Noise Controllers - Immortal Essence (qlimax 2013)

Same here, I mean shouldn't the player be the first one getting the call? It's about him, then phone the GM and then the coach. Still can't believe, how much class Phaneuf showed by not slamming the door hitting the wall or stuff like that, if I were him I'd be heavily pissed. Also creating drama, is just stupid. Both franchises are way to storied for buying into any prewritten stories and I'm thankful for that. Personally, what I'd really like tos ee would be Kenny and Nonis talking about trades with other GMs, how the coaches are going through the tactical preparations and some other game related stuff. Seeing their superb cars, awesome mansions just makes me realize how much I'd love to have all that stuff too, so that's why I'd rather NOT see it at all *g*

See and that's exactly how I want to remember him, as a great player putting up great numbers. At 40+ the decline from one year to another can be huge and that's just something I don't want to see happening to Alfredsson. I mean, the guy is already wearing an A and brings a ton of leadership which is great and much needed, given that Z is out but my point stands. I hope you are right, he deserves it. As for wanting an 42 old perfect human for sure who wouldn't? Having said that, I remain confident Kenny might get his oldest son, so that would mean a young Lidström for 2 decades it doesn't get better than that

Well guessed wrong, I did that doesn't mean I have to believe it.

Even with such an outstanding roster, winning the gold medal infront of the home crowd is not that easy. So no, any non pro coach claiming they would have won it with this team too, is getting a bit over themselves. Team USA had a guy named Ryan Miller playing out of his mind. Yes, it is easier to coach a bunch of allstars and future HoFers but if they aren't instructed well enough nothing will come out of it, as shown by Team Canada during last years WJC. Babcock has his flaws just like every other coach, gm but the guy damn well knows his business, otherwise there is no way someone could have had such an impressive set card as a coach. Making the playoffs last year almost was a miracle, lately his GM really has let him down in terms of player personal, he can only work with what Kenny is giving him. Personally I like Tippet and i think he is a great coach, but for whatever reason I feel like the guy is made for non major hockey-markets. His systems are simple, yet hard to defeat and he can get a bunch of average NHLers to play above their skillset for him but he certainly can't get top players to reach the next level. As for Babcocks replacement when the time is right, I would like to see Carlyle or Barry Trotz.

I disagree let the vets go and build a new core around Pasha and Z.I'm glad Alfie is playing well but I'd rather remember him as a good player than someone who is hanging on far too long, like Teemu Selanne in Anaheim. If Melynk has any class Ottawa should retire his number, after he hangs them up.

The DetroitRedWings have been horrible at the Joe all season long, so expecting fans to pay premium pices and show up no matter what might happen in Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton but certainly not in Hockeytown anymore. I think a part of it has to do with the fact, that this is a boring team to watch and a lot of people like blue collar hockey more than watching a bunch of veterans displaying some dimishing skills. Something I will hardly ever understand, is why people are getting blamed for leaving early? Traffic can be horrible, people have to go to work, school or collegue so they need to be well rested and prepared if that means leaving a game early, so be it. Sure, empty seats aren't nice but this can be improved easily, build a team people want to support and get behind more easily.

$$$$ talks I guess...unreal

I think it's just a shame in europe we call "fans" like this Hooligans meaning their main interest isn't the game it's getting into brawls with other fans. If I were a pro athlete making such crazy money the first thing I'd do is providing my family and friends with bodyguards at away games.

Agreed, given their near endless resources the best owner in all of sports has provided, Kenny could and should have done a better job. Also I love the way Chiarelli is building his teams, Shero seems to have an eye for adding valuable complementary players and well Stevo Y rebuild the Tampa Bay Lighting without much resources.

Stanley Cup winning coach Olympian gold medal coach in his own country more wins than any other coach As for Kennys replacement I pray it will be Chiarelli, Shero or my favorite obviously Stevo Y

That's not big bad Getzlaf, Maroon, Yonkman, Jackman are physical yeah but let them square off against some real tough teams, I'll doubt either one of them wants to dance with Thornton, Orr, Mclaren, Lucic, McGrattan.

Since 2009 the playoffs results haven't been impressive given the high standards. The DetroitredWings since then have never made it further than the 2 second round, which is and should be unacceptable. The perfect human at that time was closing in to 40, so that should have been the moment for Kenny to stop his status quo and patchwork approach and be more aggressive come UFA/trade deadline. As for Babs best coach in hockey by far, but every coach has a shelf life. Personally I believe he would another type of players and a more balanced roster, but I agree sometimes his line combinations aren't based on the best performance but solely on player A = veteran (plays), B != doesn't play. That said I think before Babs gets the boot, a lot will have to happen: missing the playoffs back to back or getting swept in the first round at that point I think the best owner in all of sports would show him and Kenny the door. Latter would just become the VP of hockey opterations for the Ilitch holding.

Yeah, 5 games for Neal is a joke but I am sure he will have to answer for that sometime.

Can't remember the last time we were this pathetic

give me the upcoming alumni roster in their prime please ! -
The guy reminds me of a young Bertuzzi (before the Moore thing), he is the definition of a powerforward wouldn't surprise me at all if the olympic team would make him their captain.

As much as it sucks, injuries are part of the game just like fighting, scoring, goaltending. Other teams are dealing with injuries too, good teams are finding ways to overcome them or at least stay competetive. What's happening right now, is the result of having a team that is outside of their two remaining stars not very good and or even good enough. Pasha is coming back from a concussion, so for sure it will take him some time, to regain his form and who knows what is really wrong with Z's back. The point is, this team can't feel sorry for themselves, they need to find ways to be competetive given the current situation, does that mean they should beat some top teams? No, but even with all the injuries beating teams like the Florida panthers, Tampa Bay Lighting and New york Islanders should be no brainers and to be expected. Hate to break it to some, but even healthy this is not a team others teams are afraid of playing (hard), even the former castle Joe Louis Arena has turned into a point machine for the opponent! So yes, injuries are holding the Detroit Red Wings back a bit, but the point overall the depth isn't good enough to carry the load (and that includes a healthy roster too). -
I would agree with that. Even if it's a bit on the highend side Steen is a steady 50 - 70 pts guy with the rising cap and his team needing all the offense they can get, the deal is fair for both sides. Hopefully this doesn't leave them with enough internal budget money to sign Backes.

Nice to see him up, hopefully he can provide some much needed energy.

Better than having Weiss for almost 5 million and even longer with an ntc...

Disclaimer: I love big, hard and sometimes bonecrushing hits and all that rough stuff but Wilson really? I know Brayden is to blame here too, for horrible positioning but boy that was an obvious charge, to me it seems like (watching it on the 10' tablet), that Wilson even picked up speed for the hit. Love the response from Grossman and Simmonds, wouldn't surprise if Schenn would be out with a concussion Do that against the Calgaryflames or Boston Bruins and Wilson doesn't leave the ice standing. This should be 5 - 8 games.

Who cares if its boring or not? These are hockeyplayers not actors and some of them are introverted and don't like cameras all around them. This HBO thing is just starting to get annoying. Personally, I'd tell them don't film me I am not comfortable infront of cameras and don't want you guys to follow me around, pleaser understand that.

2 freaking weeks ago http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/75642-121-gdt-red-wings-4-at-senators-2-alfredsson-scores-eng/?view=findpost&p=2460019 --> this edition is better than the 2002 and now another 180 degree turnaround, so what is it?

Still can't believe we got this guy at 20 + a 2 nd rounder from Douglas Murray, what a steal :-)
