Well Nashville is set up for a nice run and the Leafs would have been really dumb to trade him to a divisional opponent. So Dreger was right with his projection of the asking price Franson would have been nice big rugged gritty defender who would have given this team finally a physical presence.

When Godström got his number retired I knew it would be a very long time till we might see someone up there again (I'm talking about decades not years here). In terms of history this proud franchise has seen so many all time greats which really set the bar enormously high. To answer the question no both aren't this good. Z and Pasha possess a higher chance at the hall of fame than getting their numbers retired maybe some sort like Calgary's ring of honor.

I think so, McQuaid is very underrated as a fighter he is strong but doesn't fight as much ass he used to Roussel is more like an agitator.

Is Franson a soft player ? Looking at his size I think he could lay out some people with nice hits and provide some offense here and there. Anyways Pittsburgh was due for a better game, they are way too talented to struggle unfortunately they came alive against the Wings. Winnipeg should be a much easier game.
