It's all a matter of context: Blues looked like the clear loser two times in a row and then with a minute to go turned it around two times, that has to sting a lot for the Hawks. But I agree some teams are really starting to celebrate like the series is over... As for Columbus that's not a normal win for this team far from it, it's their first playoff win EVER against the second best team in the east for sure this means a lot not only to the players but for the franchise itself.

Agreed I can easily the first one going to be ugly: 1. first playoff game for a lot of these kids 2. had to use a lot of energy to even make the playoffs 3. Bruins are fresh, healthy and ready to go infront of their homecrowd 4. led by the human tree known as Chara So yeah not feeling this one but game 2 should be a lot more competitive.

Exactly a team like the Wings can't get into the rough stuff and give the Bruins their energy, they really feed off on that. Wings need to play smart and use speed and skill. But obviously I trust Babcock with a good gameplan.

I know they are from Boston but some of their songs are just made for hockey. Another thing I love about our sport most hardrock/new-metall and metal songs are just matching so well other sports can't say the same thing (nascar with country being the exception)

Well playing them like this is a gamble Boston loves physical matchups and they are built for it, the Wings well we all know the story..so I agree the only chance is speed and skill so hopefully they have a lot left in the tank. Only the Blues, Leafs, Flames ( Lucic wouldn't even look at his gloves with McGrattan in the lineup...)and maybe Kings can afford to go into the rough stuff with the big Bear but for sure not the Wings. The only chance to get a win against this team is to keep the pedal on the gas by using the youths speed other than that the Bruins aren't having a weakness

With Umberger + Horton out things will be hard but I think if Columbus can get under the Pens skin and Fleury pulls a Fleury they can win this.

Doesn't matter what you think, Amac to Holmer was worth 5 million per and so he got it as simple as that. Overpayment is part of giving up UFA rights.

If you negotiate like that no player will re-sign. Every forward would be compared to Gretzky...The market for defenders this year is at an all-time bad, Amac would have been on of the best available defenseman, his agent he and Holmer knew it. The Flyers prospect pool ie one of the worst in the league so they need to overpay for talent and this is far from a crazy contract. The cap keeps rising Timonen will be off the books. Look I'm not trying to say this contract is great but it is indeed market value for a guy like Amac. Is Phaneuf worth 7 million per ? No he would have gotten that come July 1 it's as simple as that. I'm always trying to look at things from a player point of view they have a once in a lifetime chance to go to UFA if you want them to give that up, the GM better pays well a hockey career isn't that long and they need to cash in.

Wheter people like or not Amac would have gotten the same if not more on the open market Holmer knew it. You aren't going to get a young top pairing defenseman under 7 mill anymore thanks to the stupid CBA so why shouldn't second pairing guys cash in for giving their bodies to the team? At some point people have to understand the time for giving hometown discounts is gone and the owners brought it to themselves by employing a midget and locking out the players 3 times in a row. So instead of bitching about the deal why not grats Amac? He finally gets to play for an organization which will spend to the cap instead of lowballing their players. Also there is no purpose in having a hard cap, if leagues want a cap it should be MLB like.
