Best of luck for him, there way more important things than hockey. Try to get a major, recover and enjoy your life all the best, sad news indeed.
-
Nothing wrong with that, it shows he is a fierce competitor and wants to proof himself in the NHL. Helping New Jersey out is not an easy task, so they'll need a guy like him. Good luck
-
Yeah and that's not a problem, I still think the pairing Dekeyser - Smith is going to a good one in the future and I am looking forwar to see them in action. Ericsson and Kronner have to do a bit of mentoring here but they've learned from an alltime top 3 defender so shouldn't be too hard.
-
Good luck in the KHL it will be a huge culture shock for him, so hopefully he can make enough money there and go to one of the nicer leagues in europe after that (Sweden or Switzerland).
-
I am in the same boat, the defense hasn't been fixed (wasn't possible because nobody was available) plus a new division so I think expecting to compete for a playoffspot is really realistic, everything beyond that would be just a huge bonus.
-
Problems with the capslock? I hope he scores a lot of goals, wherever he ends up just not against the DRW
-
I would have a hard time naming 60 defensemen to be honest, I don't follow all the teams but here is a list of guys that are for sure better: Chara, Letang, Weber, Suter, Keith, Seabrook, Pietrangelo, Phaneuf, Karlson, Staal, Doughty, Shattenkirk (younger + cheaper) the expectations for a number 1 defenseman are obviously high and this already excludes franchise guys like Lidström (hope his son will fill in for him).
-
Damien joining the Devils, now add Satan please would be hilarious.
-
Kronner is what he is, an excellent second pairing defenseman but without a franchise defender not a top pairing guy. This is nothing against him, it is just the truth and I really hope he will return to his more kronwalling instead of trying to run the powerplay, I think the shutdown role is better suited for him.

Loving this, these guys are competing for a job in the near future so for sure they want to show everything they have at this level/sage in their career. Nice to read about a fight between two players, but this was a situation, which Jenssen couldn't win at all: either he beats mini Bertuzzi = > possibility of his uncle coming on the ice and taking care of business or losing against mini Bertuzzi and avoid his uncle -->better option. I really don't like it, when players are having such advantages. Not surprised at how Babcock talked about them, they are for now just that prospects getting drafted is just one step and not the whole way. I think he has a very realistic view on this whole thing, only 6 out of 10 are having a chance to make it and even less will become regular NHL players - thats the sad truth of trying to step into the best league worldwide, it is incredible hard to accomplish.

A canadian portal had an article on that and basically it happened like this: Alfredsson agent: we are fine with going on a 1 year basis, but we want around 6 mill Murray: thats not a fair number Alfredsson + agent: sure felt insulted and pissed I mean this guy has given the Senators lot's of years on a hometown discount -->relationship went sore -->he looked for other options ... as this became clear ... Murray realized his mistake but at that point is way too late. It it was really cup or bust for Alfredsson he would have signed with Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh or Los Angeles.

I don't believe his camp is asking for 4 m per over 4 years, he just hasn't proven enough for that kind of money, period. At some point his agent has to look at the reality and that's at the very best 3,5 per for 2 years also called a "prove it" contract. Whatever happens, I wish him well.
-
Giroux gave them no hometown-discount ( I wouldn't either), but Bergy basically gave Boston around 500k - 1kk that's a lot of cash on an annual basis, they pretty much got him for 8 million less if not more, the guy is pure class. I am sure the Canadiens aren't too happy with that.
-
No offense, opinions are different but I will be one happy camper if this team is proofing me wrong. Like others have mentioned, there are so many variables it is really hard to predict and I rather go in with low expectations (like this year), and become surprised instead of going in with tooo high expectations and end up disappointed. As for u = you, not using them makes it just easier to read at least from my point of view. I know some people, who are are using "r" (are) and all that stuff and basically reading their messages has become almost useless. btw. I think the Senators are going to play with a chip on their shoulder, they want to show Alfredsson how wrong his decision was, Ryan wants to stick it to the Ducks and they are looking forward to a 100 % Karlson, Andersson and Spezza this team is going to be dangerous, that's for sure. Pittsburgh as always will be a regular season powerhouse, no doubt playoffs as always are a different story :-)

There is a guy named Cory Schneider. I've created this list before the Kovalgate saga, so next time read the posting-date, thanks. ps: it is you not U

Bergeron is the man, tough as nails great two way player, the only thing I don't agree with is giving this crappy owner such a huge discount, he would have easily gotten 7 - 7.5 on the open market. Bergy is going to be the next captain of the Bruins. but man leaving 500k - 1kk on the table per year is a huge hometown-discount, undeserved when you are working for one of the worst owners in the NHL. Bruins future is pretty much set right now, strong top 6, elite goaltending and the human giant Chara on the backend - this team is going to be a contender for years
-
Kovy is the man I don't think it will give Lou any ideas, he doesn't have the KHL as a threat like Kovy did.
-
Agreed he made it clear, where his heart was he just should have told Lou and stayed there, so at least the Devils would have saved money to sign some free agents.
-
Clarkson made it clear, that his heart was in Toronto so the Devils had no chance of re-signing him.

I don't know what t4 means, but if it were a riddle I'd guess t = time = 4 days? So they are going to announce it on monday?`

Devin Setoguchi Traded to Winnipeg for 2nd round 2014 pick
frankgrimes replied to Danielsm's topic in General
Isn't Gucci a female cloth designer? Anyway I think the Jets lack identity and their GM/coach just don't seem to have a real plan. Are they a tough, skilled, defensive first or run and gun team? Nobody I guess not even Chewelldayoff knows. I am really hypp they are back but at some point fans will want to see improvements and I am not sure Setogouchi is that. -
All sides are to blame here not just Kovalchuk, the guy can make more in his home country and wants to be where his heart is. The NHL is pretty much getting a guaranteed lockout every X years, everytime the players are asked to give back and getting their contract rules more and more reduced. So I am not really surprised that some players are saying enough with that, I can play in front of friends, family and make more money - so screw you guys I am going to SKA Petersburgh The players haven't forgotten the lockout and it shows, more and more Europeans will start going home after making a killing in the NHL employes a certain guy much longer, book it. On the other hand this is just terrible terrible News for the New Jersey Devils, they've lost Zach Parise (for nothing), Clarkson (for nothing), a first round pick a Co-owner and now a sniper. Financially it might help them in the long term but shortterm this is just terrible, they might be looking at a top 5 pick if they don't do something drastically. Someone already mentioned, they are going to sign Grabovski no way in hell, you don't go from a lost Russian to another Russian with a questionable attitude who hit a girl for Christs sake he should be in prison, not on the ice.
-
Haha at the Blues, first signing Roy for 5 mil and then they trade away Perron, part of their core. I am sure this will sit well with guys like Backes, Pietrangelo, Berglund, Oshie. MPS has all the potential in the world but at some point he has to use it and show it, if he can do that its a fair deal if not Armstrong got robbed badly here. Hitchcock getting tuned out? Shocking the guy is too hard on his players and this stuff gets old fast especially with a younger core. I am still hoping they can't re-sign Pietrangelo so he hits the open market thanks to that damn fool Holmgren Wings can't constructure a similar offer-sheet anymore
-
He did, he even laid his health on the line for the finals, but some prefer super soft smallish guys who back down to each their own I guess.

Bowman is extremely smart Crawford will not even get close that, he had one good year and a very bad one
