Boston and Chicago can't afford him. Toronto isn't better than us, maybe Montreal would offer him something but who would want to play in that city, and nyr have to sign 4 forwards and one dman, they're first priority will probably be a forward.
-
I've said several times I only want him if he is cheap less then $5m. But I wouldn't mind having him on the team. And the suter thing. Really? Holland did everything possible to get him here, he'll suter even promised him he was coming, not Holland's fault
-
How bout this instead Kh: Hey Matt haven't you wondered what playing on an original 6 dynasty would be like? Mn: actually yes I have. You have a very storied and respected franchise. Kh: yup and we have a lot of very young and very promising players coming up, you could be a part of something big here. Mn: sign me up!

I wasn't piggy backing anything. I didn't even quote anyone. I am annoyed by seeing every thread overtaken by people complaining about franzen.
-
They can't heavily front or backload contracts anymore. It's probably slightly frontloaded but it's not like he'll be making 9 million and then down to 1 million
-
Who is still doubting niskanen will get $7million?
-
Well he did win it 7 times which is almost impossible. He was widely regarded as one of the best dmen to ever play the game, has 4 Stanley cup rings, I don't think he cares if he had a couple extra meaningless trophies to put on his shelf, it's probably already collapsing under all that weight anyway

How dare you bring reason and logic to this hate fest... Everyone was happy we didn't get kesler because everyone agrees the asking price was way too steep.

Most lgw members morning routine. Wake up, have coffee Complain about franzen (honourable mention of hossa) Take a shower Complain about babs/Holland/being too soft Complain about franzen Complain more about franzen Complain even more about franzen.... This is the song that never ends...

I counter that argument with the godfather part III

I'Reilly is one inch taller, and had the opportunity of playing in the nhl since he was 18. Nyquist was given an opportunity and seized it, now he needs to hone in on his skills a bit. If nyquist puts on 15 pounds, they virtually become the same player. I would trade any of our young guys except for jurco and nyquist for o'Reilly
-
So a couple guys more straight out of grand rapids won't change that... And as you recall z dats Ericsson and franzen were all injured for stretches during the year, which was my point
-
You're a wings fan. You're not allowed to like refs. Traitor
-
Leadership, experience, good work ethic. You can't build a team with 22 year olds, look at Edmonton. Alfie was solid last year when healthy. And when our leaders were injured the team didn't do so well. Nyquist was the only player stepping up, now you want to entrust that responsibility to not only the same players who disappeared when times got tough, but a couple extra even younger ones? And you honestly see nothing wrong with that mentality?
-
Sounds like Tatar will be traded to me
-
Just to point out nyquist had a .84ppg and o'Reilly had a .78 ppg, both had 28 goals. The only difference is o'Reilly has 15 pounds on goose, something he could easily correct over the summer. I'm not saying don't trade for o'Reilly but they aren't that far off from being the same player. Both are fast and highly skilled.
-
You're talking about trading a 50-60 point a year guy plus prospect for a 50-60 point a year guy that's roughly the same size, and they both had high shooting percentages
-
You honestly think they would trade o'Reilly for nyquist?
-
I would have kept niemi over Crawford
-
Was just about to post this. Looks like a good trade by Columbus
-
Just for the record, I'm all for keeping franzen. Yes a bargain at his cap hit no matter what the armchair gms around here think. Thornton would be a great addition though. I would think part of the post season trouble with him has to be the coaching
-
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=722934 According to this redraft Tatar would be the 7th overall pick in 2009 ahead of evander Kane I knew right away it was fake when they said former New York rangers LEGEND Sean Avery
-
Because of reasons
-
Nonsense . No one wants franzen . His cap hit is way to high and he is too lazy . Every gm can see that

I counted 12 back to backs and I think 3 or 4 were in the last month or so. Way more than I would prefer and a lot of 3 games in four days and 4 in 6
