While I somewhat understand the point please McEichel is the future superstar and face of the nhl duo. Mantha and Larkin are hopefully top 6 contributors but the expectations for McEichel is superstars.

Neither has played a game in nhl any yet some are talking about franchise potential. For the right price everyone should be available. At some point a major trade needs to happen and it will include a promising prospect.

Both will fill huge needs when their time comes. Mantha had the size and from all accounts are crazy quick release. Larkin is by far the best center prospect for the wings. If both can turn into solid top 6 contributors that would be really nice.

Think about Hextall he left the Flyers to become director of scouting for the LA Kings and then worked his way up. The guy outplayed Howard last year People are seeing a few games (some good, some average at best) from a young goalie and would already apoint him the backup job. Thats exactly the way of how players are getting their confidence shattered in early years.

And you think the players of this gimmick teams and fans should care because? There is no national pride, patriotism involved so why should players 1. Be there and 2. Care? Also how can McDavid be prohibited from playing for his own country? Which national anthem will be played? Players want to represent their country even if they are getting blasted by the powerhouses it's still better than playing with fake teams who aren't your country man.
