If Larkin forces his way to the team , what will we look like?
frankgrimes replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
no, what I'm trying to say is that the pre season is a chance for young players to impress against mostly other peers and veterans that aren't going full speed. I like most think Larkin has done that, yes I want him to bulk up signs be around 210 when he comes up. but more importantly would be developing chemistry with Mantha. -

It was more a basic example of how overrated the pre season and therefore the performance of these young kids is. Larkin is just an example. The most important thing is that he seems to be on the right development track. I'd say let him go to the AHL dominate there with Mantha and be the first call up. -

Wow talk about overhyping a player again, 0 in words zero NHL games and some are already having him in the top 6. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Larkin but he is playing PRE season hockey. Guys like Crosby know they're on the team no need to go full speed just yet, the pre season is a change for the young guys to try their best and impress the coach. there is a reason why a lot of impressive young players aren't looking so impressive when he real season starts and some are getting send down quickly. there is no need to rush the kid let him develop and see were it goes would rather have him in Grand Rapids building a top line with Mantha and come up next year. This isn't a cup contender anyways so no need to rush the kid. -
Just great. Pre-season games are so meaningless and now one of our best players is already hurt. I would rather lose 2:7 against the Penguins than having Danny D. out for a longer period of time *gaarrrr*

yeah a friend of mine asked me about a draft kings offer he does play hockey manager pro or whatever it is called, told him to stick with it and not get into the fantasy scam.I am always fascinated by the term esport why I'm sure those players are very good at what they do it's hard to justify it as a physical activity. But yeah would make sense that sites like draft kings are getting involved.. -

Chicago re-signs Seabrook; 8 years, $6.875 AAV
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
If they win another cup that would be 4 cups in the Toews, Kane, Seabrook and Keith era so I doubt they are worrying too much about it yet. -

Well Shaw and Teravainen aren't old in fact they are young and as long as their core is still in their prime, they'll sadly will be an annual contender. -

This is a great deal for one of the top defenders in the game: Seabrook has to be one of the most underrated defenders in the game, he may not be flashy but he does everything so damn well and allows Keith to take some risks. So all in all a pretty good deal for the Hawks, he would have easily gotten something like 8x8 on the open market. I would say it's something like Weber, Suter, Doughty, Keith, Seabrook, Pietrangelo, Hedman -
It's not just Slovakia it's also Switzerland. I mean after the KHL, SEL this is the 3rd best league in Europe so probably the fourth best league worldwide and they aren't invited what gives? I mean do they really not want to showcase guys like Hiller, Tatar, Sbisa..? Team Europe and Team under 23 is such an embarassment I'm sure Eichel and McDavid would love playing for their own country instead of a continent the same thing might be true for team Europe. It's clear that not every country can have their own team but seriously no Switzerland, Slovakia ? That's just stupid. Also the decision to hire John Tortarella doesn't exactly scream enjoyment, I'd rather train 3 times a day than spending a week being coached by someone who's biggest assets are screaming at his players and not being able to control his temper tantrums. Here is a list of the top countries: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IIHF_World_Ranking So #7 and #8 are not there *lol*

9/22 Exhibition GDT : @ Chicago Blackhawks 5, Red Wings 4 (OT)
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
well said can't wait for the season and so real hockey news to start again. -
which pride? if it's not my country there is no pride and therefore no reason to take part in something like that.
-
Now I hope Hartley coaches team Canada and send out his fourth line. In all seriousness it's such a joke wouldn't surprise me if more players are opting out of that crap now. how can this be about national pride when 2 teams aren't even a country. I'm more than sure McDavid and Eichel rather play for their country than an under 23 team. The Olympics are about national pride as are the world championships but this thing is about nothing other than a huge cash crab.

to be fair Snow isn't known for being respectful either...this gm cant get his opinion across without swearing, it's pathetic. This also the same guy who took Nabakov away from us.Handing out #66 is just a new low. who in his right mind would even attempt to wear it? what's next 99? this is disrespectful to Lemieux unbelievable

Verrier has broken leg; Helm possible concussion
frankgrimes replied to Wings_Dynasty's topic in General
it's too bad Helm has so much talent, works as hard as everyone and just can't catch a break I feel for the guy. As far as Verrier hopefully it heals quickly and he can have a strong season down there -
One thing is obvious from this thread, the new expected go to guys seem to be Nyquist and Tatar. Both are a year older but even if I'm predicting 25+ goals for each of them I really hope the added pressure and responsibility won't be too much for them to handle. I mean if both score around 25 I'd still be happy, but with Pasha and Z aging they are the most likely to pick up their decreased point production while Mantha and Larkin are improving with the Rapids.

Nyquist (31) Tatar (28) Darayuk (24) playing around 70 games Abdelkader (21) Outside chances: Z and Richards
-
Good for him if they plan to shelter his minutes he should be a servicable defenseman for the Isles.
-
Just think about it: the next logical step after the draft for the quest to possible make millions of §, fly private first class, play on a line with Tavares, get the best doctors, personal trainers in the world, first class hotels and hookup with some hot chicks. These guys are so blessed it's unbelievable and yet this moron thinks his hollier than you attitude would fly in the NHL. I'm sure one of the other prospects is going to look at this as a huge chance for himself.
-
Islanders blew a first rounder on this idiot simple as that. I mean having the chance to play with Tavares and Lee on the top line even if it's just camp would have me being there as soon as possible, walking around the arena and be pumped up just to get this opportunity.
-
can't believe the Isles picked this guy. This kid screams trouble he called out GMs for not interviewing him, other players and team Canada. most people would arrive an hour early on the first day of TC because they should be pumped and ready to go. Hopefully this kid never makes it creates problems and unneeded attention wherever he goes.
-
Forget it mixed up Panik and Vinnik. just like in Toronto this will be a clean slate chance for everyone but I'm very sure guys like Pulkinnen, Jurco won't be wings next fall of they don't step up their game simple as that.
-
I know that and for a cast off he has developed very well. Jurco may use more potential but he has yet to put it. Panik will give you an honest effort every shift although the Penguins overpaid tremendously for him with a first rounder.
