John Scott Butt Ends Tim Jackman's Face
frankgrimes replied to Hack & Whack Rule!'s topic in General
Thats an absolute joke, guy didn't do anything wrong here he tried to shake off Jackman and hurt him in the process, sucks butz thats for sure not worth a 4 game suspension. -
Thought I'd share this not only because it features one of the upcoming superstars in this game but also because it's a very touching story: Story is from 0.00 - 4 minute

This is actually a good move now they can send Draisaitl down and get him away from that toxic culture

O'Reilly being shopped for a "really good" defenseman
frankgrimes replied to DickieDunn's topic in General
Leafs for whatever reason are trying to build from the forwards on, not like it should be done from the net out. They need a bonafide number 1 defenceman and other than Kessel and jvr this team doesn't have the pieces for it (assuming that Rielly is untouchable). Ror doesn't help them although he is a great player. Today Carlyle complained about the leafs not being hard enough to play against oh well the two toughest players are in the ahl so what did he expect? Players like Phaneuf, Kessel dropping the gloves or jvr turning into a Backes like machine? Wings are in the same position the team doesn't have the pieces and Wings need defense, size and grit first so yeah sadly no Ror -
NJ fires DeBoer. Scott Stevens & Adam Oates named coaches
frankgrimes replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
Well at least picking up the phone and asking for a pricetag isn't too much to ask. I mean if it isn't something crazy this could work out very well for both teams, heck I'd do a Jurco for Larsson trade because it would be potential for potential. I know some people hate that idea but come July 1 throwing the bank at Boychuck would also be a great idea but that guy is not available right now. As far as some of our cast-offs go I don't think players like Kindl have any value especially not if you are asking for Larsson... -
Thankfully I didn't have to do that since I don't eat differently on Christmas. Sure theres usually more to eat but that doesn't mean one has to eat it If I'm feeling overeat I'll just ride the bike harder/longer in only standing mode or do intense sprints on the treadmill.

The problem is this: 1. Young established right handed defenceman are either not available or would cost more 2. A top 4 defender in his prime isn't available either So while Larsson may be a question mark he also has a lot of potential. This team needs an impactful trade sooner than later that's for sure -
Jusse Sarros is very impressive guy gives Finland the edge against everyone in terms of goaltending Blid also looks very impressive

Denmark looks very shocked

As for Boulton / Janssen yeah mixed those two up, so make it Larsson and Janssen then. If it only takes something like Pulkkinen and a second rounder I would be okay with that, the Wings D does need help and Larsson still has the talent and is fairly young. I don't care if that means helping them out with their rebuild because it would also lead to a better Wings defense so a win-win for both clubs. Oates and Stevens are taking over while Lou will also join the bench. What the Devils need to do is simple, get rid of everybody 30 + and tank it for McEichel. Man the race to the bottom is becoming very interesting this year . I'm just shocked that the Devils are having nothing outside of Larsson and Gelineas. Time to kick off the rebuild would have been after their last Stanley Cup appearance. -
There is hardly anything to take out of Canada first game yeah they did beat Slovenia easily but everyone expected that, their real tests will come soon enough. So yeah even if they played too cute there is no way this is going to work against other powerhouse teams. Sadly missed US - Fin how did Eichel look ? btw. people made fun of all the empty seats in Sweden Canada isn't doing much better so far but that's to be expected when you are charging up to $ 250 for top seats in a Canada game And make people buying the whole group stage package. After all this is a juniors tournament not the NHL...

Great article after all but Harris and Blitzer are not the kind of owners the Devils fans should want in terms of controlling a rookie GM or rookie coach They don't come off as fans at all both of them are more interested in the bottom line hence why they've sold out to sport betting and annoying fans with that crap. I'm still shocked that their forward core is worth 47 million that's unbelievable -

Larson and Bouliton would be nice other than that not much interest in their players -
Fully agreed with everything and it's starting with a bomb US - Finns should be a dandy and before that watching the Transformers 3 BD so a nice evening :-)

It will help fill the void of Thornton (but not in the locker room), they also need a top 4 d so I'd consider them in the Myers trades. No matter how people are looking at it this will be the first time wehre Chiarelli is going to face some adversity and rightfully so.
-
If even that first the team needs to make the playoffs which is still a tough road because some teams behind us are going to improve come tdl..I'm looking at Boston no way Chiarelli can get away with the current assembled roster, their fans are already calling for the guys like Sestito, Kassian (which I don't understand the guy isn't tough he is a spotpicker and only acts tough against smaller players Carcillo #2). Also I wouldn't count out the Flyers no way Hextall is satisfied with the teams performance so far with the backing of Snyder I'm sure they are trying to add a pick piece to their puzzle. So yeah a top 4 defenseman should be priority number 1.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays

Those are 2 much needed points no excuses, Wings are playing the mac David favorite tonight
-
Wow he is still that young thought he would be around 28 so probably untouchable then Smith Jurco/Mrazek for Yandle might be enough to entice them to finally move him
-
Why do people still think that other teams would want our trash or take quantity for quality ? Yandle > Smith and Maloney for sure would ask for a bigger piece to be added to even listen to that deal. I like Yandle but if we are looking at the Phoenix Coyotes I'd rather try to get OEL incredible underrated player who could flourish under Babs. Things the Wings need (have needed for years now): 1. top 4 physical defenseman with some offensive touch...luckily for us one will be available come July 1 2. big bodied sniper who can create room for Z, Goose and Tatar both positions are hard to fill but GMs are paid the big bucks to make it happen. With Z and Pasha aging this team needs to react or else we might be the Oilers in a few years

gdt 12/21 GDT : Avalanche 2 at Red Wings 1 (SO)
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Saw game went to OT on my tablet and was already sure the Wings would lose. The easiest solution to not being good at SOs is simple: don't let it get to that point, period. Despite Pasha this team just doesn't have the players for it. -
Holland simply has lost it's fire and passion. Guy used to be the by far best GM in the damn league. People may or may not like it but the post Z and Pasha era will be a tough one because centers - especially such elite ones - are hard to come by. If Larkin can turn into a solid second line center I would be very happy but I for sure don't expect him to be anything close to these two. Holland has his work cut out for him and if the Wings are losing Babcock too his job won't get any easier. Also it would have been a wise move to build a more balanced team not just skill over anything and then having hardtime against hard nosed teams that play a shutdown game.

Wings great Gordie Howe resting after 'serious stroke'
frankgrimes replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
Great news heck this is so much more important than any on ice stuff. Your are tough as nails Mr. Hockey may you be here for a long time -
Well that's the typical season of playoff contenders, they'll put together win and losing streaks but lack consistency. The problem with the steak right now is these should have been easier points non of the teams are powerhouses and the Isles, Leafs are direct competitors for a playoff spot.
