Nashville has yet to lose 2 games in a row this season

Just watched the highlights what a crazy game. You have a great talent in Josi and Jones

    Time for Teemu?

There worst thing is they keep playing the same way they've done since an imperative start... At least some players would gain experience or get show cased for a trade.

    CapGeek shuts down

Sad news indeed one of the best hockey websites ever. Prayers and rights to Matt hopefully things work out for him.

Winter Classic lowest rating ever (2,3)

Agreed they could do the state of hockey versus Stamkos and company. If not there are still great original 6 battles to be had.

Pens aquire David Perron from Oilers

I think it's not so much Perron himself but more that other Gms are still finding trading partners and ways to get better without getting robed. At some point the Wings will need to get creative and try to bring in defensive help. Whichever player they are going draft - unless it's Hanifin - those defender won't see the nhl for another 3 years so yeah. Also Perron could play the agitator role because of Gazdic. Macintyre but I agree he also brings goalscoring to the table and comes at a nice cap hit. Obviously he is going to be great for them because he gets to play with either Malkin or Crosby This does help the oilers in terms of tanking but at some point Hall, Eberle and Hopkins will get sick of this and ask for a trade

Pens aquire David Perron from Oilers

Whomever is hurt before the tdl will be our deadline acquisition, or he'd trade away a young center for a 3/4 rd line center and of courses kicks the tires...

    Detroit's Stifling Defence (TSN.ca)

I respect Mirtle, Yost and all their other mathfreaks but as soon as I see their name ---> skip article. If I wanted to read math stuff I'd look somewhere else and not at a sports site...with a horrible design

    1/3 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Canucks 4

going to dvr the game, both teams are struggling with consistency so should be a good one.

Pens aquire David Perron from Oilers

The Pens are winning this trade easily, it will be a very late first rounder and Crosby finally has his winger. Is Perron a first line winger? Hardly but he is still better than a lot of the wingers Crosby and Malkin had to play with so it makes some sense The oilers are now setting themselves up for McEichel

And yet Eichel will still be by far the best player out of this group. De Angelo is a beauty Russia celebrating like they've won gold ? Not so fast baby here comes De Angelo great pick by The Captain

    WJC 2015 Starting today

Jup thats just not right some of the media is acting like this kid is the only player on team Canada, let him develop and stop asking him the same stupid question over and over again. I also find it funny how they are trying to turn it into Eichel versus McDavid although both players have nothing against each other. Heck I've already read some HF posters mentioning they would trade down if they got the first overall pick because of his showing at the WJC lmao. Right I don't like them either, tons of respect for Tatar but his celebrations are not something I'm a fan of. not a fan of Mrazek period (seems a bit cocky and I can't stand that), Pasha is one of the most skilled players I've ever "seen" maybe its just a matter of personal preference but the "been there done that" look just screams class: I personally think if the best player in the world (Crosby) doesn't make a big deal of it why do lesser players feel the to go over the top as seen with Yakupov this doesn't sit well with even your own teammates. Anyway, if this would have been the gold medal game I could understand it a bit better, emotions are at an alltime high, packed house and you are playing against your hated rival but this game wasn't even an QF one so yeah.

    Are the Wings a Contender?

Avalanche would never trade with the Wings and vice versa. Even if the team did Wings don't have the assets to get it done ROR will cost a lot we are talking Nyquist/Tatar + Sproul + 1 st here that's a high price to pay and personally I'd rather pay such a high price for a top defender. Or like mentioned before throw the bank at Boychuck July 1 because it wouldn't cost anything only §. The Wings are in a somewhat tough position going forward, soon they have to replace two elite two way centers and also have to find top defensive help, all that while hoping that some prospects turn out much better than expected Larkin has obviously been great at the WJC but lets not forget its the WJC hopefully his success translates well to the NHL I think he is our best bet in terms of future centers. Anyway, to get back to the question I don't think they are I've said it during the impressive winning streak and I'll say it again the Wings aren't consistent enough and as the games are starting to mean more and more other teams are going to ramp up their physicality and this team has shown time and time again that they are easy to intimidate. IMaybe if the team loads up come trade dead line = Holland pulling a rabbit out of his dusty hat...but not right now. To me the difference between not making the playoffs and getting bounced in round 1 isn't that much of a difference especially in such a deep draft. The next two drafts are absolutely vital for this team going forward, Wings need to hit a homerun in one of them. Contenders are: Tampa, Pittsburgh, Boston (IF Chiarelli has an unreal trade dead line), LA, St. Louis, Chicago, Nashville and Anaheim.

That's a good point, veterans for sure will tell them to turn it down. Also something I've noticed us that McDavid is really uncomfortable with all the hype and attention, kid isn't even 18, just got back from an injury and the cameras are in his face all the time. Let him enjoy the tournament instead.

    WJC 2015 Starting today

I think playing infront of such a huge crowd would at first make me nervous as hell (I'm an introverted guy) and if I would score I'd try to keep it lowkey (Pasha, Crosby, Backeslike) or at least trying not to taunt the other bench like Lazar and Domi did keep your stupid tongue in your mouth ... I mean yeah, they've played against a hated rival but it wasn't even the medal round can you imagine the celebrations if Canada wins gold ? Last season I was a huge fan of the Blues celebrating, they didn't even do the high-five with the bench thats classy and something I'd like to see at the WJC too. I mean we don't want hockey to turn into an over the top celebration gongshow like the NBA, NFL and soccer Right now they are kids and they hopefully learn but the NHL already has a bunch of very cocky, arrogant and entitled players no reason to add to that.

Jagr on the block? Would the Wings have interest?

Sure it may be unfair to him but the Wings really are not in a position to ta ke chances on forwards, Defense is needed

    WJC 2015 Starting today

McDavid is 1 or 2 younger than the other players and he hasn't played hockey for a few weeks because of his injury. Give the kid time he has already shown flashes of brilliance this kid is special, the Oilers have a future generational player in him soon... I think people are often forgetting on how crazy good Crosby was at that age hence to comparisons to Gretzky.. Eichel is the same thing, sometimes they just make you wow and sometimes I'm thinking how can miss that open net ? There is no doubt that both will be exceptional players and they are going to drastically shorten the rebuild of whatever team they end up playing for. As good as Domi has looked I really hate his antics and celebrations score the damn goal and act like you've done it before not like a monkey. If he keeps that stuff up in the NHL kid better learn how to develop some fighting skills like his Dad. Larkin has looked absolutely great so far and Demko has flashes of Gibson goaltending. Most surprising team so far has to be Denmark

Nashville has yet to lose 2 games in a row this season

Also glad to have her around I like the updates a lot and Rinne has gone through a lot so it's nice seeing him back to his standards which are elite. Jossi and Jones are two exciting young defenders and with Sarros waiting they are set in goal for a long time.

Happy for you to be honest I thought Laviolette would be the wrong choice. Seems to work very well so far. And man did Poile ever rob McPhee in that Forsberg trade. The Predators are having three runaways : Vezina Rinne Calder Forsberg Norris Weber

Jagr on the block? Would the Wings have interest?

Doesn't help at all Wings need defense, also Jagr has taken a step back

    Oilers schedule presser tomorrow

They've done that so they finally have someone to replace Draisaitl and now they can send him down which of course is the smart thing to do. Kid will be a good player some day he just isn't ready yet.
