There is no way these people are really paying 50 % on taxes that would be insane. I mean the reason to have agents is to also get financial advise (how to invest your money, save taxes..) and I'm also quit sure guys like Kovalchuck, Alfie, Crosby ... do have their own tax lawyers making sure they are paying the absolute possible minimum which for sure is still a lot of money. Regardless this guy and his grandchildren are set for life. I hope Alfie doesn't think Cup versus Body because let's be honest he won't win a cup here. I don't want him to risk further injury or heaven forbid a serious one.
-
If that's what it takes sure. Babcock has all the leverage here his salary doesn't count against the cap and his resume is unreal. I don't think Quenville is the highest paid coach, I think it's Carlyle
-
not surprised he still believes everyone including coaches is lining up to be a Wing. If the wings lose Babcock well that would mean even less arguments to bring to players in. He will be the highest paid coach in hockey no matter what, if Holland low balls him Babs will move on and win some cups in steel town. You can bet Mario, Tannenbaum and a bunch of other teams would pay him 5 million per no matter what

Alfie go out in style no need to put your body through this you've already 68 $ million in your bank account! Sign a day contract in Ottawa and retire as a Senator don't just hang on for the sake of it like Brodeur and Jagr are doing it's just not worth it.

The prea_season keeps getting better and better I don't care about the camp invites but the Danny situation is making me nervous

Ovechkin is lazy, selfish and as one dimensional as they come. Mark my words the guy will be the next Kovalchuk

What has Mrazek to do with Dekeyser's negotiations? -
I like it a lot he did never fit here but the guy brings some energy best of luck with the Devils.
-
Ah you're right mixed that up so my bad. Yeah Backes and him are the epitome of top 6 powerforward my favorite type of forward.

Great experience and story I'm in the same boat I prefer smaller but a bit more expensive shops because they offer something all those company-chains will never have - service ! Also you get the satisfication of supporting small privately owned family-shops instead of big corporate trash (such as Wall Mart doubt they even have hockey gear). If I were you, I'd be asking other people maybe they can recommend a better shop somewhere else, drive there if you have time and buy as much as your pocket allows. May not be perfect but still beats buying from incompetent megastores.

http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/2638 7 - 6 - 5 - 1 - 7 compared to his two best season 13 and 10 fights that's a drop off don't you think ? Anyway regarding Leino if it's just a competition pto good idea, Holland tried the same thing but didn't work out (anyway I didn't care if we sign/don't sign Diaz).
-
Look at his fights after he signed the contract they've gone down but I'm looking for the article now hopefully I'll find it (think it was on tsn).

I'm just playing pond hockey here and there with friends, my gear is pretty much average. The gloves are probably the top equipment. Had the Reebok 26k they are ok but nothing too fancy. I might splurge this winter and buy new ones if we are going to play more.

The Bruins are still tough but compared to what they've been they are softer then in the previous years. Lucic - who is a real beast - has been told to fight less by Julien, same goes for Chara. McQuaid is also tough but only in his own weight class, Thornton brought physicality, energy, size and toughness. Watch out for Marchand now cleaning up his game. I mean, if you let Thornton go you have to replace him, the Bruins window is getting smaller while still open. Leino is as soft as they come this is a guy who couldn't even help the worst team in the league I just don't see how this guy could help the Bruins. MacIntyre would probably be the best replacement for Thornton he may not have the same skill but he hits like a tank on speed (that dude is damn scary) plus I'm sure he would cost less than Leino.
-
What the hell is wrong with a Chiarelli? First trading Seguin, now not re-signing Thornton and now Leino? The guy is the exact up opposite of a Bruin! Yeah they can send him down but I'll highly doubt he makes the team out of pto If he's smart he tries to replace Thornton but I guess he is confident with a softer Bruins team but only till the leafs are coming to town. Save for Chara nobody can take on Orr or Mclaren not even Lucic I expect some cheap shots against Bergeron, Krug and Krejci. This may very well be the softest Bruins edition since years I would be pissed if I were a Bruins fan

I agree with most of that save for Lashoff he is one of the - way too few - players who are willing to take the body on this team It's pr speech. -
MMA but only training, sparring

Exactly I'm far from being a pro but even as an amateur finger, hand injuries do influence the way someone trains. The other fingers have to share more pressure and the grip well...sucks Now imagine how Ericsson must feel for some time and yeah this has been news to me and it for sure will take some time till he feels confidant again. Which isn't good news if your defense is as bad as ours.
-
Finger, wrist injuries are worrysome remember the Crosby situation ? 4 days non stop news about surgery ?
-
It's even earlier than I thought so color me surprised at least people who thought the Wings would have a perfectly healthy roster now get a much needed dose of reality. The second best defender on the not healthy and the soon best defender not signed yet good times, good times As for Alfie I like the idea of signing him later if he is healthy if not he should sign a 1 day contract with the Senators and retire there.

I was very happy with the deal Tatar got part of it was the way the team handled him at first. Would I've bitched about it publicly? No but other than that his frustration was understandable. Yes this is an RFA versus UFA situation but in the end everyone knew that this contract would backfire. This isn't a team where UFAs are lining up to play for and now Holland starts to play hardball with the wrong players, this is not good. My personal believe is he wants Dekeyser to take less in order to bring back Alfie and Dekeyser doesn't bite neither would I. It's not a players job to help out a gm with the cap. I also don't care about his offensive production the job of a defender is to keep the prevent the puck from going into the net. This better gets resolved quickly it else our top pairing will be Kronner and Smith?! -

Great analysis thank got for that well done sir! Everyone knew from the day that albatross of a contract was signed that it will send a message to the Dekeyser camp. The guy has seen him play live, saw him on waivers and re_signed for 8.5 over two years... Danny is by far the better player heck I'll go as far as saying he was our second best defender after Kronner. So if I'm him I'll be thinking fine I'm a RFA but I'm still better than that 4.25 guy in every aspect of the game.. So everything under 3.5 is an insult and I wouldn't care one bit if there's enough money left to sign Alfie or not. If the relationship between the two goes south I'll be very disappointed and angry with a special overly loyal GM -

Can teams decline to participate? I mean if I'm Toews I wouldn't want 24/7 following me around for a month. -

Guess what I'd like to see that happen because it would show everyone how ridiculous this defense is without Danny Also a super way to make Babs job easier -

In other words the sky is blue. Why not rotate the damn teams? How about the Bolts versus the Avs Stamkos versus Duchene and stevie deserves to be part of one. Or the flames against the oilers? But no we need the caps and hawks again
