Ducks and kings are out of the Vanek sweepstakes according to the insiders. Wow, the price must really be insane then for a pure rental. If I am Murray or Lombardi I would rather focus on Moulson or Cammalieri.
-
Keep in mind the Ducks are also a strict budget team so I highly doubt Murray can go after Vanek or Kesler. Maybe someone like Moulding but where does he fit?

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

A guy like Luke Schenn would help out greatly and I think his asking price won't be as high as Ehrhoff's Other than that looking at the big picture standing pat wouldn't be too bad yeah I could mean missing the playoffs but it also means a better draft pick and a chance to accelerate the rebuild in the McDavid year. -

Happy for Luongo I am sure he is very happy to be out of this clusterf*** and Acquilani better acts quick, because no one will want to play for the Canucks under the duo of Torts + Gillis. -
Oh thanks for the clarification well that's a tough cap situation but I still like the deal really nothing to complain about from a Flyers point of view. As an Islanders fan I would have for sure wanted a first for him.
-
Flyers will have some space Timmonen is done after this season so that's 6 million they could easily invest 4,5 of that on Amac.

wow Holmer fleeced Snow...surprise surprise

Well you could easily say Ovechkin has an NBA attitude too heck when it comes down to it NBA, soccer and football often go hand in hand bad attitude wise but especially football and soccer are known for their over the top celebrations. Especially Ovechkin and his stick on fire dance was embarassing. Yeah the microscope in the Habs universe is tremendous their front office should take a page out of how the Wings are doing things, big city original 6 franchise but the players aren't under that constant microscope. Personally I would not risk a cursed locker-room because some guy things he can be above the team. If THE captain nor Lids weren't above the team nobody else should even dare to claim something like that and thats exactly why I think players need to fit in personalitywise also.

My tablet will for sure be on alert mode but after the Kesler, Vanek trades are down I really don't expect much activity.
-
Wow Mac Tavish is shaking up their goaltending nicely Fasth as the starter and Scrivens is god enough to be a very servicable backup there. btw. the Penner trade doesn't make sense to me Washington just like us needs defense and yet they sign another forward.
-
Ovechkin to me has more a soccer attitude --> over the top celebrations, golden shoe laces and all that stuff Under their old coach he had fights with his own team-mates, is still acting like the world surrounds him and just comes off as a cocky kid. I don't know but despite guys like Price, Briere, Prust, Parros and Murray the Habs really don't have a lot of likeable lowkey guys it seems for whatever reason. To be honest I'd rather have Ehrhoff i have never heard a bad word about him, always the opposite great teammate, low maintenance and working extremely hard.

Kesler as a third Center? Good luck with that Bylsma the guy was pissed off at first because he didn't get first line center minutes. I'm wondering at what point Mario Lemieux steps in to set Shero straight. I mean does he really believe they can outscore everybody by such a large margin? Good teams know how to play against Pittsburgh, get Crosby of his game and shut his line down...the defense will take care of everything else the word is already out and yet Shero is only thinking about forwards amazing. -
NBA attitude, arrogant, agitator not defensively responsible and will command way too much money. if Pietrangelo isn't getting close to 7 Million neither should he, I think the Canadiens offered him a great deal. There is a reason why every coach is having some difficult times with him, the kid has some serious growing up to do, same goes for that Eller kid. People joking about Karlsoon "only a fourth forward" Subban is basically the same BUT with all the mentioned attitude problems.

The thing with Kesler is, does he even waive for the Wings ? Yeah, he is a Michigan boy but other than that the Wings situation is not that much different from the one he currently is in. The guy wants to win a cup neither Detroit nor Vancouver are going to be cup contenders in this or next year. Another thing to consider is again the asking price, with Pittsburgh offering Pouiliot, Bennet, Sutter + 1 let them get him and mortage their future... Jurco, Helm, Kindl + first won't get the job done and Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan and Dekeyser should be non starters, period. Heck even Holmgren was rumored to be shocked by the asking price one of Couture, B. Schenn, Laughton + 1 so go along Shero add another piece for your insane top 6 instead of fixing your D As for Vanek if the Wings want him, make him an offer come July 1 the guy has said over and over again, he will test free agency. -

If he really said that Shero would be insane never show another GM your cards. What if Crosby and Kesler don't fiit well? I would love for someone calling his bluff - offer Toews and Kane so he has to match it with Crosby and Malkin we could then add Nyquist Pasha and Z...at the end of the day Pittsburgh will get Kesler for 90 % of the roster :-) When it comes down to it is there really any player who is getting along well with Torts? I highly doubt it if I were Kesler I would have asked for a trade too 1. I'm in the drivers seat and 2. I might get the chance to compete for lord Stanley -

So true, I feel horrible for Luongo such a great goaltender and classact with the way he is handling all of that. Wonder at what point Aquilani is saying enough with this and fire him. Man if Shero is really offering Sutter, Pouiliot a first and third and Gillis declines then just wow.. -

Their top 6 would be tremendous but guess what if they are running into teams like the Blues, Kings, Bruins or any team with a strong defensive concept things won't end well for Pittsburgh again. It has been proven time and time again defense wins championships. Giving away their best offensive and defensive prospects + a first for a guy who will be an UFA after this year and for sure asking for a raise? If I'm Shero I'd rather look at at the Schenn brothers to bolster the D and O. For his size Kesler is also a big diver and a somewhat primadonna. Just listened to the Insiders and wow Gillis is insane if he doesn't come down on his asking price. Maybe he wants a second Luongo situation.. -

God please let Shero win it and overpay for him. The Pens are really drying out their future giving away top prospects and firsts like it's a candy bar Who needs defense anyways...Hell yeah to Scott he is a tough customer and will fight everyone not his fault that Nolan is such an idiot who won't let him fight. I am watching the Leafs right now and Columbus is taking runs at Reimer...good job nor having the bash brothers in the lineup... -

I don't think the asking price for Kesler is shocking we are talking about Gillian here. A guy who rather makes his organization and the involved player look bad instead of accepting a fair deal. Kesler is not Toews or Crosby so yeah two top prospects and a first rounder is not gonna happen. Tsn is really hyping this thing up sadly also their last trade deadline f*** you Rogers -

I don't view Jurco in the same category as the mentioned ones so if he is part of a package for Ehrhoff I would be okay with that. What do the Sabres need? They suck at every position so maybe Mrazek Jurco and second rounder are enough -
Burke said his untouchables list pretty small but mentioned Monahan and Giordano aren't going anywhere

Tatar, Helm and a first for Kesler ? Gillian takes that and starts running but yeah it will be around the asking price that's why i don't want him. I would do the Ehrhoff trade -

Better than trade youth and a 1 rounder for another stopgap but whatever. Looking at all these rumors Ehrhoff seems to be making the most sense although I would prefer Myers. -

God damnit read: McLaren is someone to keep guys like Cowen, Neil honest I highly doubt Neil would running around like he does against us with a guy like McLaren in the lineup. Does McLaren provide a lot? No but he can be had for almost nothing and doesn't cost anything, Weiss is paid to be a valuable second line or very very good third line center so far he hasn't been that. Sadly, I think Burke will pick him up and give the Flames a very dangerous punch McGrattan, McLaren and when he is healthy again Westgarth, so I'm not getting my hopes up yet. I'm glad Holland finally likes the youth and hopefully Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan and Dekeyser are still Wings come Thursday.
