Of course I have, Mule is one of my favorite players to watch even when his performance has been sub par. Because when he brings it, he brings it. I'm just saying that he has his negative moments as much as anyone else, and he can't point his finger at anyone else without pointing at himself as well.

I'm excited as well to see Smith as a forward, this could be a good thing. Mathieu Dandenault was a forward before he converted to a defenseman and of course Scotty Bowman used to play Fedorov on the back end with great success.

It's like the pot calling the kettle black...

They make losing look far too easy. I wouldn't rest them, I'd work their asses off all Summer and fatten them up so they don't break so easy next season.
-
Fortunately the plane is fine, it was the team that crashed...
-
I agree. The loads of confidence they've acquired the past few seasons beating our asses played a big role in that I'm sure.

Am I the only one who can't help but think "Nick should give us one of his clones...er sons..."? -

I agree, but if he was to be called for running his mouth it should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct or even abuse of official penalty rather than a straight up "unassisted" misconduct. NHL refs suck.
-
Maybe I'm just overthinking the situation but if the refs intentionally gave Franzen a misconduct, when he obviously didn't do anything to receive it, shouldn't that show the world how incompetent NHL refs are? It was a blatant bad call and should be considered a form of cheating (they used a call to remove a player from the ice, abusing their power as refs).

Ryan Miller, Steve Ott traded to St. Louis Blues

I was really hoping that we'd get in on Ott, St. Louis just became formidable... -
Stranger things have happened, and worse teams have won the cup...

Franzen is a big boy, if he ever "snaps", it'll take his entire line to restrain him. That said I agree he was handed the misconduct just to get him off the ice, if I was the powers that be I would rather let Toots take Neil off the ice.

I'm glad, when I found out the games would be hosted in South Korea I shook my head. -

The way I look at it, is we're not winning games. Plain and simple. Before anyone blames the injury bug, we've won some incredible games against top teams with key players injured so that isn't working for me anymore. The team is just inconsistent and too many holes need filled (not plugged). My 2 cents.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

^ This. No way would I give up Nyquist for Vanek, as much as I would love seeing him in the Winged Wheel. We need a top tier d-man more than anything, our kids are already starting to click and they only have room to grow. -
Actually it is. When you get to the point of predicting losses, it's time to start focusing on the problem. Some people will blame the coach, others will blame the defense/goalie. Fact is all these games we lose are in fact winnable if we work harder and show some emotion. I wouldn't mind losing as bad if we earned the loss, rather than giving the opposition the win.

Sometimes in order to win, you've got to get a little dirt under your fingernails... This team has zero grit.
