    HBO 24/7

    Fully agreed here. Like I've posted in the Weiss thread I would decline them to follow me around, especially at my home. I can easily understand why players aren't liking that at all.

    Howard = Average

    If i were an athlete I'd tell HBO that I am introverted guy and they are not allowed to follow me with their cameras. Weiss needs to find his game in a hurry so stuff like HBO is the last thing he needs.

    Weiss

    Maybe he just doesn't fit with the style Mike Babcock likes? So the question would then be why did they sign him for 5 years? Without the only two stars he needs to step it up

    Mike Commodore's experience with the Wings

    I fully understand Mike Commodore it sucks when someone is lying to your face. That's why I'm a big Fab of having the coach and GM on the same page, when it comes down to personal. Babcock needs a certain type of players and Kenny has to provide him with them.

    Howard = Average

    So far the monster has been better, so starting Jonas Gustavsson is a no brainer

    Howard = Average

    It's not that difficult, the Monster has been playing well so why not start him till Howy is getting his game gback seems like a no brainer to me.

    Lundqvist, Rangers agree on extension.

    Best goalie in the world not having a great team in front of him and has put the whole team of his shoulders way more often than not, at least to me that's very deserving of a big contract.

    Lundqvist, Rangers agree on extension.

    King Henrik didn't have success? This guy is more often than not the only reason the NewYorkRangers are even in the mix for the playoffs. An annually Vezina nominee, the best goaltender in the world by far and probably the most beloved player they have letting him go was never an option. Thanks to the stupid CBA GMs can't get creative with contracts anymore because they are all under a regime if they don't follow suit = losing a draft pick in the first round. 8,5 per year is a lot but the king certainly deserves it.

    Zetterberg out at least 2 weeks with herniated disc

    That's a big problem right here, the two best centers are out now others really need to step up. Try Helmet as a 2 line center? Get well soon captain beard

    Shea Weber leaves game with Injury

    Kronwall is playing on the edge but he never ever goes into DB mode, which Weber does. I mean there is difference between playing hard/tough and act like a complete fool (i.e glasssmash) or going after guys way under the own size. S. Thornton isn't a scrub he can play more than a bit, is a physical presence and has some leadership skills.
  11. Next year is the last time to use it.

    Hull "Avery doesn't get to talk to Sakic"

    Just a great read I can't stand the Avalanche but a lot of respect goes to Sakic, the guy lead by example and was a class act.

    Datsyuk concussion: To Return Tuesday

    Rushing a player of that caliber and as important as him would not be a good idea. So even if he is practicing right now, he most likely will wear a no contact jersey so that's another week till he might have contact again add to that the time to get fully into shape and it's ~ 3 weeks at the earliest. Also judging by Kronwalls comments, I don't expect a quick return if it does happen I will be pleasantly surprised.

    Datsyuk concussion: To Return Tuesday

    Personally I am sadly starting to think Pasha won't see the ice until mid January

    Shea Weber leaves game with Injury

    Wouldn't have happened, with someone like McCarty or Kocur in the lineup and that's my biggest beef with Weber, he is always playing on the edge but never ever backs the stuff up. I've never seen him fighting against McGrattan, Orr, Engelland, MacIntyre, S Thornton aso...to me he seems to be a spotpicker and I don't respect that, earlier it was McKenzie doing the fights for him and lately it seems to be Raves. Also thanks god, this wasn't anything serious otherwise the "punishment" would have looked even more laughable than the non suspension for Cowen.
  16. Callahan would be a nice addition, him Peluso and maybe Moulson (cheap 30 goal scorer), would really shake up this roster quite a bit and inject enough youth into the lineup.

    Retaliation

    Exactly the way I'm seeing out, others may disagree which is fine but at the end of the day this team was a lot more exciting to watch and follow. Especially in the playoffs having a few guys that can protect your players doesn't hurt. A prime example for a modern day McCarty would be Peluso from the WinnipegJets, guy is tough, can win a fight and chip in some goals here and there the thing is, the AHL is full of such players but yet they are getting overlooked, which is a shame.

    Darren McCarty Book Excerpts

    Going to buy his book for sure, McCarty alongside Kocur will always be remembered as one of my favorite DetroitRedWings. You can tell from all the stories, the team bonding in this group must have been unreal. I also fully agree with him about the best rivalry in all of sports, Detroit Colorado was just the way hockey nees to be a diamond to watch and enjoy. Hopefully he can fully overcome his demons. Just reading that article was great oh so many great memories of that time, wish it would 1996 - 02 again.

    Well, I believe some soccer-mums and soccer-dads are only happy once hockey is as lame as soccer. The player on the team is missing games with a concussion, the NHL isn't doing anything about it? Who cares, the PP is our enforcer and mastermind Kenny is always right...(at least in the eyes of the soccer mums, soccer-dads). And yet some people are still questioning, why the interest in this team isn't the same as it was back in the days, no, it's not only skill related it's also that sense of seeing a team which will stand up for each other no matter what. I'm so sick of this "puck posession" style this team certainly isn't skilled enough for that anymore, so they clearly lack an identity. I am very sure the Senators are already laughing, Cowen took out the DetroitRedWings best player and the response was...well winning a game that could have gone either way, only Sam has shown some heart. The funny thing is, as soon as this team is winning a few games they are back the "almighty" puck-posession style and everyting is fine right? No it's not, not standing up for your best player reflects very poorly on the team and the GM for not brining in someone, who can deal with Neil and even Kassasian. Yes, shame on everybody who wants them to play tougher and protect the starplayers, young-guns I am sure Stevie Y, the perfect human were really pissed about their great bodyguards. A guy like Monahan, Bärtschi can score goals and isn't getting glasssmashed, ellbowed or whatever because almost nobody wants to answer to McGrattan.

    Zetterberg to captain the 2014 swedish olympic team?

    For PR reasons alone it will be either OV Rafulov or homecoming hero Kovalchuk although Pasha extremely deserves it.

    Retaliation

    Sadly open that's what it had come down to, being afraid of avenging the best player and one of the only two remaining stars the DetroitRedWings are having. Also what the hell is wrong with kronwall? Not even an attempt to get Cowen kronwalled. I don't care about the two points yes they've won the game but didn't revenge nor stand up for their best player, embarrassing how soft this team has become. The next time a player like MacIntyre, Scott is on waivers Kenny better takes him. Or maybe he likes seeing this soft euro styled emotionless hockey where our best players can get "glasssmashed" abused ellbowed ... Seems like forever since the DetroitRedWings stood up for each other maybe it's time for another more old school GM who doesn't call the PP an enforcer! ! ! If I'm Pasha I would be having a hard time giving my all again for a team were only Sam seems to care and try.
  22. That's physical but tough = standing up for your teammates and that's something this team has lacked for a few years now. Agree but if you can't find them I really don't see a harm in paying someone around 600 - 1kk in order to protect your players, especially with the cap rising. Sometimes it's just nice knowing that there is someone having your back especially against teams like Boston, Toronto, Buffalo, Ottawa and Montreal.
  23. That's why they need to become that sort of a team again and by all honesty they had superstars for sure but also guys like McCarty, Kocur Downey made this team incredible enjoyable to watch. Even at a time when I had to pay /minute for internet access
  24. Usually I don't either but I just hate it when the DetroitRedWings are getting "glasssmashed" ellbowed and what not and other starplayers are always always coming off lightly against us. To be honest I'm a fan of Spezza and Karlsson but just pissed with the wole situation and I also think Cowen will turn into an absolute beast in his prim.e

    Zetterberg to captain the 2014 swedish olympic team?

    Well I always thought it's going to be Zetterberg, Hedin or if he plays Alfie. Sweden has a really balanced line up, they may lack the starpower of Canada but I think their goaltending and balanced lineup could surprise even Canada.
