Married with Children Home Improvement (till season 5) will never be topped Electro cars suck (Electaurus is the only exception that crazy car can talk) -
That's why I've written let them get offended just don't give those attention hungry idiots any publicity (thanks to that ***** Proteau THN has become unreadable, they are even worse than the bleacherreport now).... The worst thing one can do is to acknowledge them. Rielly on the trading block would be great (kid will be a very good defenseman one day) but I highly doubt it Gardiner could be a possibility. I'm sure Shanahan or whoever is in charge there will try to keep him as a building block and then add a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.

Zetterberg leaves after 2nd Period; "upper body injury"

Fully agreed it was unbelievable and so laughable. Same with video games but showing real violence on TV in the news is accepted lol Yeah his babe is freaking hot. -

I'm not disagreeing here but the league won't oblige so what's the solution then. I mean if there's another option I'd like to hear it. What I'm trying to say here is this: if players have answer for the crap team mates are doing it will create accountability within that locker room because I don't think Seguin would be happy dealing with someone like Orr because Benn didn't want to answer for his cheapshot. I mean if the fines were harsh and the suspensions lengthy then ok but they aren't. Just to put things into perspective Avery got 6 games for sloppy seconds quote .. Cowen not even a hearing neither will Benn so should I really have fait in this safety department? Kliq yeah my bad what I mean is basically protection for our players whether they are stars or not doesn't matter to me. Star players were just used because if the recent incident. -

Yeah tried to search that damn quote, but no luck he basically was the fourth guy welcoming him to the new team. Wish I could remember which site it was. Who is saying that it's out of date ? Some guys who want to turn hockey into the same ***** sport that soccer is (i.e eliminate hitting also and increase the nets whatever...). I really don't care what type of school some thoughts are what I care about is protection for our star-players and like McGrattan put in the summer "these guys should go out there and do whatever they want". So yeah I'd rather be oldschool than hoping for something that will not happen! (higher fines relatively to a players salary or harsher suspensions). -

Usually I think fighters should go after other fighters but if people want to act tough and brave against star-players ...prove it against someone who knows how to throw them too fair is fair. If not, someone else has to pay the price. I'm not talking about assaulting here I'm talking about something that this team has lost and other teams are clearly taking advantage of and I'm sick of seeing that, loved what big E did but their needs to be on ice accountability. If Benn does this against Johnny Hockey or Monahan Bollig and/or Engelland would more than a few words with him. kliq that's simply not true back when Pittsburgh signed Steve MacIntyre Derek Engelland - who is a really tough customer by himself - said even he wouldn't be confident dropping it against that guy. But yeah if people believe those great $ 2.500 max fines and Quintal should be the new policy they'd better get used to cheapshots against our starplayers... -

Just read somewhere, that the Isles fans are complaining about Tavares taking a beating with Martin out with a broken nose. So I guess Brian Burke was right, when he said if the enforcers are gone the rats will take over we are seeing that now. Sending a message leaguewide that you can't go after our starplayers without payback (either fight our tough-guy or our tough-guy will go after everyone including the other starplayers). I mean how much longer are people willing to accept that crap ? I'm sure if a guy like Frazer McLaren tells Benn you either fight me, or I'm going after Seguin, Nischuskin...basically anybody from your team then Benn will start to think maybe it wasn't the best idea to punch Z 2 times in the head, because if he doesn't fight then someone else is toast because of his actions. i.e 2.500 $ fine for a guy who made 14.000.000 that year. it's unbelievable and if the league isn't willing to really do anything it should be up to the teams to take matters in their own hands and mean business. -

It's a likely scenario but the other scenario is Benn getting hammered by big E. It wasn't an arms race before and it wouldn't be this time but what is your solution then hoping the league does something and if so what ? Suspend Benn yeah that'll teach him...Too often other teams are trying to intimidating the Wings and succeeding in doing so. -

May sound foolish but this whole thing is more than just about my stance on fighting, it's about saying enough is enough. I give Ericsson and even Abby huge kudos for dropping the gloves but let's be honest they don't scare anybody Colton Orr, Brian McGrattan, Steve MacIntyre, Luke Gazdic do...or if they are too "one dimensinal" for some how about Chris Neil still tough as nails and he can play as a fourth liner. People are complaining now but guess what happens - if this team makes the playoffs - and opponents are trying to take advantage of our stars, young guns in the same manner ? Hockey-players are fans too I'm sure they watch games and tell themselves, so it's ok if I smash this guys head through the glass...or punsh him because if someone tougher is coming along...the refs are protecting me for acting like a *****. I don't care if I'm the only one or only one of two guys here...but to me the Wings should do what the Isles did with the Pens 2 years ago just to send out a message to the league. If Z has a concussion I'll be livid. I get it Benn is a tough kid and I like his playstyle but boy if you want to act tough man up and fight big E instead of cheap-shotting Z... -

Nope Benn should have had to answer for that in Maguire style. Nothing will come out off this if people are expecting pay-back it has to be done on ice if only guys who can do that were available ... oh wait they are it just takes a phone call to Toronto or Calgary. Running to the league like ******* won't teach other teams a lesson, saying enough is enough will do so. I.e Isles Pens 2 years ago -

lol 13 goals sounds like an off-night for the defense on both sides. what a backhander by Kronwall that was almost datsyukian like -
http://www.tsn.ca/report-oilers-jets-top-no-trade-lists-1.210362 Maybe this finally gets the media to rethink their behaviour. It's no wonder that player don't want to play under that constant microscope or in a city where they can't order anything I'd they don't speak French. Winnipeg is a but surprising to me small town with a family feeling and an almost packed ring every time. Also some of the comments are disgusting and these fans are wondering why nobody wants to play there..lolMaybe treating the players with class and having respect for their privacy would be a nice start? I mean if both teams were equally bad I'd still rather play for a team like the Ducks - coming from someone who lives as cold as possible winners! - with no media instead of the 24/7 going shows Toronto and Montreal..who wouldn't.

TSN: Winnipeg, Toronto and Edmonton top NTC lists
frankgrimes replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
Oh sounds totally different from what I've read/heard Yeah the media in Toronto and Montreal is tough, for every Dreger, LeBrun and MacKenzie there seems to be a Feschuk, Cox and no player should have to keep up with that crap if they have a choice. Yeah the rings in other places may not be as packed but there is also a middle ground between over the top coverage and no coverage at all. I think the Wings used to be so attractive for a ton of reasons, loaded with over the top talent (hall of fame guys), paid probably the highest salaries in the league and of course the change to compete for the cup almost annually but nowadays yeah the city and I'm sure the uncertain future of Babcock and other stuff might work against this team. I think it was a combination of a lot of things but let's not forget that other clubs offered more (term and $wise) for the big UFAs. This is something that has to change if the Wings plan to add some significant pieces come July 1. The times where players were willing to take a paycut in exchange to play for a stanley cup contending team are gone. What I hate about that article all other teams are hidden behind a paywall, would be nice to see the standings of other teams including the Wings. -
Yeah we are on the same page then, reminds me of how happy I was when some owner basically told the offended party to f*** off and find something elese to do instead of complaining about a team name *lol*
-
I'm amazed how this trade has backfired on both teams, Kassian was supposed to become the next Lucic (big, strong, mean with a scoaring touch) but for whatever reason he decided to act like an idiot more often than not. Vancouver is entering rebuild mode I doubt they'll take on Weiss, Kindl... Kassasian is still young and could turn it around but I don't know if I'd want him alongside the young guns here...could be a possible lockerroom problem.
-
Let me give you an easy example: what would happen if people who are offended that others are offended did the same thing and complained in groups about the "offended party " ? That's right a never ending circle of being offended that others are offended...it would be so comically chaotic and stupid at the same time. Maybe it's just me and I'm too relaxed for stuff like this it just doesn't bother me.
-
Why should "everyone" just because some people who are offended by almost everything want to impose some dictationship like rules ? I'm not getting into politics here because I hate them and this is a sports forum...but I guess some people would be surprised by the amount ot trash talking that's happens during games. Guess what be pissed about and tell your little girl to find another icon if it's such a big deal for you as a dad I mean there are 700 NHL players can't be that hard. People these days want all the information but some for sure can't handle it it seems. It's exactly stuff like this why Toronto is having such a hardtime attracting free agents (despite some other shortcoming of course) but seriously they're making a big deal out of pretty much every non hockey related stuff i.e Bernier not knowing who Mandela is, Phaneuf not wearing an "official Leafs cap post game" and now this...I'm sure the players are frustrated enough already cut them some slack and let them focus on what's really important ...their job: hockey. I'd say let them complain then if they have nothing better to do it's their life if they want to waste it on such useless stuff go ahead
-
Biggest joke of this whole thing is that Rielly actually had to apologize for it...Don't like what he has to say don't read it and move on. Man the media in Toronto really has to make a story out of everything

What the ...looks like he had the puck and then it slipped under the curve and in. Nice to see that even such elite players have stinkers like that so us hobby players can say well it happens to the best too (for sure once in a million but still). -
Agreed Lombardi really turned them around and what impresses me the most, is his ability to bring in the missing pieces he did it first with Carter and then again last year with Gaborik. Yeah, we as fans are having the luxury to play armchair GMs and all of the GMs know a lot more about hockey than we do but I strongly believe a team either has to be incredible skilled (Wings 2002, to a lesser extent Hawks 2010) or able to bring the right mixture of toughness and skill (Kings, Ducks from 2007).

Not only they've also phoned his mother because the club didn't want to reveal the injury. Best example of how bad the media can be would have to be Kessel over 30 goals reach year with Bozak as center and yet they are asking him if he's a coach killer basically..or constantly connecting him with trade talks. No I haven't and not planning to do so, 1. distance 2. I can't speak French and I'm not criticizing them I'm just pointing out that it would be difficult..sure, players who are playing there long enough will learn the language but if you are just a rental I can think of easier places with less pressure. -
Tampa? Stamkos, Hedman, Drouin and Bishop uuuioooo Even with Boston struggling their type of game is not a good matchup for the Wings. Montreal as stated will only go as far as Price can take them.
-
Do I think so? No but remember Toronto last year they've needed 25 points out of last 25 and had a collapse and lost Bernie for a long period of time Isles would be another team that doesn't have a heavy for check they rely heavily on speed and lack playoff experience.
-
I know that but the playoffs more than anything are the time where teams need to be able to compete against all sorts of teams..some bring speed others are heavy forcheck...That's what makes LA that good they fragment deal with every type of team based on having the right mixture.
-
How about making the playoffs first and then discuss the opponent ? So far there's still a chance to miss it. If the Wings make it I think a team with a non heavy-game would be a preference maybe the Rangers ?
