I think the helmet one is dumb. If you're in your own end on a pk defending and someone checks you, knocks the helmet off, somehow you deserve a penalty because you don't want to leave your team even more shorthanded to go put the helmet back on or go back to the bench? -

Well at that point all the cap space was eaten up and they gave him less than the original offer. I think it was something like 3 years $7 million or something like that. -

It's well known cleary turned down a 3 year deal from the wings originally, claiming he didn't think the contract would pay him what he thought he was worth. I think he only turned down the Philly deal cause he knew they would have pulled there offer after seeing him zamboni the ice with his jersey at training camp -

They have 8 D and 12 forwards. They aren't dealing any forwards, they have too many D, thats why they need to lose one and add a forward

that would imply that the organization is moving in the right direction, I honestly thought they were moving backwards on purpose lol -
They want Mantha, he won't come cheap and he isn't worth it. Green is only 28, so yes I think he can still play that way, you are talking like he's 35 and on a steady decline. Ya he's had injury problems, but he is heaalthy now, and will have a much better season. I like that it is only one year too, if he isn't good he is gone, if he is good, we extend him.

So you'd trade one of our young high end forwards for a project dman, but not for one whose scored 70 points twice 56 points and 30 goals before ? Seems logical

Filppula was offered roughly the same contract he signed with tampa but for 7 years, he turned it down, went to free agency, circled back to the wings but they had already used up their cap space. Hossa was offered the same contract they gave Franzen, he turned it down so they went with plan b and signed Franzen. -
But he also understands he IS replaceable. We do need a puck moving rh dman.

He already said he wants market value on this contract. So like I said, no problem with trading Tatar for green.
