Luongo really has handled this professionally and with a lot of class Gillis on the other hand comes off like a compete idiot. It's really amazing, how this guy can still have a job after that fiasco. Luongo has put up his house for sale and I highly doubt, that he is thrilled right now. Gillis only has himself to blame for this. As for Thomas when he is on his game, he is as dominant as a goaltender can be I also love the fact, that he doesn't give a crap about being mainstream (= political playball) for a bunch of idiots. The thing I fail to understand is this: Why don't they just sponsor their own Russian teams? Are all Russian teams in the KHL that rich that they don't need any help from very very wealthy investors? If I were Russian born and they'd rather spend money on foreign clubs than our own I'd be very pissed. The KHL is also known for their goonclub Chekov, so Jokerit now needs to sign some tough guys for the first time ever, because otherwise they are going to get beaten up badly. As for Austrian and Italian clubs joining I highly doubt that, they just don't have the money like most european clubs in order to compete in the KHL in terms of salary, player rights and of course don't forget the enormous travel. Like I said nothing against the KHL a but I think the league and the rest of europe would be better off with not joining the KHL.

Judging drafts is always hard, because they are such a gamble and can't be judged till some years have passed so: + getting a second rounder for moving down 2 picks and still getting Mantha just superb + second draft in a row the Wings have gone for size + keeping the first overall pick - Fils rights still not traded

They've lost confidence in him and he also stated ealrier this week he would not report to the camp this time around. So Gillis has only himself to blame for this mess. Luongo is a great goaltender for sure but I think he wants to move on and I don't blame him for that.

Sure it will rise again which is obviously a very good thing but having 7 players making up 75 % jof the cap is a hard pill to swallow unless the cap is reaching something like 80 million soon, they are not going to add much depth with that kind of money tied up on 7 players.

Why are people so sure Columbus will do something amazing? I am happy for them but keep in mind this Kekkailinen guy doesn't know much about NA talents and Davidson is not going to run their draft. I am sure they will do fine but it may be to early for their new GM to do something amazing like moving into the top 10. I really hope the Wings are going after to draft Gauthier or Bo Horvat just not sold on that Domi guy.
