It's unbelievable what difference a guy like Helmer can make in the lineup. Just came home and liking what I see that's what happens when you start Larbarbera rookie coach mistake?
-
I really hope the DetroitRedWings are going in in with a more focused attitude. No victory in this league comes easy so if they underestimate the Oilers things could get downhill fast.
-
The NHL and their super Rulebook. Buffalo got fined for player selection which is also not in the rule-book. They are just a bunch of wannabes thugs so hopefully some of the real tough teams are going to go bananas against the Flyers. Maybe Orr or Mcgrattan could run emery fair is fair. Those thugs are exactly the reason why enforcers are needed otherwise they coupled with agitators are going out of control and the league will just watch.
-
So happy for him, Helmer is just a great player. Feelng bad for Franzen but the guy has not done a lot lately so maybe it is a wakeup call for him.
-
Well Abdelkader is bringing an element that's hard to replace, so I am not that surprised. Anyway, good to see them score more than two goals hopefully the DetroitRedWings can built upon that.

According to Paul HOlmgren Berube is a no BS kind of guy? The funny thing is, the Flyers also lost the fights, minus the thug who shouldn't even be in the league (made it even easier to hate the Hawks and now Flyers): Downie conussion, Lecalvalier facial injury...the only guy I am giving kudos is Brayden Schenn not a fighter but just tried to mix it up too that takes balls. I am sure Carter and Richards are nowadays extremely happy with being out of this gongshow, introduced with Holmgren and Snider. If they are stupid enough to trade Giroux, Kenny has to be all over this the guy has generational talent and is still fairly young.
-
Franzens contract is fine but if he doesn't pick it up the DetroitRedWings are going to buy him out.
-
Fair for both sides. Now the Vancouver Canucks can build around them and save for Horvat and Shinkaruk their pool isn't impressive.
-
if a team wants to make the playoffs, they'd better beat a bottom feeder especially if the opponent has injuries to the key players. Counter their speed with solid defense and these two points should be in the pack.
-
Stupid trade for the Colorado Avalanche, why mess with the chemistry?
-
Before injuries rattled him Briere was once more than just a good player, maybe not a star but close to it. If Tatar can develop into a younger Briere that would be fantastic but I doubt it.
-
Different cases and circumstances, so I stick with the former posting.
-
*sigh* could be a looooong night if the DetroitRedWings keep playing like that if Howie doesn't pick his game up soon I'd say run with the monster.
-
I would send the dead weight to the AHL = save salary and then try to make a play for Ehrhoff because it seems Buffalo is trying to get rid off every veteran left.
-
Burrows not injured but cleanly Kronwalled

Turning yourself in and getting charged with second degree kidnapping and domnestic violence is not something to take lightly. Usually when you turn yourself in most people are making sure that their lawyer is there. but whatever I'll rephrase it: if he is indeed guilty, I hope this THEN criminal idiot will never see the ice again
-
God I hate it, hockeyplayers are normally the classiest teamsport athletes but I guess some bad apples have to be there Hopefully this criminal idiot will never see the NHL ice again.
-
This is either going to be a turn around game for the DetroitRedWings or a blowout in favor of the Canucks.
-
Wow I really hate John T the coach, but off the ice he seems to be a totally different person. After watching this - warning really sad - I really hope all the Rangers and Canucks players are sending some jerseys to this guy, unbelievable what he to suffer from http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb2aXLNnpNo

The Mapleleafs need a number one center badly, Vanek Thomas.doesn't fill that need at all, especially not for that asking price. I also read somewhere that he doesn't want to play in Canada because of the scrutiny. Personally I think he is going to become a Wild or Penguin in the offseason. As with Moulson doubt he wants go waste his prime years with the rebuilding Sabres, they are going full Liners style with it.

Someone mentioned the salary cap, who's fault is it really? This league is built around the O 6 teams not NONE of them stood up against the lockout BS. The NHLPA is also to blame here, they should have just decertified and after that this DetroitRedWings edition would have been one to remember for years to come I am 100 % certain the best owner in all ofs ports would have given Kenny a blank check to ice an incredible roster, just to show the Tankuins and Suckhawks how to built a roster on the fly. BUT it's not like veterans aren't getting dealt anymore, what about Derek Roy, Jason Pominville, Douglas Murray....? These guys were available at the tdl are they elite? No, but still better than a lot of the veterans on this team.

Nice for him to admit some mistakes but in the end, he can only rank the available players given by his GM (Kenny).I am honestly starting to think Mike and Kenny aren't on the same page. Babcock wants to play a grind it out, puck-possession style while Holland seems to prefer a run and gun system. At the end of the day the players have to at least give a full effort every time they are outthere, yes mistakes are going to happen since they aren't robots but I think an honest hardworking lose is better for the moral than a lucky undeserved victory like Babock called "golden fool". I mean, he can juggle the lines around as often as he wants but at some point it is his responsibility to walk up to Holland and tell him:,,Look the current roster can't execute my gameplan give me some upgrades" and then Holland has to deliver, period. At the moment I think the DetroitRedWings struggles are a combination of a lot of things: no youthline, not enough speed, coaching + GM mistakes, lack of compete/hardwork and some bad bounces I didn't list injuries here, because every team has to deal with them so excuse here. Anyway, the year to really suck and get a BIG prize at the end of the season would be next year there's a guy named Connor McDavid :-)

The most annoying things about being at games?
frankgrimes replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
1. People that yell shooooot every time a player has the puck even if it's the goalie! Yes, that happened I thought like what are all the soccer fans doing n here? 2. Phonoholics I'm not talking about what's app no, visitors that which for whatever reason aren't going out to tell no, they sit there and answer calls AND then complain about understanding nothing! 3. Annoying public announcers telling others what to do and when I'm not a monkey when I want to cheer I will otherwise not...don't need a pa for that 4. traffic it's amazing these guys and gals can built marvelous arenas but aren't able to provide a first class parking lot -
What the? I'm an adult so I can speak for myself thanks. It's not like anything being discussed on the internet is going to influence the front-office. As a fan I want the DetroitRedWings go contend for the Stanley Cup annually and sorry but 2x second round 1x first round and another 2 round exit are not pointing into the this direction, so why bent back or add over the hill or injury prone players? I can think for myself and yes I WILL criticize that, especially when one of the reasons this team even made the playoffs is playing in the AHL..Being a fan doesn't mean I have to act like a mindless zombie or yes-man...

Sure, Calder Cup
