We just don't have the assets to compete with some of the other teams. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but Williams isn't going to get us much.

We don't have a name for the hottest line in hockey, other than the "Holy s#@*!" line, I guess. Anyway, let's come up with a name. I can't think of one right now but I'll sleep on it.
-
No way that ever happens. Ever. Jokinen signed a long term deal last season. We couldn't get only Jokinen for that package, let alone Bertuzzi.
-
Looks like Holmgren's asking price was Kronwall: Link.
-
If we want to get a real rivalry going with Nashville we're going to need some fighters or some bangers at least.
-
I have to admit, that was really funny.
-
So who centers the second line?
-
He's been at PPG or above in every playoff he's been in.

To add to what I just said, I really don't think Nashville gave up too much. It's a good deal for both teams. The first round pick will end up being bottom five of the top 30 so it's essentially a second rounder. Parent or Franson (yet to be confirmed) are good prospects. Upshall won't crack the roster in Nashville. The third is, well, a third. This is similar to Holland dealing Kindl, Hudler, a first, and a third. In fact, I think our package is probably better than Nashville's. Granted it is a big risk but Forsberg is Forsberg. He would do wonders for the team's secondary scoring which we so desperately need. I know I'm speaking hypothetically. Maybe Holland did offer a package similar to Nashville's and Philadelphia wasn't interested. I dont know. I just got my hopes up.
-
The thing that frustrates me is if we were to acquire Forsberg it would open a lot of doors. Forsberg is an instant upgrade over Lang. Deal Lang for whatever you can get and you still have cap room for a scoring winger.
-
Watch Forsberg go down right before the playoffs and not re-sign with Nashville.
-
Looks like it's all but finalized. Predators send Upshall, Parent, a first round pick, and a third rounder.
-
If Forsberg does go to Nashville (which im 99% sure he will), I'm surprised Holland didn't up the bidding to keep him out of Nashville. I really think he would've been a great pick up to give us some secondary scoring. Oh well, lets see what the Preds gave up before making any judgments. Hopefully they sold the farm.

Here's the link from what J-Swift was saying. The Preds are looking really tough.
