State your unpopular opinion *Mod Warning Post #'s 200 & 219*

to the Microsoft guys: Apps != programs ...apps are smaller, less capable software designed for less powerful "mobile" computers like tablets, smartphones... so please correct that confusion when releasing the Windows 10 version, thanks -
A team that's tough to play against, working their butts off each and every shift and doesn't get intimidated by anybody. oh and patience with Blashill if he becomes the next coach.

Players who might be available due to teams cap issues
frankgrimes replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
It may be an opinion but it's also based on facts. Gretzky got moved for a lot more than just players... -
Because he came back from a bad injury and couldn't regain his pre-injury form in time ?

Players who might be available due to teams cap issues

If Stamkos is asking for 10,5 that's much less than I've expected him to ask I'd be asking for 8 x 12,5. Only Crosby is better than him, Toews could be argued but other than that the guy for sure is in the top 3 . Tampa is going to re-sign him, that's not even a discussion. Stamkos also adds a lot of merchandise $ to the team. -
To answer the question: No, Howard is the number 1

Well the Russian percentage of NHL players is already very low...So if this happens it will be lower not a huge loss anyway. The Radulovs and other showboaters can stay in the khl it's a plastic league without tradition anyways..

Stamkos will be re-signed so will Kopitar and Seabrook he is part of Chicago's core. They'll move heaven and earth before him -

The Seabrook dream will be over before it even started. Hossa, Sharp and Hjalmarson will be traded before the hawks even consider moving Seabrook. Even if he would be available the Wings don't have the assets to get it done. Also I really don't believe Kenny has the guts to pull of something of that magnitude Phaneuf will be a more realistic option in my mind. -

Same here but also if the Wings are going - and it looks like it - to hire him it will be interesting. According to some it should be easy to replace Babcock and I can't wait to see it unfold personally I think it will be as easy as replacing Godström or to a lesser degree Marian Hossa. -

Quak Quak Hawks :-) -
If the oilers fire Buchberger should we bring him in if Granato follows Babs?
-
I'm happy for him and he basically confirmed what everyone knew oilers are going to pick McDavid . Man that franchise is the huge winner this year. So happy for Todd I think he is a great guy and will do very well there

Coaching Search Thread a.k.a. the Jeff Blashill Thread

The good thing is those that honestly believed Babcock was the problem will now have their wish and sadly the next coach has to fill some big boots. Blashill will have to learn the in and outs of the NHL first and then implement his system which for sure will take time and if this roster isn't better than the last one well by that time the playoffs might be out of reach already. I don't understand the disrespect for Hitchcock has he done much with a stacked roster in St. Louis ? No, but he got them from one of the worst teams to one of the best teams in the entire NHL. I really hope the Wings are doing their due diligence and at least interview a few guys and be it just to get a vipe on how others are viewing this organization and how they are thinking about the status quo. Hiring Blashill without even hearing other hockeyminds would be stupid. -

Maybe this is also about respect and note of a say in player personal ? But man picking the Leafs over buffalo ? I don't understand it Pegula is loaded like really loaded and they'll add Jack Eichel soon . -
Babcock granted permission to talk to other teams

Well his decision is understandable, insulting offers, an aging team and he doesn't want to be the coach known for ending the streak and given Holland's reluctance to trade prospects and penny pinch ufas Babs job got harder and harder every year. The amount of talent this team is losing not only on but also off ice is simply stunning. Guess it's nice that Holland got his extension for doing nothing since the last scf -
Question for the Board regarding Babcock
frankgrimes replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Seems like the Wings decided to go cheap although their is no cap for coaches lol -

Babcock granted permission to talk to other teams
frankgrimes replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Guys it's the Star reporting it so I wouldn't call them a reliable source. As long as it doesn't come from Lebrun, MacKenz or Dreger. If they are really going the 1 year root that means both Holland, Babcock and the ownership want to see where this team is and then decide wheter it's time to rebuild or not. I just hope they don't lose Blashill this year if they do, the Wings better have a plan B because if Tippet,, Hitchcock and Julien become available they'll be signed after minutes. -

These guys have tax experts for that and the difference between 3.5 and 5 is a lot of money -

If the Wings offer was equally as good sure then there's nothing they could have done but if the Wings got outbid by Buffalo that's not Wings style usually the Wings are outbidding everyone . As I've mentioned the Sabres are a team on the rise and they'll add a young phenom in Eichel soon. So if Babs decides to coach them watch out. Blues well that's one Heck of a well built team -

Wings losing someone because of money and future expectations..glad Holland got a 4 year extension Seems like Chris Ilitch is more interested in the bottom line instead of icing the best of the best. I think if Mr. I doesn't step in Babs is gone.
