At some point Boston will have to prepare themselves for the post Chara era and I think Myers would be an ideal fit there. He is still young and if he ever develops and becomes even more rugged that guy has Chara 2 written all over him. It took Chara till his late 20 s to become the beast he is today. That's the gamble with Myers but its a gamble i'd gladly play.

Who is Buffalo's Crosby, Malkin, Ehrhoff, Letang ... ? I think for the Sabers the whole season is about one thing: Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel and Noah Hannifin if the stars align in the right order Buffalo might be able to get two of those three. If I were Murray I'd be trying hard to get Carolinas first rounder this year.

I don't like injuries to other players at all, I mean after all they are all athletes they love what they do and basically they are giving their bodies in some cases health to the team/fans in order to be the best they can be. Yes, they are getting paid millions of $ but hockey is still the most physical demanding teamsport there is (coupled with the NFL).

I'm in the same boat didn't like the signing back then and for sure don't like it right now. But I expected Weiss to at least become a somewhat constant contributor twindling between a second/third line center. Personally I like the guy but he isn't what the Wings needed, I wanted someone meaner who goes to the net hard and can create space for Pasha, Z and Goose. That being said it is what it is now and at some point this season, the direction will become clear but keep in mind even if things go south the only one controlling his own destiny will be Weiss, because he has a NMC clause. Nobody in this league would be touching that contract. Intesting question but I think the problem is two fold: 1. Wings aren't a contender and in a rebuild/retool phase with an unknown future plus Holland seems to be have the reputation of lowballer around some players - big UFAs want to win and get paid or be overpaid for joining one of the lesser teams (see Bolland and his ridiculous 5,5 per in Florida). Also a condition stint is better than watching the game from the press box, it keeps the player in shape and helps him to get his game going.

When I brought the possibility up before people where saying no way...the team loves his compete level... Whatever the case is, getting playing time is better than not playing but this contract could turn into a mess if he doesn't figure things out very soon.

I know how much that sucks but even with a bad finger you can still do the cardio, stamina stuff. Lifting and pushing weights on the other side totally sucks because the remaining fingers have to carry the added pressure and your grip is way of, even worse if someone does the punching ball exercise. I like big Ericsson and hope he can find his firm soon. Maybe ease him in more, reduce his minutes and increase them for Danny boy?

Just finished rewatching the game and some things to note: - the PP is still atrocious call up XO and see how it goes - clear the damn crease we didn't do it against the Habs and it cost us, we didn't do it against the Flyers and it (again) cost us. There is a reason why other teams are pushing, crosschecking other players out of there ..if the goalie can't see the puck he can't make the save ! Goose needs to find a way to react the tighter defense and adjusted systems when he is on the ice, everyone knew opponents would make an effort to figure out how to defend against Goose, Tatar ..now it's their turn to react. It's also very obvious that we can't count on the veterans to bail us out in every game anymore, so a more balanced pressure point on the shoulders of more players would be nice.

Wow that sucks, they've now lost their top scorer and both top two defensemen. Man Chiarelli will have his hands full this season, a guy like Seguin would come in handy now.. If Boston doesn't work some magic soon, their cup window could close sooner than I've thought. Raask and Bergeron now have to take this team on the back for quite some time.
