Babcock "I don't think it will be my final year here"
frankgrimes replied to trule23's topic in General
Well half a million is a lot of money so we will see -
Yup so what? Usual the rats are the well known rats playing for the habs tonight

Great hit I love it more of that please... Dare I say kronwalled?! Also I'm from overseas myself and stuff like soft euros doesn't offend me either. If people are offended by the term rates, French fries than well whatever.

I so can't wait till someone absolutely destroys that cocky rat with a clean but hard hit.

I so can't wait till the Flames are coming to the french fries, their usual rats will than again complain to the media lol.

Babcock "I don't think it will be my final year here"
frankgrimes replied to trule23's topic in General
See that's the difference I don't care about that stuff it's not my money but if I were that rich I would pay it. I mean how often is the best coach in a sport willing to stick with a rebuilding / retooling team? Something that hardly happens -
sn is so terrible they make me wish for eddy o and I absolutely hate that guy

Babcock "I don't think it will be my final year here"
frankgrimes replied to trule23's topic in General
It's simple for me ; This is hockey town, no cap on stuff, front office, coaches and I'd like to see the Wings setting a trend in coaches salaries plus we haven't flexed our financial muscle enough for my liking. -

Exactly if that's all it takes to extend him, up the offer and yes he deserves more than Holland. Babcock is the best coach Holland sadly lost his fire. -
God this game is boring. Some physicality would be nice

Go figure no cap on coaches and yet such a low ball offer. Just strengthens my point Babcock will be gone after this season if the Wings aren't upping their offer. -
I've advised my babe to cook some french-fries for me, hopefully they come with a cheap price-tag.

It's simple Weiss either shows up or he finds himself looking at a spot on this team soon.

slava voynov suspended after domestic violence arrest
frankgrimes replied to jimmyemeryhunter's topic in General
Varlamov, Voynov seems like a few players should attend some anger management courses. If he is guilty, you are a thug and the NHL doesn't need you, might as well join the nFL, NBA who are known as thug leagues.Hockey doesn't need players like that. if innocent then well good for you -
Found that thread on a another board and I thought it might be interesting, mine are pretty simple: - music: Slayer - Stain of Mind Slipknot - Wait and Bleed 10 mins before the game: Three Days Grace - Animal I've become - preparation: go fast and hard with my punching bag - video: rewatch Kronwalls biggest hits, favorite fights of last season and Pasha's highlights and replays of 2002 - last but not least: learning the national anthem of america :-) season openers are just so special.

Lucic has a meltdown as Bruins get smacked by Habs...again
frankgrimes replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I'm a huge fan of Lucic but you are right his antics are sometimes just... Dumb but I stand by my point the habs should really be the last team complaining about something like this. Their team is filled with rats. Seguin made one mistake he missed a team meeting because is partying with ladies the night before and that's about it. The media brought it up time and time again to make him look bad... Well we are seeing how bad he is now.. Chia needs to pray for a 180 turn around on that trade. I don't know much about their prospects but they better have some ready to take over soon. But this is also exactly what I've been talking about in terms of wings and rebuild is they are doing this right we would have less SC contenders in 4 years Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh and even the Blues will slow down that should be the time when the Wings are able to read establish themselves as SC contenders. -

Chara is still one of the best but whether or not their fans like it... Boston is an aging team and if they are smart they should be looking at possibilities to replace Chara before he falls off even more. The Wings were never prepared for Lids retirement because plan A wanted to play elsewhere. The Wings did have the skill yeah but Boston had one heck of difficult to play against roster. Agreed on the Thornton past he was a big part in terms of leadership and identity. Also I hate to bring up because I'm a huge fan of Bergeron but injuries will soon catch up on him. That being said Boston still has two years of cup contention If they replace Boychuk and get back to be the big bad Bruins. Safe for the leafs Boston is still the toughest team in the east and whether people like that identity or not.. It brought them a cup, a scf and SC contention for years. BTW. Rask will pull off a Timmy more often than not this season because that defense took a huge hit. -
Dan Rosen Pens a Great Piece on Babcock's Coaching Tree

frankgrimes replied to Dabura's topic in General
As stupid and simple that may read but... to me a coach/player/scout is worth whatever the organization hiring these guys is paying them, because it means both sides were happy with the presented contact otherwise one of the two parties wouldn't have signed the dotted line. -
Devils sign Brunner 2 yrs. $2.5 million AAV
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I know it's true but I'll - in most cases - won#t cheer for anyone on the cusp of losing his lifelong dream of being an NHL player. His agent did a really poor job here,he should have used his connections around the league to get a feeling for Brunner's market value and then decide to return ! -

Personally I'm MORE impressed with Babcock's work of getting last years edition into the playoffs than with Quenville and his mini dynasty roster. Losing Babcock means: - you lose a huge and well connected network << stuff like this is sadly still heavily underrated - the closest thing available to Scotty Bowman - someone who is well respected around the league and has connections with superstars Whoever the new guy is, he will have to create a network, earn the trust of the organization and his players plus the respect from the rest of the league. Don't get me wrong I think Blashill will be a good coach - maybe even a great one but that will take time, patience and some obvious growing pains. Also wouldn't it be nice if the Wings would again create another trend after front-loaded contracts ? As another big FU to the league and their salary cap and revenue sharing bs. -

There is no salary cap on coaches, if Babcock wants 5 + you pay it because everyone knows he is going to get the money no matter waht, the deciding factor will for sure be the chance to content annually(!) and more of a say in players decisions that's why I'm almost ruling out the Leafs, Shanahan and Babcock can't stand each other as far as I know.
