Also known as sissy hockey which doesn't get teams far in the playoffs (if they make it).

Getzlaf calls Ovechkin a diver, O says "I have hair"
frankgrimes replied to WeBleedRed's topic in General
It's unbelievable how much people are interpreting into something so obvious. The point is, hockeywise Getzlaf has nothing left to prove because he's won it all and sometimes even more than once...in terms of t eam accomplishments OV has well...nothing. So it's not that far fetched to expect a more creative answer from someone so outspoken and extroverted, if people can't understand that it's their own fault. I don't know what's creepay about point out the obvious, hockeyplayers are living in nice places and are banging hot-chicks it's not a secret. I'm sure OV is living in a very nice place too but toping New Port Beach is not an easy task even if a guy has all the money in the world. -
Why would LA move the kid? Great option but I just don't see them moving him

For sure it's important and I'd say it's extremely important but I expected a better argument than something so obvious from such an outspoken extroverted player like OV. I mean OV could have said something like :"yeah I guess I'm diving to 50 goals this season when has he done that? " It's the same as calling Crosby Cindy it's been fun but sadly too overused. -
Yeah Neil would be a great choice or Shawn Thornton but Ottawa won't trade Neil he's on injured reserve with a broken thumb. Matt Hessian might be another option Matt Martin is another great option perfect fourth liner, hits everything and will drop the gloves. Downie is a pest just like Rinaldo.

Two Olympic gold medals, tough as nails, Stanley cup, beautiful girl friend, living in freaking new port beach and knowing how to celebrate with class..No wonder mr. Over the top celebrations, golden hockey laces had nothing else to talk about.. Getzlaf is the type I'd guy you hate as an opponent but would love having on your favorite team. OV is a great scorer bit thats t it -

Wow would have been happy with one point and now they got 2, nice notification to wake up to nice one Howard. -
This has been needed since forever and yes the Wings are pussysoft. It's not the fault of the players because some just don't have that gritty side in them or lack the size to do it but it's the job of a front office to correct that mistake because if this teams makes the playoffs they won't be able to match the tight checking and heavyness other teams can bring if needed. Chris Neil would be nice but I'd rather have Luke Gazdic, Patrick Bourdelaux or Frazer McLaren (currently in the AHL huge kid and could be had for a fourth rounder...). I mean, there are tons of others currently in the NHL who would strike fear into the opponents but I know Holland wouldn't sign them so I've mentioned the ones I'm hoping for.

Wait till they are facing more fire power, a better defense and a team that knows how to screen Price...their offense and defense aren't anything to write home about. Bailing the team out almost each and other game has to get tiresome at some point and if that point is in the playoffs, the Habs won't make it far. -
If Boston keeps sliding Chiarelli will be out of a job soon, Charles Jacobs is not going to put up with that for long.
-
Look again I'm not downplaying Z or Pasha - huge fan of both players - I'm just saying the bar is so incredible high that I don't think either will make it, wheter that's fair or unfair is whole other debate. Also it doesn't matter what we as fans think, if the best owner in all of sports believes 13 + 40 should go to the rafters they will simply as that.

Shows their commitment both are already talked about as phenoms and they still keep working hard and adding muscle. When I've made my point a very important one got lost (intentionally?): given where this team is and what the needs are. I believe a power-forward is needed and while it's true players will put on mass a guy who is already 190 lbs + will still do the same and maybe turn into another Lucic, Bertuzzi..I'm sure teams like the Blues or LA would have other priorities because their teams are already at an average 200 lbs + level. I also don't know why the concept of drafting a Michigan boy is questioned identification plays a huge part in fandom, so if the kid has the talent and may be only a bit worse than someone else drafting him makes sense in a lot of ways. Anyway back to topic Siegel has mentioned the Wings here ( http://www.tsn.ca/shanahan-should-emulate-wings-in-rebuild-1.208987). I know, the new TSN layout sucks but I still haven't found a better site for hockey-news which is very unfortunate. Back when the Leafs drafted Schenn he sadly is the perfect example of ill-advise and rushing him. Kid came in with great size and was a bruising well playing force then their management wanted him to put on too much muscle too quickly so he lost a stepped and never has been able to play and hit like he used to, which is sad. But this article doesn't mention something very important overcooking can also lead to players wanting out, thanks god Tatar and Nyquist had the patience but not everyone will.

The Habs aren't that good they'll go as far as their superb goalie can take them. That being said Price is having an unbelievable year. -
Ah thank you thought they've changed it again. Um Tampa would be even tougher.
-
Then the score so is wrong it shows the wings at 5 and Pittsburgh at 4.
-
How about making the playoffs first? There is still a lot off hockey to be played and lots of points to be had. I don't think they are a contender and too easy to play against which will be exploited if they make the playoffs. Right now the wings would be facing Pittsburgh ....

That's what the Toronto war room is for at some point the league had to look into this loop hole right ? -
Guys like McEichel are obviously can't miss prospects but in the later rounds or maybe even at around 15 if it's washup I'd go with size and local boys to make it easier for fans to identify themselves with the team. I mean look at Toronto they didn't draft a GTO player till the later rounds.
-
Given where this team is and what we currently need no because we need size at the forward and especially back-end position. Which doesn't mean I would pass on a can't miss prospect...but at let's say 25 I'd go size and physicality first.

Someone needs to screen price because chances are if h e sees the puck he is going to stop it. -
Yeah the Flames, Leafs (?), Canucks and Coyotes come to mind. Of course stuff like this would have to be created way before both are retiring. Also not getting your number retired in such a storied franchise is far from a knock against the players, both are absolute role models and have been a huge part of this organization they just aren't that setting the bar for generations to come level...that guys like Howe, The Captain, Godström and Sawchuck ... were.
