Ahh 15...such a good age to cling onto a hockey team that JUST won the STANLEY CUP and claim you've been a lifelong fan. I'm sure that's not the case though! Let's keep going with stats, I'm finding it quite the nostalgic experience. The Predators have a 14 year Stanley Cup drought, yes that much is true. The Red Wings had a 41 year drought....ouch. See here is the big difference between our fans. I have NEVER said the Red Wings were trash or not talented. I have NEVER dismissed the fact they have a history of excellence eras. 11 Cups is a nice stat for a team, and apparently for a fan to toss around like a used hooker. Nashville has no Western Conference Titles, Division Titles or Stanley Cups but I hardly hold those stats against them when referencing their current and past talents. Let's be real here the Red Wings have been around what... 86 years vs the Predators 14. It's not exactly fair to compare in that essence. Stop playing hockey for 72 more years then let's compare our team's accolades. Until then stop riding the high horse of a franchise that did most of that before 95% of you were even thought about. That's what truly makes you look dumb IMHO.

ANYBODY on the Red Wings could score on the Preds and it wouldn't hold a candle to KEVIN KLEIN putting a move on your defenders and going shelf on Jimmy Howard. I think all of us hicks down here in Nashville spit our dip all over the screen when that happened. I know we had a good laugh about it. Yeah but guess what...they don't! They are a little more classy and tend not to use winning something in the past as a CURRENT reference to their team. The bad thing is the majority of Red Wings fans who throw that stat out there have not been alive for more than the most recent 4, yet live off the others like they were in some guys testicles wearing a Gordie Howe jersey. I just find it silly to resort (when losing a battle of wits) to bringing up things that happened 20+ years prior to my birth.

It's equally cute seeing Red Wings fans getting all bent out of shape because the Preds finally finish above them & pretending it doesn't. Of course I am happy because we finished above the Red Wings, not only for bragging rights but home ice advantage. It has become apparent in the world of hockey "fandom" that Red Wings fans can't accept anything negative about their team. I was told yesterday in this forum's very chat room that Nashville won game 3 because of the refs and because we were "goons." Really? What's next!? I dare to fathom...

You guys need to learn the meaning to words before you erroneously throw them around. The thing has me in stitches over the whole ordeal is before end of the 3rd period, a majority of you would have loved to see Weber in red, now it's a mudslide of hatred and personal attacks. Like the Wings have never had a player let emotion win and slip up at some point. Jesus I could see if Z would have gotten hurt but all is well, clean the panties out fellas

I disagree. If Weber truly feels he did no wrong last night he's just going to let the whole situation roll off his back and focus on playing his game and getting the 2-0 series lead. The Red Wings however could come into game 2 a little hot headed/payback minded and make some dumb plays and get some bad penalties. I would venture to say the whole ordeal affects Detroit more than Nashville but only time will tell.

I'm still trying to figure out where this logic comes from with your Red Wings fans. If you lost to the Predators who couldn't convert on their PP (one of their bread and butter weapons) and could only score on the Preds on your PP, then how do you see this as a positive? If game 2 isn't a penalty call fest then how does Detroit score? You were only able to convert 2 of 10 chances in game 1. What if the Preds PP starts clicking like usual and puts a few in the net along with "flukey" goals? You couldn't beat the Preds when they played some of their WORST hockey and you all see that as a good sign? LOL I guess.... oh and.....

Please, I was at this game & Weber put no mustard on that "head smash" as everyone in red keeps referring to it as. I'm sure Weber didn't appreciate being run at high against the boards with merely a few seconds left when he has already been out this season from a concussion. I guess you have an excuse for Bertuzzi coming over to Gaustad and delivering a vicious shot to his face as well? I guess punching someone in the face 30 seconds after the final horn is perfectly acceptable?

Let's be honest here. Did Weber get a little unnecessary by trying to take Z's head into the glass (I say trying because it wasn't as bad as it looked/could've really been)? Yes. But Z did make an unnecessary run at Weber in the corner, coming a little high the elbow towards the head with the game all but over. That's is undoubtedly what sparked the fracas. I don't think there will be a suspension here, but in all fairness if there is then Bertuzzi better be riding the pine along with Weber because his hay maker to a defenseless Gaustad was really no better than Weber's actions. It was a chippy game between two heated rivals & ITS THE PLAYOFFS! I get tired of seeing people crying bloody mary over this, throwing the word "safety" & "prevention" out there concerning concussions but being the same people who cheer when the NHL allows the gloves to be dropped and two players go bare knuckle at each other til one is damn near knocked out.
