Nasty Business-Roussel ejected for cross-check to McQuaid's throat
frankgrimes replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
It's a hackneyed saying for beating the crap out of an opponent. -
I still can't wrap my head on that trade I'm sure the isles weren't the only ones asking about Boychuck and it's hard to believe that nobody would have been able to beat that offer. Chiarelli made another bad move after trading Seguin, not replacing Iginla and letting an energy guy in Thornton walk. I mean at least trade Boychuck to the west instead of helping another eastern conference team out. Did he really believe his team would be the same quality product without their best scorer and a tank of a defenseman? Johnny B. should have at least returned a solid prospect or a late first.

Sabres and Stars swap goalies: Enroth for Lindback
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I don't understand that trade from Dallas' side Enroth is not going to outplay Lehtonen is their backup goalie really that bad ? -
Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?
frankgrimes replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
No to Jagr I thought the point of this retool/rebuild was to get younger not older ? Wings need help on defense but according to BM the price for Franson is a first + a prospect I wouldn't give that up for a soon to be UFA he would be a pure rental. -
The problem is not them getting worse it's that they've got themselves a problem child and an injury prone player in return for their biggest asset - assuming their first is as safe as it gets - fans are absolutely roasting Murray right now. This has the potential to become a Seguin for Ericsson light trade...

Once the two starters back to 100 % he will be send down to the AHL to work on his game, as it should be.

Nasty Business-Roussel ejected for cross-check to McQuaid's throat
frankgrimes replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
If he did that to Looooch he would have made him his *****. That guy got angry because Prout landed and absolute right handed bomb and still got up immediately can only imagine what he would have done with Roussel but I was very disappointed with the Bruins reaction I thought for sure Chara or Looch would jump Roussel before the refs can do anything. This had the potential for a nice linebrawl -
Tough to predict this game, long break and the Pens struggling could go either way I guess.
-
Buffalo are furious about the trade as they should be. As far as Myers being better than Bogosian my bad should have added potential wise. Myers has all the tools to become at least a Chara light. Wow I've read this is Cheveldayoff's first nhl fire nhl player move since becoming GM.. That can't be true
-
Also Myers is better than Bogosian. I liked Buffalo but that poison pill ruins their like ability a lot. This only makes sense if they waive him or use him to acquire another first rounder man Murray..
-
I don't understand this trade from Buffalo's point of view. They are rebuilding and a guy with serious attitude problems should be the last thing they should want alongside their up and coming players. Bad trade Murray

In the good old days Roussel would have left the game on a stretcher for stuff like this, unbelievable. -
That Mrazek kid is getting so overrated wow. Kid has 0 playoff experience and still needs to work on things and yet some people would prefer him as a number 1.. What's the rush send him back to the minors, let Mrazek work on his rebound control, over committing and once the off-season roles around see where he is at and decide whether to keep or trade the monster then or package Mrazek to improve the defense Thomas was the best goalie in the league back then and Rask already on the verge of becoming elite.. So that comparison is too much. Nabakov Niemi - I'm sure there better examples - would be close.

Disclaimer: those who hate fighting, tough guys will hate it so no need to read the article. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/why-we-fight/ He talks about how he became a tough guy, the code and that sometimes emotions are getting the best of him even against some of his best buddies like King Henrik and Stepan. At the end Prust gives a nice incite on what goes on the day before a fight.. He doesn't sleep much, still fears the opponent and when the day comes he prefers his fights early to get it out of the way. The best part is probably him talking about rats and what he thinks of guys that are going after skilled and smaller players.

Classy move by Yzerman, happy retirement Nabakov

Sadly he is not available and the Coyotes would be stupid to trade him, a 23 year old stud who hasn't even reached his prime yet. They are going to enter the rebuild phase with him as a cornerstone. That being said Mantha + a D prospect wouldn't even get the conversation started (if he were available), more like Mantha + Tatar/Nquist + defensive prospect (XO preferably) + a first.

I believe Prust is talking about guys like Cooke, Torres, Laperierre, Marchand...

Well it all starts at the top, Bell and Rogers can't stand each other and there are way too many unknown positions. I wouldn't be surprised if some management people don't know who is responsible for what. Also this team has gone through a lot of philosophy changes in a small amount of time. There was absolutely no reason to change the course after the successful lockout season.. Yeah they've lost against Boston in unbelievable fashion but so what? Dig deep and come back stronger next year. No need to change a working system. Even as a fan of an opposing fan the leafs where fun to watch that year... and then bring in Shanghai, with him a philosophy change and that Dubas guy who both have to learn at the job. But even with all of that this isn't a bad team on paper maybe the pressure is too much and some of their core guys just want out. I mean, at some point every player has to be fed-up with being constantly blamed in the media or in trade talks. Shanahan should have allowed Carlyle to build a Carlyle type of team instead of expecting a different playstyle without a having the right players for it.

As far as Pasha yup and then I was really happy seeing him signing an extension here. See I'm not the only one who is worried about him signing elsewhere. At least I didn't claim he will 100 % he will leave or stay because nobody save for Babcock and his closest friends where his mindset is. If Toronto goes crazy in terms of money and offers him a bigger role in player decision maybe he feels confident enough to accept that huge challenge. Point being a lot of teams will show interest. Maybe he wants a change of scenery and a huge challenge. I've also said in the summer that I'm prepared to see him signing elsewhere if he doesn't it will be a Pasha like surprise, period but I don't need to be constantly reminded by someone who thinks - without facts - that he for sure will sign an extension and my way of thinking is wrong. As far as the team placement goes so what? How about waiting till they've officially made them (same goes for other teams)?

Cherry is just great, sadly Rogers destroyed HNIC. Also lol at the notion of Kane in Montreal would Bergervin really want that kind of distraction? Winnipeg has no leverage here every interested GM will point out the situation and maybe offer a solid prospect.
-
How I'm dealing with Babcock signing or not is my cup of tea not yours. I couldn't care less if someone who has half the prospect roster on his near untouchable list thinks. BTW. Since Babcock will 100% re-sign what are the lottery numbers going to be next week? Whether people like it or not fact is Crosby is the best player in the game..followed by Stamkos and Toews. The difference between being a fan and being delusional is sometimes a small one so I'm not the one who has to give this a rest. I believe whatever I want and in case of Babcock I believe it when I see it.

Just rewatched some highlights Doan is such a crybaby back in the old days someone would have made him shut up. 30 games to go and 25 points are needed guess that's 0,400 hockey?
-
Don't set yourself up for disappointment.. As much as Babcock would deserve it the Jack Adams will go to one of Hartley, Laviolette or Trotz. The good thing is it doesn't really matter Babcock is in the triple gold club and by far the best coach in hockey. Mr. I will not let him walk before making a significant offer. I don't care if it's 4 or even 8 million there is no salary cup for coaches. This whole thing will come down to 1 decision does Babs want to stay or coach the best player in hockey or work for Shanahan? Money will not be an issue! It's so funny reading leafs fans thinking that 4 mill would be too much for the wings how quickly they've forgotten that our payroll was higher than theirs

Ok just looked it up they've send him the ECHL maybe I was a bit too excited seems to have fallen off a bit lately.
