What a great signing this has been, he played like BS when healthy and after that he is injured all the time. That's exactly why I didn't want this guy here he came back after almost missing half a seaon last year and now he is AGAIN missing 50 ~ games. With 30+ Weiss has some serious offseason work to do if he wants to get back into hockeyshape and hopefully contribute something positive to our line-up. Tortarella has never been the right coach for this team, he basically removed all creativity from the team and they still would have had a ton of it plus overpayed his stars way too much. In fact he hasn't learned anything from the Rangers days. If the Acquilinis are going to fire both thats around 16 million payment for them NOT to run the club wow. Now add to that the Kesler situation and the Canucks are looking at some very difficult years unless their AHL team has some raw hided talent.

I don't get it either, the new format just sucks. The seeding before it was upfront, clear and everyone could understand it. I know the NHL tries to create some plastic rialvires but seriously it doesn't work that way. But honestly I'd rather play Pittsburgh than the big 1.000 lb gorilla named Bruins this bear is built for the playoffs and safe for Toronto, Philly and the Blues - if they are dressing Reaves - nobody is going to match their physicality and skill.

There are some Leafs players I really like Orr, McLaren, Kessel, JVR, Bernier, Reimer and that Reilly kid but some are just pure arrogant showboaters (Kadri, Lupul). Add to that a very bipolar loud fanbase, where sadfully the knowledgeable people are also the quiet ones it becomes hard to really "like" them. Personally the league should thank all Original Six teams without them this league wouldn't even exist and a certain commisher would NOT be allowed to create plastic teams in questionable locations with a marginal fansupport. As for Carlyle: The guy was just a shortterm fix he is a good coach but also very old school and blunt with his players, some luck that others do not. I know I wouldn't like it.
