Fully agreed Pietrangelo and Suter have been my non-Wings favourite for quite some time, both are excellent and don't give a s*** about looking flashy, they are just getting the job done in some impressive fashion. To be fair, I think even a clown would care more about his teammates than this wannabe defender.

Agreed no need to have guys with an NBA, soccerlike attitude on a team thats trying to retool on the fly and loaded with classy guys. Personally I'm also not a fan of all the flashy offensive minded defenseman if they are Niedermayer Lidström like sure but otherwise I'd take guys like Pietrangelo, Suter or Keith Seabrook over any of them (maybe Weber being the exception). Having said that this game is boring, nice that the Wings are leading but given both are original 6 teams there should be way more energy

Smurfs are above the Wings in the standings so this would be an opportunity to get some much needed points. But in the end it really depends on which team will show up. Hopefully Subban and Eller are getting Kronwalled can't stand those two.

Exactly in no way does Kindl return you Del Zotto even if he was in Vigenaults doghouse and is having a terrible year. No GM would be that stupid. Starting to question Poile who the hell is going to score all the goals for them ? Sure their defense is lightyears above ours but in terms of offense I have a hard time seeing someone who can get 20 - 30 goals on this team.

Howard + first for a hometown boy who is back to being elite ? Sure. I want Ott on the team but it's not like he is going to be that big of a differnse, Poile overpaid for Gaustad. If I am Armstrong I'd offer Halak + 1st for Miller

Think so too, Babcock and Holland are used to seeing great players dominate and supportplayers being just that support players. Just because someonei s a veteran doesn't mean you they are going to play over their heads magically, ride the young generation and see where it leads. I know tough love is part of the business, but cutting someones icetime because he made a mistake is not going to help let them play through it.

Babcock sounds a lot like he has already quit on the season. That being said, he still doesn't trust the youth enough and that's hard to understand. The veterans just are over the hill, yes the kids will make mistakes but so what at least they are learning from it. If Babcock and Holland aren't on the same boat anymore, then it's time for someone to go and I don't think Holland will make that decision alone, Mike Ilitch will for sure have something to say about it too. I still think Babcock is by far the best coach but every coach has a shelf life. Maybe he isn't happy with the way this team is built at all and that's why he doesn't trust the young guns who knows.

Like I said I think goaltending right now is their only weakness, Elliot and Halak just aren't cup contending goaltenders.

A first round pick for an upcoming UFA who isn't a star wow. Buffalo really has to lower their expectations for Miller and Ott. I would not do it for the simple fact: I think it could be the best draft position this team has had in some time. The guy will be an UFA so why not wait a few months and make him an offer them without paying a first rounder.
