I think the will let him play out the year and then fire him (like MLSE did with Burke). The problem with coaches like Carlyle is their toughlove approach nowadays athletes aren't going to put up with that type of coaching and he also doesn't seem to have many answers other than "compete" and the Leafs lack of identity guess what? Two players who not only gave this team confidence but also an identity were assigned to the Marlies instead of having them play ~ 5 - 8 minutes on the fourth line. I mean giving up 9 goals against a defense first team is a lot

Well not a huge loss but I'm shocked the Wings didn't even get a 6th or 7th round pick for him. Also surprised that Frattin cleared big kid, decent hands sounds like an ideal third/fourth liner.

What's Jack Johnson doing now, is his mother coming for tee time...already booked a flight to play golf with his dad ? I mean according to someone here... he must be stupid, stupid, dur dur (9 old language?) because JJ trusted unqualified people with his money *lol* JJ also didn't have an agent when he signed that contract extension with the Kings. The good thing for him is, more money will come and with the right people in place he will be back to be a millionaire soon.

Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

If thats all it takes to get Eberle Holland has to jump at the opportunity. -
Most hockey athletes aren't dumb they attend colleges, went to good private schools and it always amazes me how people can go broke making so much money. The best financial advice is always to play it safe there is a reason why some loans with high interest rates are risky. Also the so called financial professionals aren't always the smart choice either, I've worked in that business before and trust me it is unbelievable how unprepared some of them are (it's not even their fault because they companies - like in hockey terms are rushing them)...personally if I'm going to trust my money to someone it's always banks at first and a small amount of that will be used for average risk - average reward investments. Hopefully he gets his situation fixed soon.

All the best to him

I don't get it TSN has had such an informative and well organized site. Yeah, you want a more modern look but why not keep the great structure instead of throwing the whole concept over board and thencreate something where nobody knows, how to find stuff ?! i.e. Podcasts, Season Preview... Also please stop that stupid "load more" button and add SITE numbers seriously how difficult is that ? Even I could code that. Now the site looks "modern" but more like a mobile unorganized site...disappointed. If somebody knows where to find the podcasts etc. please link them

Nice win should provide some confidence going forward

Since I have to use a VPN now only to access their videos, the site is so done for me. Which is a shame way to ruin a great website tSN + ugly design and banning viewing outside of Canada. I'd rather have no news than ever read the sn-comedians again, at least cbssports provides good news.

Weiss has been out ~ half a season before the Wings signed him so the risk should have already been known by then. -

Good and especially elite teams are built from the net out, not from the forwards to the backend therefore defender should be the first priority. -
Pronger, Lidström should obviously be locks I don't care if Fedorov ever makes it or not.

Ladd would be nice as would Wheeler but I don't think Winnipeg will do anything before the trade deadline and then some heavy hitters will (again) go all in. The best option would be going hard and seriously after Boychuck = making the best offer of all clubs if still decides to sign elsewhere the Wings would have at least given it their best shot. -
And we've won our last Stanley Cup with that philosophy. I highly believe that sticking up for each other is a bounding experience that can do a lot for the mood of a team. Look at the Isles other teams tried to take advantage off them till the team had enough and punched the s*** out of the Penguins score and fightingwise.

If they want more money out of Quebec or Seattle they'll just use Vegas as another option which is basically the NHL trying to increase their leverage.

Untouchables: Nyquist, DeKeyser, Mantha some overpayment needed: Tatar, Larkin and maybe one of Sproul/Oulette other than that I don't think the Wings have anything that would bring us back a much needed top D man. -
Well you have to keep in mind some of these guys (thanksfully) do have NTC/NMC and I highly doubt players would be thrilled to wave them for another non market, small budget team. I'm starting to believe the NHL is gambling on Vegas just to raise the price for other potential and much more realistically markets.

Wouldn't have the player agree to that first ? I mean they legally binded to a contract. Also I think the NHLPA would have more than a bit to say about that scenario :-)

I think it was a clean and monsterous good hit too but as a player, adrenalin is running high and if the first thought is damn that guy tried to knock him out...I'd rather see revenge than doing nothing or trying to beat them at the scoreboard. If I'm Vigenault my first action would have been a thumbs up to McIlrath go berserk mode (if they had him in the lineup). But overall I agree, hockey is tough, physical and emotional (all the things soccer isn't !) so scrums after every hit are useless but I can understand when players are trying to send a message after huge hits that result in injuries.

Thanks man sorry what I meant was: This is horrible My prayers are for his family and loved ones Never ever would I write horrible thoughts ...damn of mistake of mine so sorry -
Better plan than some might think, MMA training isn't just for "fighting skills" as proven here http://www.mensfitness.com/training/build-muscle/mma-endurance-workout Mantha, Larkin could be a nice first line one day and I agree, they complement each other really well. That being said I would still be very interested in Myers.

GDT 11/16 GDT : Montreal Canadiens 4 at Red Wings 1

I've said it last season and I'll say it again..the Habs are carried by an elite goalie known as Price. I highly doubt they'll make it far come real season time. Other than Prust - their by far most likable player - they're soft, small and not a hardworking group at all. -

Horrible, thoughts and prayers to his family, loved ones -
How about waiting till Larkin makes it to the Grand Rapids and then compare him? So far he is nothing more than a highly touted prospect - the best pick # we've had since almost a decade - Mantha on the other side could be the soon answer to the Wings size, grit and scoring problems. Would love seeing him training with McKee

For whatever reason the NHL seems to think: 1. big city = massive potential for new fans well of of course bigger cities have a higher population but the keyword here is potential ...most of them are either already NHL fans OR like Florida, Phoenix, Atlanta...there aren't enough fans overall (no matter how big the city is). 2. build it and they'll come see 1. if there isn't enough interest/support for a team the league can build whatever they want and fans still won't show up. If I were Mr. I I would be furious about that plan, why should I pay wingsrelated hard earned cash for another experiment that's for sure going to fail ? There are so many more deserving cities (both in Canada and the US), that this idea almost seems like a very very early april fools joke.
