Thus far, Miller for sure. I can't imagine how Leino would look in a playoff atmosphere.
-
Penguins also play the most games against teams that are on the second half of back to backs.

I really hate getting in on these goalie debates but Eva, since you're such a stats junkie, how do you explain this: 2008-09 DET 3.09 .887 2009-10 DET 2.83 .896 Straight up, Osgood has been mediocre to downright horrible for the past two regular seasons. Don't bring up the playoffs because this team won't make the playoffs if he can't win them some games. I'm not saying win them every game, but the team in front of him isn't going to be flawless night in and night out like it seems you expect them to be.

if the wings made a deal who would you want gone and who would you wan

Lang was leading the league in scoring at the time the Wings traded for him. He was great in the playoffs that year and scored some big goals in the '07 playoffs. Plus, who knows if the Wings would've selected Mike Green with that pick? Do you really think he'd put up the numbers he does in Washington here in Detroit (where, you know, he'd have to play defense)? -
It would kind of suck seeing the Wings move to the Palace, albeit temporarily -- but I think it'd be worth it for a few seasons. They need a new arena.

The Wings are a Cup contender with a healthy lineup. No way the Ducks trade Selanne here anyway.

This just in: We've landed on the moon.

I know that SportsK used to have them but it looks like they've taken them off their site. I'd try emailing them.
-
Hmm... yeah that was probably the worst one. Not horrible but not good either.
-
I'll look it up later, but I'm sure the amount of penalties called (hence the amount of powerplays) has gone down since the first season after the lockout too. Maybe I'm wrong.

If the Wings go into the playoffs healthy they can beat anyone.
-
ESPN's Attendance Records Coyotes' average this year is a pathetic 10,408.
-
Agreed. No need for two games. One a year makes it special. Also agree that Detroit-Chicago at Wrigley won't be matched.
-
I'm sure all the playoff games they've played over the past three years have caught up with them. They played 18 (6-6-6) in '07, 22 (6-4-6-6) in '08, 23 (4-7-5-7) in '09 for a total of 63 playoff games.

No. Trading a guy who is capable of 100+ points while playing a stellar 2-way game all for $6.7 million because of a slow first quarter is a ridiculous idea.

I loved Markov. I think he had some off-ice issues though, which is why he bounced around the league so much. It wasn't just money. I've heard the rumors about smoking during games. Also heard he had cocaine problems and was in debt to people you don't want to be in debt with in Toronto. Who knows if that's true though.

The Wings won't miss the playoffs.

People only bash Howard when the Wings lose.
-
No, I think they'll make the playoffs. I just don't think they have "just as good a chance to win this year as they did last year."
-
I think the Wings will be fine this year but that's simply not true.

I agree that Canada should have more teams, but there should absolutely not be any more expansion in the NHL. The talent doesn't need to be watered down any more than it already is. I just don't understand why the league is so reluctant to move a team like Phoenix, that's clearly failing, to Canada.

If the Wings are healthy going into the playoffs, no one's going to want to see them in the first round. That's for sure.

If we're just looking at cap number: - Datsyuk at $6.7 million, Franzen at $3.9, and Zetterberg at $6.08 - Hossa at $5.2. - Getzlaf and Perry at $5.3. - Roy at $4.0. - Morrow at $4.1. - Havlat at $5.0. - Richards at $5.75.
