Hope you are wrong. The last thing this team needs is another season were they barely get in and bounced in the first round and while doing so not selling at the trade dead line.

Needs: Picks, Prospects Available: Basically everyone, overpayment needed for guys like Larkin who I think could and should be part of the next core Difficult to get rid of: everyone with a NMC/NTC and/or longterm contracts so that basically rules out guys like Abdelkader, Nielsen, Ericsson, Kronner Neither Tatar nor Nyquist will return a player like JVR, also JVR doesn't help right now because his a winger not a center. The guy has great size but doesn't use it to his advantage. So making any predictions when a team has so many needs and so many bad longterm contracts is tough, I just hope this team finally sells and stockpiles on picks and prospects.

Toews/Keith could go either way Kane, Seabrook and Hossa Hossa may have been the most needed one for their first cup because he had experience with stanley cup finals.

NO I think because he plays for the Hawks some DRW fans do have problem admitting how good this guy really is. Yes, he is struggling but guess what if he goes into beastmode come playofftime nobody would care about his regular season. I mean I hated the Avs with passion but I just couldn't bring myself to hate Sakic, it's the same with captain serious. Guy has won at every level and is an excellent 2 way center. If some people think he isn't elite fine, I do and there aren't too many guys I'd take over him. btw. could some mods rename this as the ASG thread please?

Resting so some veterans (Green, Vanek) aren't getting hurt so they won't be injured come trade dead line. I fully agree, whoever came up with the idea that every team should have a player in it probably doesn't understand the legal definition of an All Star. Best thing would be to scrap it altogether and come up with some better format in the coming years. If captain serious wasn't a Blackhawk I think he would get more respect. Yes, the guy has a down year but - it pains me to say it - he is a tremendous leader and an absolute stud when it counts the most...in the playoffs. Him admitting that he doesn't deserve it this year just shows how mature this kid is. If I were him I'd "receive" an injury and go on vacation to get away from hockey and let Panarin or Seabrook take my spot.

Well as it's the case with the more offense focused defenseman a lot of them sometimes play like a fourth forward. I mean you could also say Coffey / Harvey.

I can't wait till this team finally gets some real young talent and no more hoping that some players might turn out better than expected. No more waiting 3 plus years to let a player overripe. And hopefully more players with heart, size and the willingness to stand up for themselves. Three more losses in a row and scouts can finally prepare for the draft. Time to move on from this Wings edition and build one that's better and more entertaining to watch and follow. Mid season is speaking volumes and other than 2 maybe 4 players I don't care who leaves...the more picks, peospects the better.

Last time Vanek returned a second and some sort of prospect. Now he is older and a third liner on a good team so a team would have to really be all in on order to give the Wings a first rounder for him. A second is much more realistic. Green should net the Wings a bit of a better return, he is signed through next season but I also don't think a team would give up a first for him hopefully I am wrong. A second for Smith? Also a bit high a prospect in need of change or third rounder would make me happy. Asking price for Tatar would be a second, same for Goose

Trouba is awesome but he will also be free after next year. So if he is interested in coming here you go after him then and by adding a top 5 pick it would maybe entice him more. Lilejegren, Foote + Trouba + Danny D. is a damn good start for rebuilding the defense. Altough Patrick would be awesome outtanking the Avs, Isles and Coyotes will be tough. It sucks that there aren't any can't miss elite guys this year.

That's why this pick needs to be kept it could be a really really good one, everything between 1 - 5 is really possible!

So the first top 5 pick in what seems to be an eternity and people are willing to trade him. What makes some guys think Trouba would sign an extension here? Love the kid, great player and underappreciated in Winnipeg but his contract is over after next season and then he will be an UFA. This first round pick is the option for a cost controlled player who has the potential to either become the much needed number 1 center (Patrick), or a defensive stud (Foote, Liljegren..)

Really simple: better than expected: Z, Vanek, Green, Howard Good: Larkin, Mantha, AA, Ott brings grit and has a very low caphit Average: Danny D., Sproul Others oh well....

For all I care learn his native language or hire someone to translate it. I go by what I've read and it sounds like he wants out which is his right and fine by me. Nobody forced him to play in the world cup he could have had surgery back then instead of playing through it and maybe be a better player for the Wings who knows. Doesn't even matter anymore, he is unhappy and expects and/or wants to get moved. Maybe a team hurting for offense is offering something useful for him.

Well big changes could mean everything from just trading some veterans, to firing the coach, front office or what really needs to happen scorched earth. But the point is Tatar wants out, so find the best deal and bye. can't have a guy who wants out being part of a rebuild. He would help himself the most if he started to play better so more teams could show interest

There can't be too many near untouchables when the team should be on the verge of finally doing a scorched earth move. For me it ends after Larkin and Mantha and even they are available if others are willing to overpay. AA seems to be the new flavor of the year...just like Larkin was last year.

Well he wants out, so be it. Let's see what other teams are willing to give up and hope for a solid pick or prospect. Situation in the lockerroom must be really toxic right now. So ship the unhappy players and bad apples out and start building a new team, hopefully led by a guy like Patrick

For me it's a combination of a lot of things but I'm not willing to give the players a free pass. It shouldn't matter who the coach is, I mean these guys are part of the best 700 players in the world shouldn't they have enough competitive spirit to get pissed of (not just close door meetings) on the ice? Altough thinking about it yes the coach does share some of the blame too he should be able to get them to work and play hard, no questions asked. Guys mentioning how Blashill is a players coach and Babs was too hard for some guys has me thinking maybe some of them were expecting some bye-weeks under Blashill... As for do you watch the games? "Thankfully" I was able to watch the third period rthanks to the late starting time. This "how to be a fan" discussion is so ridiculous. Why should people support a franchise that's happy with just being one of the teams instead of building to the only team again? Guaranteed the LCA will have increased prices through the board including parking, meals and drinks so people should spend more for a less entertaining product without a real goal? That kind of thinking will fade quickly and once that happens the new fancy building won't have a fancy attendance. Edmonton got away with their highest pricing because of #97, heck I'd rather pay a lot of money to see this guy than watching this former great team going through the motions. Every rational person will decide if the return of investment is there or not and if it isn't why waste time and money?
