Personally I would have voted for Murray but what do I know, since the league has to play cocksucker for the Pens ...
-
Wow 7 players making 75 % of the cap, how the hell are they planning to sign a Winger for Sidney now? The two Pensylvania teams just never fail to amaze, I am so stocked to see what the next Flyers move will be? Smith from the Bluejackets as number 1 goaltender maybe? Funny times ahead of us all.

This is NOT about the budget and like mentioned most european fans are fine with being feeders to the NHL (bar none the best league in the world). Fans want simple things, history, home grown talent and some hatred in their rivalries the KHL provides none of them, heck I would even go as far and question their longtime future. Maybe the KHL is the second best league in the world in the end if terms of life-quality, safety and reputation it is nowhere near as closes as the longtime established leagues in Finnland, Sweden and Switzerland. This is not a knock against the KHL its just the reality and the KHL is and will always be seen as mostly Russian and former UDSSR type of league.

Tyler Seguin available? what would do cost be
frankgrimes replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Keep in mind Rask is looking at a minimal of 7 million per year, then they have to re-sign Horton too so thats about 12 - 13 million for two players against the cap. If I were PC I'd try to shop Seguin + first for Pietrangelo. Read somewhere that Pietrangelo wants 7 million per year and the Blues don't want to pay him that (= lowballing) that guy. -
From Sweden and Finnland the two clubs I always appreciated (no matter the standings) are Faerjestads, Djurgardens and Turku, Jokerit from Finnland. I think it points to a very bad future for the sport itself, if you can just buy a club and re-create it in another league. The owner of Jokerit should be ashamed of himself I hope fans are giving it to him, once the new starts.

Mike Smith re-signs with PHX. 6 yrs @ $5.6 mill year w/ NTC

Mike Smith at 5,7 per? WoW I must s ay, I am starting to like Howards deal more and more now prices are getting into a ridiculous area. -
Looked at MacKenzies list and this could very well be Bo Horvat, 6,0 206 lbs a center. Bob has him at 13 so I guess thats very reasonable other than that the mentioned Gauthier? Wow at Fucale @ 19 that guy has to be a very promising goaltender prospect.

Just did a bit of internet searching and the reactions are just like mine would have been, if some shaddy russians would have bought my club and sent them to a league, nobody cares about: 1. Fan clubs of Jokerit are already singing the goodbye Jokerit song --> they are going to stop supporting the team --->atmosphere will be very businesslike and thats not what european fanculture is about 2. Fan's are feeling robbed - understandable 3. even hardcore fans are looking for another team to fell in love with. Man I really feel sorry for them it's must be like losing one of your best friends What the KHL and their shaddy owners aren't getting is the fact, that most european fans are perfectly fine with being "feeders" to the NHL, other than that we are happy with our national leagues, our historic rivalries and seeing young homegrown talent develop into "stars" and possible someday NHL players. I love hockey and follow other leagues too but I couldn't even name an active KHL player right now - oh well one Mirasty John - it really sucks, that the oil driven shaddy money is now pouring its dirty eye into hockey too. I feel really sorry for the fans of Jokerit. Also a big FU to the owners, shame on you for selling out tradition in order to become another plastic club in a baby-league nobody - other than of course Russians a- cares about. I hope the attention is dropping to 3 digits and the atmosphere to suck hard. The KHL has failed with their unrealistic expectation s and now they are trying to use their shaddy tatics in order to force other clubs into this joke of a league. Here are some news for you russian billionaires nobody cares, leave our national leagues alone thanks. btw. the CEO (GM) of another famous finnish hockey club TPS Tuurku has already been quoted saying, that they are neveer going to join the KHL or sell themselves to russian billionaires. # must be nice seeing finnish star players and young guys getting beaten up for no real reason against Chekov or however that goon club is spelled...

I am sure the Bruins would expect a Kings risesome return for him. Shocked that Horton wants to move on, get him please :-) -
I don't want him at that pricetag either but you have to wonder if its Pittsburgh run and gun style making him look bad OR is he really that bad in terms of defensive responsibility? If its the latter then this guy has no business asking for 8 m per, thats Suter money and he is not as good as him. Pietrangelo and his agent must be in heaven right now, Streit getting over 5million per, Gonchar the same one and now Letang is asking for 8 annually hopefully he prices himself out of the Blues market :-)
-
I really don't want to admit it and absolutely hate what I am going to type now, but this gesture is pure class, sad but true. Crawford on the other hand, never liked the guy he will end up like Mike Smith a one year wonder and an arrogant full of himself millionaire.
-
Agreed Jokerit may very well be one of the most known european clubs. They have a huge tradition, a fantastique fanbase. Why the hell should they be interested in playing against teams for another country, in a very questionable league? Don't let the russians buy them!
-
Well the question to me is, what are the Pens looking for? If they let him go, another defender needs to come back. But with him turning down 56 over 7 years all things are pointing to an 8 per + contract for Letang, which would make him the highest paid player on the Wings.
-
Holland here is your chance, bring in Letang and pair him with a shutdown guy. I know he is not Weber, Suter, Chara, Pietrangelo or Karlsson but Letang is elite, I'd love him in red and white.
-
He should learn how to deal with his players and don't handle them like idiots, babies. Media should be at best his second guess.
-
If the Bruins are smart, they re-sign both of them and let Jagr, Ference..walk. Rask is one of the coming elite goalies, Horton is just a beast. That said, I'd rather have Clarkson at 4,5 than Horton at 5,5.
-
Not true at all. The Wings are heading into a conference with: Colton Orr, John Scott, Shawn Thornton, Milan Lucic, Frazer McLaren, Brandon Prust, Deryk Engelland, Steve MacIntyre add to that the Rangers coming tough guy in Dylan McIllrath. So a guy like McKee can't come up soon enough but whenever he is going to be ready, him and Bordaleau are going to dominate the West and Eastern conference.

2013 Stanley Cup Finals - Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Just shows you how stupid some of their fans and the media are.Looks like the Leafs want to be in every discussion 24/7 the Toronto Sun is just crap can't wait for their new "trade Kessel" article, because he is shy *lol* with that said, I think the Conn Smythe should have gone to either Seabrook or Keith. Their top pairing locked up insane minutes and contributed in evey way. This voting just shows you, how important the NHL trophies these days are, especially the Norris and the Conn Smythe. They aren't given out to the best players at their positions anymore, just to the guys with the most points.. -
Lundquist, Miller, Rask, Rinne, Thomas (if he plays again), Quick, Ward, Andersson are all clearly bettere I think he is around 12 - 15 which is average - good but not elite.
-
Is that something like an unwritten rule? Personally I think it is just stupid. Leagues shouldn't even need a commissioner.

2013 Stanley Cup Finals - Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I think putting that kind of pressure on a young, developing team heading into their first full season is asking for disappointment. I hope they make the playoffs everything else would be just a big + like this season. Keep in mind the Hawks have to shed a lot of salary again, just like they did in 2010. -
2013 Stanley Cup Finals - Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I think even the Bruins don't know what happened. They had the Hawks against the wall and just needed to finish the job but for whatever reason they fell apart a bit. Although I hate to admit it, but the Kane Toews Bickel line might as well the best line in hockey right now, excellent playmaking, clutch scoring and size **** after the Hawks reuinited them, Chara looked absolutely overmatched and was on the ice for 9 of 12 Hawks goals. I also thought Crawford outplayed Rask, which just shows you how good Thomas is and that Rask has a long way to go in order to be mentioned in the same sentence as him. -
Whatever to me Wings sucked before our run - in a thread called "Hawks new model franchise" implies 2 possibilities: 1. poster is in some sort part of the Wings organization hence the "our" 2. poster might be a Blackhawks fan that why I 've asked politely... It's true the Wings sucked beofre *their* run but at least they didn't tank on purpose like the Penguins or Blackhawks did.
