Spector had a little thing about the Canucks not being happy with Kassian. Well if they want to dump a 23 year old 6-3/215 RHed forward that is mean and can score, I would gladly take him! From Detroit (Windsor) as well. Yes he is still growing up mentally, but so is most of our team. Would be a good future Bert type to balance out some of our smallness.

Thing is, with guys like neal you need to have 4 so that you always have 2 or 3 in your lineup. Others are on suspension.

Funny true, but how many here wouldn't love to have a 27 year old forward that is 6-2/210 and over the past three seasons averages .50 goals per game? Give me 4 guys just like him! The NHL lets him play like that and it clearly works. may not like his style, but it is effective.

Is it the primary purpose? No. is it happening? yes. we have a lot of guys in the organization that we need to make decisions on. Do we resign ferraro? Callahan? legwand? is any of the Nyquist, tatar, Jurco, Pulkinnan, group ready? That is 7 guys right there, then add in the Abby, Andersson, helm, datsyuk, Z, Miller, Tootoo, Franzen, glendening group and we are already over 14. That is before we resign any UFA's or add some outside UFA's. As andy mentioned, to get a top pair Dman will cost a lot. So it is a good thing to know which of the kids can play and are ready.

Buppy, Kassian is having the same type of start to his career as Bertuzzi and Lucic have had. Kassian 147 NHL games to date. 22 goals 22 assists and 224 PIM's Bertuzzi 1st 2 years played 140 NHL games 28 goals 34 assists 151 PIM's Lucic 1st 2 years played 149 NHL games 25 goals 44 assists 225 PIM's Those are very similar numbers. Now what will Kassian be? No one knows. Could he be a top power forward in the next 3 years? yes. TBH it is all up to him. he has the talent.

Hate ties and always have. But OT sucks as well. The 4 on 4 stuff blows. If tied at the end of regulation, just go to the SO-which is safer for the players. While we are at it, get rid of the points system as well. Every game has a winner and loser, so go by record. Most wins is in.

The point in this is, Kassian could be moved. That is the rumor. Yes there are always guys that are better, Lucic for example. But is there any chance the B's move him? No. Many are also over looking the progress in his game. He is tracking like guys like Bert and Lucic. First couple of years, a few scores and a lot of PIM's. Like most players it takes a few years to develop and learn the NHL game. No I am not saying that Kassian is going to become a 30 goal guy with 150 PIM's. But could he become a 20 goal guy with 150 PIM's? yes he can. he is 23 and it isn't going to cost a ton to pick him up right now. Trading for guys BEFORE they reach their peak costs far less than picking up guys at their peak.

The self righteousness of some around here is honestly socking and naïve. Tinky was just arrested a year ago for being "super drunk", the RW stood by him but somehow Kassian is a Dbag? Getting a DUI and risking the lives of others on the roads is far worse than anything Kassian has ever done in a hockey game or to some un named bouncer at a bar. Ghost of probert calling. For years the RW's stood by him with all of his drug and alcohol issues, even when he was arrested coming across the boarder. Or McCarty's alcohol issues, Bertuzzi-the master of one of the worst cheap shots in NHL history, who we have brought into town twice. BTW, what team drafted Avery again? Oh yeah the RW. I could go on about all the times Kozlov and Hudler came to the locker room drunk off of their a$$, but then again most of you ignore such facts. keep the blinders on, only pure as the driven snow types play for the RW's! LOL The only question that should ever be asked is: Does picking up player X make us a better team? That is all that really matters. Now if there are better options out there, great! go for them as well. But to act holier than thou or the rest of the NHL is just plain silly and naïve. Not to mention you completely ignore much of the RW's great history.

I am kinda shocked at how many think Hodgson is a good hockey player. He is terrible defensively and at faceoffs. Widely known for being lazy. As for people being a jerk, I could tell you some stories about Steve Chassion, Bob Probert, yes Stevie Y, that most wouldn't believe of choose to believe. Fact is, I don't care. If you show up and do your job, that is what matters.

There are reasons why these type of stories make it in the "rumors" sections. Could be spot on or 100% false. But if Van is dumb enough to give up on him this early, I would gladly help them out. His 11 goals would be 5th on our team this year, and he would bring some physical play that we sorely need. Not to mention the RH shot.

You subtract 2 games from franzen this year and he has 3 months with 0 goals. That isn't great. I don't care about his pro rated numbers. he has 30+ goals once in his 9 year career. it isn't something he is going to do. Do you really expect nyquist to score 40 goals next season? that is his pace this year..... no. he isn't that type of player.
