    Oilers win the Draft Lottery

You can't trade all veterans and have a bunch of very early 20s, 18 boys on your club veteran experience is needed to show them the way (nutrition, how to deal with the media, how to prepare ...). Even with McDavid they Oilers aren't going to be immediate contenders this year all it does is giving them tons of options for the future and I'm sure now they aren't building for the playoffs, this team will be built for the great price.

WCQF : (4) Nashville Predators vs. (5) Chicago Ham Hocks

Jones needs to stop that stupid no look passes and cover his angles better. Rinne, well he nees to be the Rinne we all know he can be in the third and not get outplayed by Chicago's backup ! Man does Nashville miss Weber and Fishe hopefully they are back soon enough would be of tremendous importance. It's only two goals go Nashville go

Yakupov was a mistake yeah but Hall ? I don't think so it's not his fault the defense there is horrible and more often than not the guy has to carry this team (as a winger nonetheless). Just looked at HF boards man the amount of hate is unbelievable I'm also not happy with that but Edmonton won it fair and square. I think they'll package Draisaitl or Hopkins + Yakupov to bring in a top 4 guy and sign Anderson from Ottawa in the summer. Not a huge fan of Niemi what has he done despite winning the cup on a ridiuclous stacked Blackhawks roster ? Also this is a guy who's had Vlasic running the D and he still didn't get the job done. The Oilers would be better signing Reimer or Jonathan Bernier in my mind.

    Oilers win the Draft Lottery

Same here :-) Honestly there is no chance 0 ! that any GM would want to be the guy that traded Connor McDavid but the pressure will be imense. Toronto would have been bad in terms of scrutiny and media pressure but in Edmonton you've had another phenom playing (#99) and I really hope for his sake that he doesn't get constantly compared to that player, it would be so unfair and putting even more pressure on him. Also hockey is a team game so there is still a chance that the management screws that up. Man I'm freaking jeleaus of all that young talent at least the Oilers should be competing for a playoff spot instead of bottom 5 finishes each and every year. What this does: it opens up a tremendous amount of possibilities and sadly even Babcock now: who wouldn't want to coach that young superstar alongside Hall, Hopkins, Draisatil, Nurse ?

ECQF : (7) Sénateurs d'Ottawa vs. (2) Les Canadiens de Montréal

Two possible outcomes today: 1. Sens win - we have a series again 2. The lose it's sadly over for them and I hope at point they make sure that the Habs have to "replace" some players for the next round.

Bob as always is spot on McDavid is a professionell he won't say it publically but like I said I would not blame him for pulling a Lindros. But man Hall - McDavid - Eberle that's a damn scary line for years to come. as far as getting McDavid to Detroit forget about it: some serious gutting of the team would be needed we're talking about: firsts, Larkin, Mantha, Danny D. +++ it's not going to happen. Also the Edmonton Oilers - assuming he pulls a Lindros - won't get Kessel and Phaneuf because both have a NMC and I'm sure the Oilers are on that list. All the Oilers now need to do is bring in some top 4 defenseman with size to guide Klefblom and Nurse and a proven Number 1 goaltender. If they do that we're looking at a sleeping giant in the West, granted Lowe and his palls could still screw this up. My personal stance: The draft is a damn joke, these are young adults let them decide and si gn wherever they want to instead of forcing them to go to team X because some lottery balls decided that's the way to do it. I mean, did the Patriots a ball telling them to pick Tom Brady NO they've picked him because he wanted to be there and they wanted him.

    Oilers win the Draft Lottery

I feel bad for McDavid, Buffalo and Arizona. At least buffalo is getting one hell of a prospect and despite what some believe they will develop him the right way. Arizona still has OEL and will probably try to trade down for marner, Strome. That being said f*** you McTavish, f*** you Kevin Lowe, f*** you Katz those idiots are now getting the chance to ruin another prospect 4 first OA in six years that's a disgrace and they'll add Mathews next year. Happy for their fans but the management there is a freaking joke and all of a sudden they become another player for Babcock..because that center depth is insane...McDavid, Hopkins Draisaitl and Klefbom, Nurse as a top pairing soon. That being said would anybody have a problem with 97 pulling a Lindros ? Poor kid looked like he was seconds away from crying. I think he wanted to be Sabre or maybe even a Leaf.

Senators still are having 2 home games and will turn this series around. Even if not what they've accomplished is perfect. If the series is close to over make it doo that the Habs will have to replace some guys in the next round. At least Leafs fans are showing up when their team is bad too..Habs lolol French chickens

There can never be enough Chiefs on a hockey-team. It's really too bad that it didn't work out that guy is one heck of a soldier 3.000 PIMs are such message But yeah I would be scared too

Do Maple Leaf fans deserve better?

Watch his presser again it's clear that he wants a Yes man but I don't think Burkes son is a yes man.

ECQF : (7) Sénateurs d'Ottawa vs. (2) Les Canadiens de Montréal

T he Senators are not calling for a huge suspension, what they are calling for is simple: 1. either suspend him (didn't happen) or 2. if someone slashes/runs one of their starplayers give the Sen the same penalty and non suspension. And that's why I'm awaiting game 2 it will be pure hatred, physical and I bet Neil will fight Prust (who is by far my favorite Hab) then go on to either destroy Subban or run Price. Take his 5 min + a game misconduct and the Habs will cry foul... If someone did that to one of our players (I don't care if it's a star or someone else) I'd be pissed too but the difference is I wouldn't count on the league to do anything, this is hockey big boy sport so I'd rather see one our players handle that stuff on the ice. And even an aging Neil is still extremely good at his role the Habs are in for a surprise tonight. Even if Neil doesn't do anything with Pacioretty coming back after a concussion people can bet the Senators will "check" whenever possible if is head is right. Btw. this is the same franchise that called the police after Chara checked Pacioretty hard into the boards but the injury was the result of their horrible misplaced rod. It's easy for us to sit here and say a slash on an unprotected area doesn't hurt well I know this: NHL players have had broken wrists in protected areas because of slashes and as far as I'm concerned you can't fake a broken wrist. The only thing were I'm agreeing with Subban is that threatening thing ... it's the playoffs and it's hockey threats, trash talk are part of the game. Ray Ferraro had a good piece on that on Leafs Lunch yesterday basically saying in the age of social media people want all the information but only a minority can handle it and most fans would be surprised on what has been said and done during back in the good old days.

ECQF : (8) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (1) New York Rangers

No team is going to roll-over without putting up at least a fight. Maybe the Pens are comfortable with the underdog role but I fully expect the Rangers to win it.
  17. Sadly couldn't watch the whole game but as expected Tampa is lightning fast, Wings D needs to be better simple as that . Mrazek needs to stop playing his over aggressive style that's not going to fly in the playoffs. I don't care which team has more shots the D needs to play them tighter. I'm sure Tampa will want to even the score in the next game..let's see if wings can keep up. At least it won't be a sweep so that's a positive

League will never admit it but I think they like all the drama because now people who weren't interested in the series are and will tune in even non senators and habs fans.

ECQF : (8) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (1) New York Rangers

Yes, Pens are decimated on the defense but they still have Crosby, Malkin I expect them to at least put up a fight. I mean this Rangers team is heavily into win now mode they can't afford to underestimate anybody

If I'm Melynck I'd call Neil, Kassian, Buddy Robinson to my office. Show them the Isles - Pens video tell them want a nice bonus ? If they are saying yes, well then go outthere and serve justice.

ECQF : (7) Sénateurs d'Ottawa vs. (2) Les Canadiens de Montréal

Finish every check, cross check him when the refs aren't looking, do some face washes and punch those French fries out of the series. If they want to play that game, Ottawa has the tools to do it..call up Kassian and do what The Leafs have done a few years back...Subban, Eller and Galchenyuk are such a n embarrassing bunch. Ottawa will win the next game and then crush those French fries at home

Good, now Neil can deliver the penalty. Go Sens go Habs are such an unlikable, embarrassing team

    Boston GM Peter Chiarelli fired

Just finished watching their presser it seems like there was a rift between Cam Neely and Peter Chiarelli. Chiarelli wanted a more "skilled" team while Neely (thankfully) wants to bring back the Big Bad Bruins. Even if Boychuck flatout said " I'm not re-signing" at least wait till the trade deadline and trade him then, I mean Franson, Winnik fetched first rounders Boychuck would have easily topped that and a first rounder in such a deep draft (even if it's a late one) is much better than two 2 rounders. Iginla fit in perfectly his style is bruinslike and he was their best goalscorer (I think he scored 31 goals that year) so letting him go AND not replacing him means minus 60 points. In terms of Seguin I fully agree with you, if a team wants to get rid of a guy that badly at least wait for a better offer..I mean Kelly and Ericsson ? Really that's a GOTM fleece by Neil. Just looked it up Chiarelli has 3 years left on his contract so he can sit at home, revisit the cons and pros of his GM days with the Bruins while collecting millions and then come back re-energized to GM another organization - not the worst outcome in the world I guess. Leafs Lunch already discussed if he would be willing to come to Toronto I doubt it, a man of his resumee isn't going into a place where the Assistant GMs are already set and the VP is the de facto "main" GM.
