Jiri Hudler shoots and misses ... again and again

Is Hudler really that small or was the guy infront of him just that huge ?

    2/8 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Lightning 4

Will be a tough game. Sadly, I've looked forward to this as the return of Stammer (sorry but love watching him play) A win against such a good team before the break would be huge.

    Jimmy Howard's New Olympic Mask

Wow that mask is a beauty, seeing all these great masks I may be splurge on such a design too. Are there any infos on how much such a design would cost if it doesn't 300 $ I'd be willing to dit.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

I'm starting to wonder, if there are players who don't clash with this coach. Edler is a great player and for the right price sure get him but looking at Gillis and his trade demands, he'd be asking for way too much. Wheeler, Ladd or Bogosian are the only guys I would be interested in, if I'm Holland (there is no way Scheifele would be available). Something I want to make clear is this: this team is known for its low-key professional approach I don't think guys with a big mouth, big ego would be fitting here well, they'd become a locker room distraction immediately.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

The Guy is fat meaning he doesn't take being a pro and that gift seriously. The were rumours about stuff like that, when he was with the Thrashers, Blackhawks and now again under under Noel. Guys like that just won't fit here. As for Edler I don't think the Canucks are going to trade him, why not keep him for the retooling? They are in a pretty similar situation like us.

    Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Same here the guy is rugged and a good ol' Michigan boy on top of that he shouldn't cost too much

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Edler isn't lazy and far from being a coach killer or questionable teammate. The Canucks would be stupid to get rid of him without overpayment

    Gustav Nyquist Appreciation Thread

Great player and he is learning from one of the best. Blashill is doing a superb job with the GR and getting them ready for the big club, kudos.

    'Detroit's Dark Horse Potential'

The thing is, once you are in every team has a 1/16 chance to win Lord Stanley but at the end of the day, there are the top tier teams (LA, St. Louis, Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh..) and then there are the behind the pack ones. Without adding some size and grit to the defense (top 4 guy) this team will have to fight in order to make the playoffs so let's not get over ourselves here, this team is the definition of streaky, the can go on some winning streaks and follow that up with enormous losing streaks, in playoff language that could mean: 2 wins and 4 desasterous games = out. Personally all I want to see is the team playing hard and giving it their all. Tatar, Nyquist, Dekeyser and Shehan have made this team much more watch and enjoyable but none the less defense needs help.

    Kris Letang Suffers Stroke

All the best to him and his loved ones. Hopefully he can enjoy a long and succesful career without anything like that again, damn scary if you think about it. The guy really doesn't have it easy, constant headaches and now this get well soon Letang.

    NHL may rethink Sochi

Not surprising after all the threats and constant fear, many are going DVR the games and watch them safely at home. I know I will do so that being said, to all the visitors may you be safe and able to watch great games.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

That's the way how MG is doing his deals and then wonders, why nobody bites. They've had a deal in place for Luongo and then he upped the price again and fall short. I'd like Edler but not for the asking price of a 1 st + A level prospect + rather sign a physical guy like AMac, he can fill the shutdown role nicely and would give us a much better second pairing without costing draft picks or prospects.

Preds Gm David and Pete Weber hospitalized in Minnesota

Sucks all the best to both of them and speedy recovery. May sound bad, that they've been lucky could have been worse

Olympics provide much needed time off for Red Wings

When ~ half the roster is going to the olympics it's not like a real break. Especially with the bigger ice = more miles

2/6 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Panthers 1

Might as well win a game against this team :-)
  16. Right choice Stevo Neal is a punk and just benefiting like Kunitz from playing with the best player in the world. Now the only remaining question is, will MSL accept or decline because of what happened 1 month ago.
  17. I've read the whole thing more than once to make sure I understand everything. Anyway, why not take him as an extra the tournament is 2 or 3 weeks long maybe his bone is going to heal at an unforseen pace ? Don't get me wrong I understhand being cautious at all, but I just don't think its fair to Stamkos after everything he has done to make it. Wouldn#t you agree? But if they name MSL I will be happy for him.
  18. Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman, who is also Team Canada's executive director, says Stamkos "should not be participating in game action at any time in the near future." TSN quoted Stevie so who didn't read it ? I really feel for Stamkos such an amazing player to watch, what a tough decision against him. Pick MSL now
  19. Stevie what the f*** are you doing ? First passing on MSL and now declining Stamkos after his amazing rehab? I don't get it. Feeling so sorry for the poor kid he did everything in his powers, Stevie you are the GM of team Canada overrule them for crying out loud.

    Muslims targeting Sochi :(

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2014/01/21/22382939-sochi-olympics-terrorism-threat-two-more-black-widow-suspects-identified?lite after reading this story, I hope some of the nations are pulling their participation. Why risk your life for just two weeks I know it sucks for the Olympics, but the IOC should have picked a safer city. This already has made the rounds with TSN insiders, do you think the NHL or NHLPA will step in at some point ? First I was worried about the atlethes because of the KGB, but now I'm worried because of Russia + Muslims. tldr: don't risk it there will be another tournament in 4 years its not worth it.

CBC partners with Rogers in landmark NHL rights deal.

Money can do a lot of things but it can't buy the best personal in that case because well they are working for TSN :-) Only Don Cherry and Ron MacLean are going to help their knowledgebase other than that, their stuff is FAR from impressive.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

I'd rather have a guy like Steve Ott although priority #1 needs to be the defense.

    Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Agree I think having a competent coaching stuff and the benefit of instructions from one of the best defenseman of alltime could only help him. I still think the guy has a god given talent combined with enormous size, if he puts it all together the sky will be his limit. Defenders with such an upside aren't hitting UFA very often so let's hope the Sabres are buying him out

    NHL may rethink Sochi

We are talking about basic things here and if they can't even get that right than oh my. I'm starting to think this might be a tactic in order to give the russian athletes an edge. What are the other people supposed to do buy Smirnoff 24/7 instead of water and not using the shower ? Yeah the most expensive olympics ever can't even get basic things right and no, this is not an overreaction people around the world are worried about the health and safety of their national representors = athletes! In all seriousness though, water = NO brainer same should go for electricity, elevators. If I were a journalist I'd tell my boss this isn't acceptable screw you guys I'm going home!

CBC partners with Rogers in landmark NHL rights deal.

Their on air personal let's put it simply sucks compared to the TSN ones and most of them have re-signed anyways The studio and presentation standard isn't even in the same universe as TSN, so I really hope this deal will backfire so hard that the owner are finally going to can that midget and are looking at longterm goals in their next TV deal. They would have to pull off a miracle in order to make this work.
