The prospect I am most excited about is Mike McKee we are going to need this guy sooner than later. Mantha playing in the OHL may not be the best thing but it will give him time, to round out his game getting bigger and stronger and working on same shortcomings. I am very sure the coaching stuff already has a plan and schedule for him.

Jokerit Helsinki fans displaying displeasure against their owner
frankgrimes posted a topic in General
he asked for it and deserves more of that for people not knowing about the story;a few months ago Jokerit owner Hjallis decided to sell the club to two Russian investors, after they have bought the arena and now the club will be moved to the KHL after this season. Jokerit supporters are against this and finally made their presence felt. Thef****** owner reacted by threatening them to not enter the arena again, because he feels like the fans have violated him. .Moving the DetroitRedWings from the NHL to the KHL would be good example of why this is such a big deal for the hardcore and loyal supporters. Personally I hope the fans keep it going and turn it up another notch.Moving the DetroitRedWings from the NHL to the KHL would be good example of why this is such a big deal for the hardcore and loyal supporters. Video of displeasure Go Jokerit f*** you Hjallis -
Well the Penguins are having the most feared and toughest tough guy in the AHL known as Steve Macintyre. I just can't for the sake of me understand, why Bylsma refused to play him against the toughest team in the league? Especially after being down two games to none and getting physicaly dominated and on top of that they didn't play Engelland that much , so it's hard for me to understand what Shero and Bylsma were thinking. I think if they would have called up Macintyre and just by having him on the bench, the physical edge in that series could have turned easily to the Penguins. Pittsburgh is easy to play against , once the other team is in their heads. they can be easily frustrated especially their captain as seen against the Islanders. This team is incredible skilled upfront but their defense lacks structure and a commitment to play defensivly responsible. The Bruins are in no way shape or form comparable to the Blackhawks, this team is very tough, skilled and has elite goaltending. The Blackhawks are a high powered offensive juggernaut but despite Bickell they aren't tough at all. Once the DetroitRedWings are hitting the ice against the Bruins and Thornton, Lucic and McQuaid are unleashed people will see the difference between the two teams and won't be pretty at all. I still think the DetroitRedWings should trade for Anthony Peluso from the Jets, guy is 240 lbs big and tough as nails plus he can take a regular shift! Ottawa looked gased against the Penguins which wasn't a surprise to me, they have battled hard to make the playoffs despite all their major injuries.

Seriously as much as I am a fan of the DetroitRedWings, my well being and priorities in life aren't built around this team or hockey and I really love[d] the sport. Cleary is a fine athlete and a fierce competitor. We all know the money should have been spent more wisely but nobody here can do anything about that now. On a purely personal level I just don't understand, why Holland needed to put this team over the cap by signing Alfredsson in full knowledge that he wanted Clears back badly. let's just hope there is still enough place for the young players even if it means shipping out some veterans

NHL will not review high-sticking calls this season
frankgrimes replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
I for one don't want them to review it, because it makes the game less individual and more computer driven keep it more oldschool please B-) -
Peitrangelo signs 7 year contract extension with Blues
frankgrimes replied to Jaymister's topic in General
Thisnis going go be a steal in 2 years tops -
They are elite point producers, so the Sedins don't need to play like defenders their job is to score assist and not to prevent others from scoring.
-
If I were him I'd sign a bridge contract he will not get anything better than that.
-
Rookie you're most looking forward to watching this season
frankgrimes replied to Jaymister's topic in General
Well Tatar was nice knowing you sadly, you will be traded soohn good luck wherever you are going to end up -
If the top SEL clubs are smart, they are going to make a play for them can you imagine both of them playing for Färjestads or Lulea...this team would be unstoppable.

Torts on Twitter: "most narcissistic thing I have ever seen"

Man running 2 miles in under 12 minutes is a huge task even for hockeyplayers, little bit surprised Kesler and Bieksa couldn't do it these two are extremely ripped.. -
signed Wings sign Alfredsson to 1-year, $3.5m deal (+$2m bonuses)

Since Tapatalk 4.26 is slow as hell I am going to post it through my notebook: Why not wear 111 and be done with it? I will always remember Alfie as 11 -
Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff makes it official: He's retiring.
frankgrimes replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
The thing is, the guy has a family and he didn't want to move them especially not to a place with a ton of scrutiny going on (i.e. Toronto). Some people would be raging about him no matter what (quitter for not sticking through the rebuild or not allowing the Flames to trade him..not signing an extension...whatever) players are humans too and they have a damn right to take a family first approach. -
Focusing on things like faith, friendship and family is never a bad thing. The guy is already extremely rich has won everything and took a year off Rask would have taken over at some point, so I really don't blame him. I mean look at the Flames who is their number 1 goalie now? They could really need a guy like Timmay or even the "Perds" if Rinne isn't healthy anytime soon.

Signed Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal
frankgrimes replied to wingedominance13's topic in General
Please forgive me for having my opinion, although I am not a GM so shame on me. Holland has made more mistakes than usual during the past years (every GM does they're humans after all) but this team is already over the cap. I don't need to be a GM in order to figure out, that they have to trim the roster if that means one of Tatar, Nyquist, Kindl or Dekeyser has to be sent down or traded I will be pissed off and guess I have every right to be pissed off. This is NOT a Stanley Cup pushing roster so why not see what the young guns can do and off-load the vets? I love the dedication and heart Cleary brings, he took a great paycut but seriously this team couldn't afford to go even more over the cap because it means more trouble in teerms of roster-space. Again, I don't need to be a GM in order to know such simple mathematic things. Ok the DetroitRedWings wanted Cleary back badly, why go out and sign an over the hill Alfie then? When a guy like Bobby Ryan was available for spare parts? Holland used to be not only the best but also the GM who got the players he wanted, when he wanted them I am just questioning whatever happened to the Wings want a player, they have a 90 % chance to get him? Now they have to sign either over the hill players or play the youth combined with not having enough room because of incredible vet-loyality. -

Signed Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal
frankgrimes replied to wingedominance13's topic in General
Well what I am now going to type now is nothing against Cleary but seriously I am starting to wonder if Holland is showing to much loyality here? Guess the team was to young for Holland last season? Re-signing Bertuzzi was bad, signing Samuelson was stupid not going after an enforcer and bringing back Cleary is ridiculous. Maybe it is really time for Kenny to become VP and give the job to someone else? I am really starting to think, the overaching of last season has not been a good thing. Maybe the front office really believes thr team was close when in fact they just played beyond their overall talent level. Why is it so tough to make room for the young guys? Damnit -
Report: Cleary to sign with PHI, 3 yrs, $2.75m/yr, NTC
frankgrimes replied to Jedi's topic in General
Sometimes understanding the plan is really hard, DetroitRedWings need to get younger fine, the rookies impressed last season also fine...offseason iscoming and we sign a 41 old Alfredsson and think about re-signing Dan clearly I don't get. This roster needs to have a place for Tatar, Nyquist, Kindl and Dekeyser. -
The guy would be a perfect fit for Nashville or New Jersey, both are desperate for offense and youth he provides both. Hard for me to understand why they haven't signed him yet.
-
White is still servicable so I hope he makes it. I like that Winnipeg is giving him a chance, he is from Winnipeg also and their defense needs a lot of help, so good for both of them.

Flames hire Brian Burke as president of hockey operations.
frankgrimes replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
Well, Nonis was the one responsible for the Phaneuf trade also Nonis is the guy, who didn't want to offer that much for Kessel. Also according to what I've read Nonis wanted Eakins and waived Connolly, bought up Komasarek so I think he has done a lot of the behind the scenes stuff. Sure, Burke may have had the idea and built some things but I wouldn't forget Nonis and his Co. GMs. Looking at the league the best GMs are the lowkey ones, Holland, Chiarelli, Shero, Poile, Lombardi and Lamoriello. Burke would be a much better GM if his focus would be on the job and keeping the cards to hmself instead of telling everybody what his plan is and then having to finde excuses if something doesn't work out. Also a huge point for the Leafs making the playoffs was the shortened season and less media distraction. -
I think most people want him back badly but at this point I just hope he can enjoy his life painfree first and then think about hockey again. This just goes to show you how short or injury delayed a players career can be .(

Total non story if someone is low-ballwing and disrespecting the best player on a stacked team like this, offer sheet him. If I were Pietrangelo I'd tell Armstrong to go f...himself and that I'll sign an offer-sheet he shouldn't even think about matching it, because it would call my agent to tell in clear words that I want out.

Sedins may be one dimensional but who cares? Their job is to score goals not to defend them otherwise they would be..well defenders. The chemistry these two have on the ice is unreal, Sedins don't even have to look at each other and still know exactly where the other one will be, my reommendation would be enjoy the magic as long as it lasts.
