Callahan had a big hit in the game yesterday but I didn't think he was very good at all. Definitely not nhl ready. Ferraro, might be ok, I think I'd like to give someone else a shot though.

I guess auto correct got us both. My point was McCarty would never back down from a fight, even if he knew he would get his ass beat. Yes chara was acting like a little girl, but if you're supposed to be an enforcer and you're vying for a spot on the team, showcase the fact that you won't take s*** from anyone. Don't do the Phil kessel. Even Smith was ready to go with chara last year. Edit: auto correct strikes again.

He's not a star, he's supposed to be a tough guy. Tough guys don't do that, how can he be our McCartney or probert if he can't even defend himself.

Yes he did and chara got upset they started roughing around and Callahan lost his helmet skated really fast to the bench and got off like a kid running home to tell on someone

Ya. Gustavsson wasn't great. Nyquist looked ok but every time he touched the puck 3 Bruins swarmed him. Franzen and Weiss looked pretty good, z didn't look like he was in pain even once during the game. Callahan ran away from a fight with chara, literally. He looked really scared. Ferraro looked ok, but got pushed around pretty easy, but he did lay a nice hit. Smith actually looked good for the most part and so did dk, I didn't notice Quincey much and kindl wasn't good.

no one, i was mentioning the players i believed are not necessarily playing for a spot on the team because they already have earned it, but I also didn't want it to turn into a franzen hate fest. I was replying to the comment is kronwall not playing for a spot on the team, if mean sarcastically I did not pick up on that, just stating my opinion anyway.

I'm pretty sure as our number one dman he would be the absolute last person to lose a job to a prospect. Sorry but no he's not playing for a job, just like datsyuk, z, franzen, And Ericsson are not. They are getting into game shape, but I severely doubt any of our prospects could replace those guys, and please spare the franzen is lazy crap, until we get a guy who can replace his production he isn't going anywhere

Which is why guys like Tatar, goose, Mantha(hopefully after he's healed), Smith , and jurco are on the team, to learn from our aging stars and take the reigns one day. We have a promising future even with the guys in the ahl -

I wasn't disagreeing with the point just correcting it. And technically Weiss would be over 31 cause he already turned 31, but that's just nitpicking by me. Either way we're a fairly young team, pretty much coming into its prime. -

Actually hits from behind may increase, also charging, and they may have to implement a towel whip rule. It will definitely provide a new meaning to blocking a shot though.

I'm not saying we won't have any injuries. But you're picking at every little thing here. A broken nose won't stop helm from playing, a sore shoulder won't keep datsyuk out long. And mantha didn't even make the team yet. It's not even the regular season yet and everyone is in full on panic mode. -

He hit the boards the wrong way. It's not some conditioning thing, he didn't tweak his knee again or anything so he might miss a couple weeks, but I will bet you he's back by game one -
